This is the fourth BDI piece I have purchased. Can't say enough about the quality. Very well constructed. Very minimal assembly needed.

Pricey yes, but the best cabinet out there

This is my second BDI cabinet after buying an Avion Noir II many years ago. Finally decided I needed a two-channel setup on top of 7.2 and 5.1 in other rooms. The shelving works nicely for a turn table on top, CD player, and 2-channel receiver. I put some fav CD's on the top shelf along with my iPod Nano graveyard that I hope to revive. Got a few vinyl's on the bottom. Like the slotted shelves and back panels for ventilation. It's definitely an audiophile's cabinet; i.e. you're not keeping trinkets or your baseball card collection in this. I give it 4.5 stars because as perfectly functional as it is, there are little craftsmanship errors like 2 or 3 tiny pits in the wood with a white coating underneath, a couple of really minor scratch blotches my guess from the packaging on the trip, and a couple of drill attempts for door mounting screws that the operator quickly aborted. It's really minor/picky things, but you're paying this much so perfection is expected. Why can't they assemble it in Virginia? It's audiophile cabinets not smartphones.
Pros: Very versatile supporting many configurations. Wheels in legs make for easy movement. Slotted panels essential for heat dispersion in high powered equipment.
Cons: Assembled and shipped from overseas and I could tell.

Media Tower - not as configurable as I hoped

I would give this 5 stars except for a couple issues: I wish it were a bit shorter, at 45" the turntable is very high up and takes getting used to. There is some wasted space at the bottom where the back is in about 8" from the back and can't be removed. That bottom space is great if you plan to store LPs there but not great if you want to use the bottom for something else, like your receiver. Also wasted space behind the top compartment where they show cds. I think the open slat door is going to allow a lot of dust into the cabinet. I have another BD I cabinet for my TV that has solid or glass doors which helps keep the dust down. It is, like all BDI furniture, very solid. A great touch is the wheels in the base that allow you to easily pull it out to access the components and cables from behind . The finish is great - I have the chocolate brown that matches my TV cabinet.
Pros: BDI quality build and finish Wheels allow easy access to back Cable management Removable back panels
Cons: Bottom section is not as configurable as I would like Wasted space at top and bottom The Corridor slat door allows dust to enter

BDI Corridor 8172

Fit and finish is excellent. Provides outstanding internal depth to fit today's large AV receivers (mine is a Yamaha Adventage 3080 with room to spare). Rolling feet function provides easy access to rear of cabinet when making up connections, (whole cabinet glides on rollers). Once your satisfied with making your A/V connections & place cabinet location, there are cabinet footings used to level and slightly lift the cabinet off of the rollers.
Pros: Excellent fit and finish. Solid make-up.
Cons: Material wise, none. It is pricey, but beats the pressed wood garbage that is is out there.
