I really I really like this amp. It's preamp from a Marantz 1607 going to totem dream catchers. The sound is warm but clear. I a/b this with emotiva xpa. The latter was very bright and painful despite tone changes. This is a good piece of equipment.

Features

Current Feedback: The MM7025 is equipped with a current feedback circuit and uses the same complimentary push-pull circuit as the far more expensive SM-11S1 power amp, providing minimal phase shift and excellent detail resolution. The current/voltage conversion section has a Wilson current mirror circuit to improve circuit stability and high-speed processing.

Instant Power Supply: The final stage of the power amp uses the same LAPT (high efficiency power transistor) as the SM-11S1, offering instant power supply capability. The power section has a large transformer and Marantz original 15,000 μF / 71 V x 2 block condensers to provide a powerful, presence filled sound.

Heat Dissipation: The chimney-shaped heat sink efficiently processes the heat emitted from each side of the amp and a quiet cooling fan removes the heat from the chassis. A high-sensitivity temperature sensor IC is used to control the cooling fan's rotation speed to match the amount of heat generated by the amp.

Auto Standby: With the Auto Standby Mode is turned on this unit will enter standby mode after approximately 30 minutes (continuous) with no input signal.

Speaker Outputs: The speaker output terminals are binding posts; they are not 5-way posts, but will accept single banana plugs, pin connectors, and bare wire. A plastic collar prevents their use with spade lugs and they're too far apart for dual banana plugs.

Inputs: There are RCA (unbalanced) and XLR (balanced) inputs. Separate switches for the left and right channels specify which is engaged; useful if you're not using the MM7025 as a stereo amp.

Display: A blue indicator on the front panel display and a blue ring around the display light when the power is on; the blue ring around the display can be turned off if you prefer. Separate red indicators on the display light when the protection circuit or Auto Standby feature is engaged.

Remote Power Control: This unit is equipped with a remote power control function; when a compatible Marantz preamp is connected, this unit's power can be switched on and off simultaneously with the preamp. The RCA Remote Control input is connected to the preamp and the Remote Control output can be connected to other compatible Marantz components; CD player, DVD player, Tuner, etc.

Flasher Input: The IR flasher input is useful with universal remote controls; power and mute remote codes are available for the MM7025.

DC Control: The 3.5mm mini-jack input allows the MM7025's power to be controlled by another device (5-15 V). The DC Control output allows the MM7025 to control the power of another compatible device (12 V/44 mA).

I have a Marantz cinema 50 AV. I currently have a pioneer elite hooked up to it. It powers all my second zone speakers (12) in different rooms. Itâ??s not enough power when 3or more rooms are on. Will the mm7025 be enough to power all the rooms?

Hey Lawrence, thanks for the question. So you would actually need something like a 12ch power amp with a BUS connection. If you use that Marantz, it does not have dedicated channels which means you are jamming a bunch of speaker wire together which will affect the overall impedance causing some damage to the amp. If we go with a power amp like the one below, the power will always be stable per channel so no impedance issues and no power drop due to its design so we can guarantee the same output when all channels are driven always, whereas an AV Receiver will drop in power per channel, the more channels you use. The BUS connection on the back means you can take your Zone 2 out on your Marantz and run that into BUS 1 or 2 on the OSD amplifier, and then set all your speakers to the appropriate BUS connection so they will output for Zone 2.

You can connect the Marantz MM7025 stereo power amplifier to the Marantz 7015 using the front preamp output RCAs on the 7015 and connecting with a high-quality RCA cable like the AudioQuest Evergreen in the below link, Morris. There is a performance advantage with the MM7025 delivering more high-current wattage (140-watts) to your left and right mains speakers. I currently have a Marantz AV7703 and MM7055 for my speaker setup. I was recently given a pair of Bose 901 VI and was hoping to use them as surrounds for my system. My question is can I use the 901's with the Bose equalizer through this receiver . I was wanting to buy the Marantz MM7025 and dedicate it to the Bose speakers. Is this possible with using the special Bose equalizer?

