Perfect unit and nice on the eyes!

We didn't know what to expect for this unit at this price, but this is what we found - even after calling Tivoli in Boston. As a comparison, we have a standalone Hifi system for audiophile purposes where we do a lot of Qobuzz and listen to a range of music from Mozart and Brahms, to funk , to Aternative, 80s to Electronic mixes. So was eager to do the side by side. So first -the bass! This will shake your house floors! Who would have guessed a unit this small although 50 amps would put out like that. Second, it is tuned for Spotify and YT music quality - Qobuzz and hidef classical unfortunately sounds pretty bad, but we didn't get it for that anyway. We had a winter fire and brought it out and it boomed across the neighborhood on only volume 9 or 10 (out of 20 I guess). The minimalism is right out of Mash or Lost, we love it. The LED charge indicator light is like a laser beacon, we had to cover it up it will blind you. Now I didn't know it but to use a mic , you need a separate preamp to up the level of a mic for voice or another acoustical instrument (Shure sm54 wouldn't work on its own). And you need unbalanced cables -I think - not even Tivoli rep could tell me. We listen to the radio alot WNRN from Charlottesville, and this is just perfect for that. We love the style and multiple uses, but we play music too, so fits our niche of radio, boom box, amp and minimalist Lost radio to get the French lady's code on the island... :)

Pros: - big bass and loud - tuned for Spotify & Chromecast quality, renders really well - nice LED for switching inputs - nice heavy knobs and switches minimalist feel

Cons: - does not play hidef very well - is heavy like an old 80s boombox - got to say it, it's pricey! we got it on open box special to get the price down

In the internet age of endless music streaming options, you may just find yourself exploring FM radio again. I have with the Tivoli Songbook Max, and it's been a joy! The timeless design begs you to remember what it felt like to flip a switch and turn a knob. A real life three-band equalizer allows you to adjust the sound just so, without diving deep into the settings of some con-fangled touch screen. The Songbook is not just about nostalgia. If your birth year begins with a "2", you will love the high quality Bluetooth connectivity, while three drivers push out clear, detailed, full-range sound that easily carries across your space, indoors or out. The Songbook is equipped with a substantial battery, perfect for extended listening, and also able to charge your other devices.

Pros: Looks AMAZING. Literally anywhere! Way more volume than expected Unmatched build quality Gotta love that FM tuner

Cons: Not the most portable option- it's pretty heavy. Top-mounted menu buttons aren't the easiest to use.

The build quality on this unit is incredible. Smooth sliders and knob. The am/fm reception is hard to beat, especially in my little rural area. I'm also impressed with how loud it can get and the bass response! It vibrated my table. Overall a great product build and wonderful sound.
