Current Feed Amplification: Current Feedback amplification, a renowned Marantz-proprietary circuit technology, is thoughtfully designed to match the requirements of Super Audio hi-res music for wide-bandwidth, high-speed reproduction. The impedance at the Current Feedback point is limited, generating a very low phase shift. Marantz Current Feedback amplifiers reduce the need for phase compensation by minimizing Negative Feedback (NFB). This simplifies the signal path and results in a high through-rate, excellent transient response and superb sonic transparency across the full bandwidth. Unlike conventional Voltage Feedback topology, Current Feedback renders the power amplifier nearly immune to difficult loudspeaker loads.

  • 8-Ohm Rating: 60 watts x 2 channel at 20Hz to 20kHz with 0.02% THD
  • 4-Ohm Rating: 80 watts x 2 channel at 20Hz to 20kHz with 0.02% THD

Marantz HDAM-S3 Technology: Marantz developed its own discrete circuit boards called Hyper-Dynamic Amplifier Modules, or HDAMs, to replace the chip-based amps used elsewhere. Using discrete surface mount components with short mirror-image left and right signal paths, HDAMs outperform the regular integrated Op-amps dramatically in Slew Rate and noise level. The result is much more dynamic, accurate and detailed sound. Over the years, Marantz developed different HDAMs to fit the particular requirements of each player and amplifier. The PM7000N uses the high-grade SA3 version.

Toroidal Transformer: A Toroidal transformer offers several advantages that derive from its efficiency and power capability. The shape of it lends to low levels of electromagnetic radiation and mechanical vibration, producing improved sound quality over what you might experience with dated transformer models.

Separate Power Supply Circuits: In order to reduce power consumption in stand-by, the PM7000N features dual power supply circuits. While in standby, the digital SMPS power supply is active so the network can wake up the PM7000N. When switching to operation mode, the SMPS power is switched off and the toroidal transformer is activated to supply the necessary high-current to reproduce the Marantz sonic signature.

Electronic Volume Control with HDAM: A newly developed electric volume control uses the latest volume control IC coupled with Marantz HDAM to deliver better channel separation, dynamic range, improved S/N ratio and distortion-reduction, while retaining the operational feel of an analog volume control device. The amplifier employs new Marantz-designed electric volume control for high linearity and best-in-class channel separation.

Shielded Digital Circuit: To preserve the analog circuit from digital interferences or noise radiation, the digital circuit is installed into a shield case, preventing interference. The wireless digital boards can also be completely switched off independently using "Pure Modes" to avoid any interferences.

Audio Controls: The Marantz PM7000N integrated amplifier offers Bass & Treble adjustment, 3 Pure Modes, a Source Direct Function, and an adjustable Volume Limit.

  • Bass & Treble: You can manually adjust the integrated amplifier's Bass (50Hz) and Treble (15kHz) from -10dB to +10dB.
  • Pure Modes: The PM7000N is equipped with three "Pure Modes", allowing you to disable entire broadcasting audio blocks and prevent interference when listening to analog sources. Pure Modes can be individually switched off between network & USB-A, WiFi and/or Bluetooth to provide the best musical experience.
  • Source Direct Function: To ensure the shortest signal path and highest fidelity, the PM7000N features Marantz Source Direct function, which bypasses the tone and balance control circuitry for a straight path, delivering elevated sound purity.
  • Volume Limit: The integrated amplifier's Volume Limit can be set to 80, 85, 90, 95, or Off (100/Max).

Optical & Coaxial Digital Inputs: The Marantz PM7000N is outfitted with two optical (toslink) digital inputs and one coaxial (RCA) digital input. The optical and coaxial digital inputs support 2ch PCM audio files, up to 24-bit/192kHz (not compatible with Dolby Digital or DTS). The integrated amplifier powers up automatically when sensing a digital input from a TV.

Analog Inputs & Outputs: The Marantz network integrated amplifier features three stereo RCA line-level analog inputs and one stereo RCA line-level analog output.

MM Phono Input: The Marantz PM7000N is equipped with a MM Phono input to connect a turntable. The PM7000N integrates a FET (field-effect transistors) in its Phono input stage. This provides high input impedance, eliminates the need for AC coupling capacitors, and simplifies the signal path, lowering distortion and noise vastly improving the signal purity overall.

High Quality Binding Posts: The network integrated amplifier features a set of heavy-duty, dense brass binding post speaker output terminals with thick silver plating to provide the best possible contact and signal transfer with your speaker cables. The binding post terminals will accept bare wire (up to 10AWG, pin-connectors, and banana plus (single only). You can connect a pair of 8-ohm or 4-ohm loudspeakers.

Mono Subwoofer Output: The Marantz PM7000N is outfitted with a mono-RCA subwoofer output for connecting a powered subwoofer. The integrated amplifier has a variable low pass subwoofer crossover that can be set to 40, 60, 80, 100, or 120Hz.

1/4" Headphone Jack: The PM7000N features a front-panel 1/4" headphone jack to plug in your set of headphones (the speakers will automatically mute when headphones are plugged in).