So when you use the Bose EQ, you will need an amp that includes a Pre-Out/Main Loop In. These can only be found on select Integrated Amps rather than Power Amps. That would actually be a perfect pairing power wise. Those JBLs are rated to up to 150w at 8-ohm and that amp would drive them up to 140w so you have plenty of headway with that amp to ensure you have full sound output.

Currently have Arcam ST60 that I use as a DAC for stereo listening and pair with Marantz SR5015 for movies all pair with KLH speakers and SVS subwoofer. The Marantz MM7025 will be a great power amp option to get connected into your system. It would run via RCA from the Front L/R pre-outs on your SR5015 into the 7025 to get some more power to your front speakers.

Greetings Jacob. Thank you for your question. The Marantz NR1510 would be on the lower end of the power the 603's would like. They are kind of starving now. The NR1510 has a front preout to run signal to a secondary amplifier. Running the MM7025 to the 603's will really wake them up.

Hey Javier, this amp is only stable down to 6-ohm so it will not be able to properly drive your Martin Logans. Running those speakers on this amp will cause it to work harder than it needs to and eventually you can burn it up while not getting the fullest sound from your speakers.

I have a Marantz 50 that I got to connect my turntable to a pair of passive Fluance bookshelves, a powered sub and the floorstanding Fluance Signature towers. Problem is the towers want 90w and the Marantz 50 only provides 70w. So my floorspeakers don't sound great. Could I add this to the system to power just those towers and have the 50 power the bookshelves and connect the sub?

Hey David, thanks for the question. So looking at that Marantz 50n, it does look like the preouts on the back are active along with the speaker outputs which is good. That means that we can certainly add the Marantz MM7025 in line with that 50n, and the speaker outputs will still send a signal to your bookshelves, while your Fluance Signatures will be getting the 140w from the power amp.

Greetings Mike, and thanks for your question. The PM 6007 has just a fixed record out, that output being fixed would not attenuate the volume, with the control on the PM 6007. Now on the amp. Its just a power amp, it has no control for volume. Technically, you can connect the two, you just would have no way to control the volume or tone on the record out. What you need to use as a preamp for the MM7025 is something with a variable preout.

This power amp cannot be used without a preamp processor or a receiver with preamp outputs. We do have preamp processors and receivers that will work with this power amp and let you connect all three of those devices. I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to get a personal recommendation on which one to use with this power amp.

Nominal impedance ratings take into account that speakers can momentarily drop to lower impedances. The MM7025 could certainly power your Wharfedale Lintons.

Unfortunately no. The Dynaudio Evoke 30 are 4 ohm speakers and the Marantz MM7025 is only stable down to 6 ohms meaning the Evoke 30s would overheat the amp. So there are RCA inputs on that power amp, there are located directly above the XLR inputs. The left and right are separate from each other which can make a little less than obvious. In regards to powering your speakers, you could still use this power amp to run your Klipsch towers however you would need to be mindful of how hard you run those speakers. Out of an abundance of caution, it's understandable to get closer to suggested RMS range though.

I have a Marantz SR7011 with Bowers and Wilkins 703 S2 towers, HTM 71 S2 Center, two SVS PB 2000 Subs, and Polk FXi A6 sides and rears (waiting to afford swapping for B&W sides and rears). Current setup sounds great at higher volume. Wondering if adding this power amp would make much of a difference for home theater and music?

Hello Rich! Thank you for reaching out to us and that is a fantastic question. Using a power amp, especially one like that Marantz MM7025 would make a big difference with your system. You will get more power and better performance out of the speakers connected as opposed to running them directly off of the SR7011 so whether you are using the full theater set up or just music, you will appreciate the difference even at low to moderate volumes.

The Klipsch efficiency should make this a great amp to drive them. I drive KEF R7's which have an efficiency much lower than the Klipsch and I do have to crank it a bit (60%) to make them really come alive, the MM7025 is rated to 140 w rms into 8 ohms, so you should be good to go.

