They do not fit a 1973 Corvette.

These speakers absolutely do not fit a 1973 Corvette. The tweeter sticks out way too far.

Big vocals from a small package

84 Coupe Deville. Bearing in mind Im new to the SQ game, I do know a bit about audio. The magnets are very large & worse the tweeter protrudes above the top of the speaker almost a full inch, this is the ONLY reason I knocked a star. knowing that any 4x6 speaker is indefinitely being used in tight areas they should have kept the tweeter more compact, that said I'm sure it lends to there SQ. Alot of cutting to get these in the dash. But I am simply blown away by the sound quality of these guys. I've had the older Polk MOMOs & Infinity Ref. (both 4"w/separate tweeters & X-OVERS!) I had low expectations for these. I have always tought of R.F. as more of a generic Bass Head brand than anything relatively SQ. I was wrong. the mids & highs these put out are absolutely amazing, ran by my Alpine KTP-445U(45rms x4) w/6x9 kickers. They blew the kickers away. Currently I'm in the middle of my build with a Kappa Four & One Amps. Focal 6.5s doors, German Maestro 5.25s rear armrest & the T1462s big brother T1693 in the deck (w/alot of cutting) so I ONLY have these running now w/the alpine bridged sending a clean 90rms ea(Speakers rated @60rms) & they are just beautiful, very acoustic great vocals. Obviously leaving some to be desired for bass but even lows are decent & this is a true 4x6. I planed for Focal 4"s to replace these but I'll be saving my $ & sticking w/these. I'd recommend to anyone
Pros: Crystal clear vocals, Tight precise mids, extremly acousticly accurate highs that aren't overbearing or too high pitched, more than adequate lows for a 4x6 in a wide open plastic GM Dashboard without any help of a box or even foam, Price and build quality... Overall a great selection for Sound Quality OR SPL in small(er) factory locations. As long as you are willing to cut a bit of your inner dash (nothing that's visable) than you won't be disappointed with these speakers.
Cons: I had to sink these down over a inch in my dash(alot of cutting) to get the tweeters off the bottom of my dash pad, they still touch. This causes the very large magnet (that otherwise wasn't an issue) to start getting in the way of other things behind the dash like the wiper switch & more in my case. All that said its still worth it for the pros. a separated 4x6 like the Polk & Infinity would be a bolt in install but these out performed them. Although it must be said I havent heard new KAPPA 4x6

Needed to Replace my stock speakers in a 2003 Jeep Wrangler X and these are an excellent choice. Good all around highs and mids and decent bass for their size. Will be adding an amp soon and expect things to get even better
Pros: Great sound quality and well built speaker
Cons: Required slight modification for my application, but nothing earth shattering