Network & HEOS Audio

Does the PM7000n pair well with monitor audio silver 300(7g) speakers?Because this speaker's min. watt requirement 80-200 w
emin  Mar 03, 2023
1 answer
A more powerful integrated amplifier would be ideal for this project. It is preferable to at least meet the minimum recommended power for speakers.
zachary  Mar 08, 2023 (Staff)
What do you think about pairing this amp with a monitor audio silver 100 7g? thanks a lot

I never heard about this speaker before, although the reviews are amazing, this is still a shelf book speaker. I would look for a full range floor speaker, probably in the same price and quality.
daniel  Mar 03, 2023
I paired it with Golden Ear BRX and it drives them beautifully. I think it will do the same for the Audio Silvers based upon their specs.
michael  Mar 03, 2023
You should be fine. I have my Marantz PM 7000N connected to a pair of Klipse AW-650 Outdoor speakers, and the amp has no problem driving the speakers.
john  Mar 03, 2023
I haven't listened to this combination but I'm sure the PM7000N is capable of driving these speakers to their full potential.
bill  Mar 02, 2023
I dunno. I returned the item when it was delivered. I found that it was made in China not Japan as the pictures indicated.
john  Mar 02, 2023
Im thinking buy a pair of Paradigm 200g premier or ELAC Uni-Fi Reference UBR62 wich one fits best with Marantz 7000? I will not will use subwoofer. Thanks
garber  Feb 21, 2023
1 answer
From a power perspective, the Marantz would be a more direct fit for the ELAC speakers but there are some other factors like sensitivity that could still make the Paradigm towers a strong contender. If you wanted to discuss your particular set up in greater detail we have experts available at 800.324.9695 so please give us a call at 800.324.9695 and we will get you taken care!

Is the Marantz PM700N a good fit for the Polk R200 or the Wharfedele Denton 85? Thank you.
krishna  Jan 22, 2023
1 answer
The high quality clean power you get from the Marantz integrated amp would be a good match for either of the Wharfedale or the Polk bookshelf speakers. You will be able to get performance without having to push that unit to its maximum capacity in order to really enjoy your music at low to moderate volumes. If you are trying to fill a large room with sound then you could consider going with a more powerful amplifier and we have friendly advisors standing by at 800.324.9695 to discuss other options so please give us a call and we will get you taken care of!

Is it possible to use Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-8060FA speakers with this amp? Is there a DIY solution to making them work with this amp? Received them for Christmas and am unsure where to start.
george  Jan 06, 2023
1 answer
Unfortunately those speakers with this integrated stereo is not a great match. The Marantz PM7000N is only meant to be used as a 2 channel stereo set up. You can still take advantage of the tower speakers on the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-8060FA, but there's no way to incorporate the Atmos portion of the speakers into this set up. The Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-8060FA were designed with the intention of configuring them into a home theater set up for use with Dolby Atmos surround sound format that creates a height layer of sound above the listener.

Can the tone controls be adjusted via remote?
b  Dec 13, 2022
1 answer
The remote cannot be used to adjust the tone controls. It must be adjusted using the dials on the front of the amp.

I have Krix speakers 2 floor standing and a sub, is it possible to connect a centre speaker?
justin  Nov 23, 2022
1 answer
Greetings Justin, and thank you for your question. The Marantz PM7000N is a 2 channel stereo integrated amplifier. What you need for a center channel is an AV surround receiver. Something like the NR1510.

I am thinking of adding a power amplifier to Marantaz PM 7000. Is it possible to use Maranta PM 7000 as preamplifier ?If yes, how?
taek  Nov 20, 2022
1 answer
Greetings Victor, and thank you for your question. Technically no. The PM7000N does have a record out. That is fixed, and a lower signal strength than a pre amp out. It can be used on an amplifier that has its own volume, and tone controls, but again the signal will be weaker.

if you have an HDMI connection at both ends it will work. This, by the way, is an excellent piece of electornic equipment with outstanding features.

I don't believe that this unit supports HDMI..

There are 2 optical inputs for TV
thomas  Aug 14, 2021
This is a basic question about HEOS functionality, not necessarily about audio quality: If I am playing from a turntable, can I both play both through wired speakers and to wireless speakers? The use case is the following: most of our listening is in the main room of the house on the turntable. In the summers I would like to have a flexible option to spread the sound out onto the deck.
douglas  Apr 17, 2021
1 answer
The HEOS interface in this integrated amp does allow the audio currently being played through speakers connected to its speaker level outputs that is coming from any of its analog and digital audio inputs ((including Optical, Coaxial, Line-Level, and Phono) to be wireless sent to other HEOS equipment.

I have my Marantz PM7000n paired with some Polk Audio LSIm 703 bookshelf speakers. The sound is great but I am thinking of adding a subwoofer. Has anyone use the PM7000n with a bookshelf speakers/subwoofer set up and if so, are you happy with that combination?