It is a 2 chanel amp. It would power either the floor speakers or the center very well. I use it to bi-amp old Paradigm floor speakers. I love the amp. It brought life back to my speakers. Nice clean power for the price.

I don't own the PM7000N. I own the PM8006. There are pre-outs on the PM8006 that I do not see on the PM7000N. I would suggest checking with Aaron at Crutchfield to confirm. He is good and if he does not know he will find out quickly.

I would like to connect the variable rca output of the na6006 to the single ended unbalanced rca input of the mm7025 and thus drive a Klipsch rp8000f loudspeaker. Would it work ? If yes, do you think that hi-res flac and dsd files from the front panel usb in would sound nice and what kind of cable should be used to connect the two Marantz devices ? Thank You.

Well now that I look a little deeper, you would need a preamp to go between. The MM 7025 had no volume control it's just an amp. So again you would need a preamp. Hope that helps.

This amplifier does not have a subwoofer connection. It is 2 channels with 140 watts of power per channel. It delivers beautiful, balanced sound and effortlessly drives my Martin Logan 60s main speakers. I use a Denon 3500 receiver to drive my center, rear channel, and subwoofer speakers. I would highly recommend the Marantz if you have another power source to drive your subwoofer.

This amp is not designed for a sub pre out. You need an a/v receiver w/pre outs or a stand alone pre amp.

Some subs accept a connection directly from the speaker outputs. If that is not the case, you may need a 3rd device. In my case that device is an ADI-2 DAC and I use the RCA outputs from the DAC to feed my sub. But it does not have to be an expensive DAC. Anything that accepts the low level signal and splits into two would work if it has the correct connectors. For example, if your sub accepts RCA inputs it could be an RCA audio splitter. Then, you can feed one pair of the splitter's output to your amp's inputs another to your subs inputs.

I believe a tuner would need to run through a preamp. If you have a receiver with pre outs, you can use the pre outs with this amp. A receiver includes a tuner. That's what I am doing. Hope that helps.

There will not be any significant improvement in sound quality but the MM2075 will pair nicely with your SR7011 and take a significant amount of the power demands away from your receiver which should help with potential clipping and overheating issues. The MM2075 delivers powerful yet nuanced sound quality and will definitely be an excellent complement to your SR7011.

Great question. I have not heard the Chorus speakers so I can not attest to sound or quality of sound coming out of them via the 7011. They are really efficient speakers, 101db, so you don't need a lot of power However, I have found myself and have been told by others with much more first hand knowledge about this sort of thing that anytime, any speaker has a dedicated power source, like the 7025 (or really any dedicated amp) it will produce a better sound quality than trying to boost it with an internal amp from an AVR and then adding an amp. Less "noise" in the signal + more direct path = better sound. Hope that helps

I wouldn't recommend it. The best way to power any amplifiers is with a power conditioner, especially from power spikes that do happen.

If I remember correctly, the Marantz 2238B receptor doesn't have a ground do the plug won't fit. Given the older circuitry I wouldn't chance it anyway.

I think not. You would have to have some sort of output to connect to a preamp before linking to the power amp. I f there is an output option on the NA I would assume you could link to the power amp via an auxlliary input.

Yes you it can send mono to each front tower speaker as long as the input device hooked up to the amp is sending mono to both speakers. Basically it is a pass-thru from input device to speaker so whatever signal is sent to the right speaker is what is amplified to the right speaker. Whatever signal is sent to the left speaker is what is amplified to the left speaker. The only change to the signals sent is that they are amplified, (made louder), so that the input device doesn't have to have its own amplifiers for each channel. I'm not quite sure what you mean. If you want to only connect one speaker to the amp, vice two, then yes is the answer. An amp is a pretty dump device. It merely amplifies the sound, and maybe cleans up the sinewave of the output from your receiver or preamp device. I have a preamp and eight speakers (no center channel). I use the 7025 for my front left and right. Then another 7 channel amp for the other six surround speakers.

Yes you can. I would check your speaker power maxium as you dont want to overpower them and risk damage. Your tuner/reciever will need to have enough pre out terminals to send signal to two amps.

This is a question for the experts at Crutchfield. As per the "about tech" Website, "...the R-S700 (includes a) multizone/multi-source feature, which allows a listener in Zone 2 to hear a different source than the main room. The receiver's non-powered Zone 2 output requires an amp and two speakers in the second zone. It comes with a separate Zone 2 remote control to operate the receiver from another room. Note: Multizone operation requires running speaker wires and IR (infrared remote) control wires from Zone 1 to Zone 2, which may require professional installation." The Marantz MM7025 will provide very good to excellent power amplification for zone two. Although it has a remote control connection via an RCA plug cable, the Yamaha uses IR. That all depends. Please follow the link above, and see if this will help answer your question. The MM7025 is a two channel amp. The Yamaha R-S700 appears to be a 2 or 4 channel receiver, depending on whether your speakers are 4, 6 or 8 ohms rated. I'm not quite sure that you will gain much with the addition of the MM7025, if all you are using only 2 channels. Best to check the web site at audioholics(dot)com for best practices.

hello I have a sony str-dn1050 and was told this is nice amp ,I would like to buy but want to make sure it will work,i have only two polk speakers as of now and have it bi-amped , had 1 guy say I would need a receiver with pre-amp outputs and had another guy say it will work on zone 2? so im looking for a third opinion? and lets say it does work will I still b able to use all the features of the receiver? thanks for doing the homework on this,i don't want to have to return it..oh and my sony runs on 6 olms if this makes any diff? but ty mark

To bi-amp with that Sony model, you will want to use the Sony to power the high frequency section of your Polks and then connect the Marantz to the zone 2 / "B" speaker outputs of the receiver, to drive the woofers. You will have to go into the set-up menu and select "A+B" speakers. Sony rates the receiver into 6 Ohm loads. All that means is you should be confident that it will drive speakers that are rated at 6 Ohms (or higher) safely. Only analog signals will be output from the "zone 2 / B speaker" output. That should not be an issue.

The short answer is yes, it will turn on automatically. I use an RCA cable from my Marantz NR1510 receiver's remote control "output", and connected to the remote "input" on the MM7025. I use the pre-amp output from the NR1510, connected to the MM7025, which drive my older Klipsch RF-82's very well. Pretty sweet in fact!

So frustrating it has no auto on feature... I have 5 airplay zones in my home and need and amps I can leave installed in a cabinet that turn on and off automatically when signal is sensed from an Airport Express. I have some older Sonance amps that do that now, but 2 have failed and I need to start replacing them with something better.

I have the mm7025 hooked up to a Marantz receiver there is a remote control cable as well as signal cables to the amp from the receiver. When I turn the receiver on the amp comes on .5 sec delay. the amp stays on as long as the receiver is on. It does go into standby mode when there is no audio signal present, but when in standby the ON blue light stays lit and the fan shuts down. The Amp is truly amazing as far as construction, twice the amp for the money compared to other brands..

I have seen no evidence that it has an auto on feature. My answer would be no to your specific question. However, it does have the capability to install a "trigger", which detects that another device has been turned on. For instance, I have a series of amps, only have to turn on one, the rest are automatically triggered.

It depends on how hard you push the Klipsch now and how stout a 100W the Sony receiver is. Most A/V receivers, especially towards the lower end of the market, can't deliver anything like their rated power to all channels simultaneously. The Klipsch should be a relatively easy load, though, so unless you're really rockin', your Sony receiver should have enough power to drive them easily -for stereo music that is. If you like to crank up action flicks, putting an amp like the Marantz on the front channels will really lighten the load on your receiver. And even for stereo music listening, if you like the bass and like to listen at life-like levels, the bigger, beefier amp will definitely do a better job.

It does have a cooling fan. It's speed is matched to the amount of heat that is being generated. I have had this amp for over a year, use it almost daily and have never heard the fan run. This amp has a very low operating temperature.