I have Paradigm monitors paired with a 12 inch Paradigm sub. The sub fills the bottom end nicely. Cutoff controls in the amp are helpful to keep unwanted frequencies out of the sub.
peter  Jan 23, 2022
Hello - Yes, very happy with the combination. I have a pair of Klipsch RP-600M's paired with a Klipsch R-10SWi. The subwoofer is able to add the missing bottom end without making things sound muddy the most bookshelf speakers lack. There is a paragraph or two in the manual on how to properly set the crossover in the Marantz up and match it to you sub, it should take no more that 1 or 2 minutes. After that you will begin to hear things in music that you never knew were there. I couldn't imagine at this point not having one.
brett  Feb 16, 2021
I have a Polk subwoofer attach to mine and it sounds great! Would absolutely recommend adding one to your system.
mike  Feb 14, 2021
I had the PM7000N with Martin Logan bookshelf speakers for a couple of weeks before adding a subwoofer. The sound improved a lot with the subwoofer.
juan  Feb 14, 2021
I use the PM7000n with a bookshelf speakers/subwoofer set up. I would recommend it. For me the sub added the low (under 50hz) that was sorely lacking. I looked around a bit and finally settled on the supercube 4000. (Crutchfield has this model). Works well for my purpose. Hope this helps.
claus ingo  Feb 14, 2021
Yes I have an SVS 500 watt sub and it's amazing. Use it mostly for movies though. Also had an adjustable know to turn the bass up and down.
matthew s  Feb 14, 2021
This should be a good pairing with my SVS SB 2000 pro Subwoofer right?
thomas  Dec 10, 2020

This receiver will work with that subwoofer and even has the LFE output designed for a sub like that SVS

robert  Dec 10, 2020

The Marantz PM7000N can receive Bluetooth for audio streaming but cannot transmit Bluetooth to headphones. It does feature a headphone output for a wired headphone connection.

With my marantz pm 7000n integrated amp, can I use denon 150 wireless speakers and wharfedale wired speakers with it?
tim  Jun 13, 2020
4 answers
I would think so using HEOS. The Marantz PM7000N is the main HEOS zone and the Denon Home 150 is a second zone. In HEOS you would group them together. Whatever you play on the Marantz would go out the speakers attached to it and the same stream would go to the 150. I was doing that today on my Marantz SR7013 and one of my Denon Home 150's.
jerald  Jun 13, 2020
Yes, I use the Marantz PM7000n to send music to Denon 150 wireless speakers throughout my home - a single Denon 150 one floor above, and a pair of 150s in stereo configuration two floors above. Setup was quite easy.
vernon  Jun 13, 2020
Definitely works with denon .
harvey  Jun 13, 2020
I don't know. But if the question is can the marantz connect with both the Denon and wired speakers at the same time, I will say that I can do that with my Marantz NR1710, Denon, and Bose Accoustimass.

Do I lose any functionality buying the PM7000N over the combination of the NA6006 and PM6006? Sub question - can I plug my iPhone with a USB cable and play music (using the DAC in amp)
arvind  May 06, 2020

You don't lose any functionality going to the PM7000N. The USB input does not support music playback from an Apple or Android device.
casey  Jun 01, 2020 (Staff)
i haven't used the usb connection yet, but i have my PM7000N connected to my home network using the ethernet connection. streaming from my computer works great. have also connected to a laptop using bluetooth and played music from the laptop that way. was easy to connect and worked very well also.
john  May 27, 2020
I purchased the PM7000N an absolutely love it. You can use USB-A, Airplay or the HEOS app. The HEOS app allows you to stream from a variety of services (AMZ, Spotify, etc.) as well as directly from your phone. You really don't need to be tethered. Note that the PM7000N does not have a Type-B USB input and therefore cannot be used as a USB DAC when connected directly to a computer.
mortimer  May 27, 2020
While I cannot answer the functionality part of your question, I just plugged my iPhone into the PM7000N and it did not recognize it as a USB storage device. Just to note, this unit has both Bluetooth AND Airplay capabilities and I am able to play music, as well as, stream live music directly from my iPhone to the amplifier using either of those connectivity methods.
mike  May 27, 2020
How do you choose the music to listen to from a thumb drive plugged into an integrated amp with a Type-A USB Port, like the Marantz PM7000N? I put all my music into folders.
jeff  Apr 22, 2020

Good morning Jeff, Sorry I did not answer the Bluetooth part, but here it goes. You will be able to play anything that is in your smart phone or tablet by way of Bluetooth to the unit, it will sound great. Unfortunately, I was not able to access my USB library or use HEOS through Bluetooth. My best guess is that Bluetooth is for sending sound between units and not commands. I could not figure it out. Sorry.
jason  Apr 25, 2020
Hi Jeff: The unit's HEOS system will be able to read any information within in the files, for example artist, albums and tracks. I put my iTunes music library file from my computer into a 1tb external drive and it works great.

Can this stream MQA tracks from Tidal?
byrson  Apr 22, 2020

The PM7000N can stream from Tidal
matthew  Apr 26, 2020
Hi byrson h: I've had the PM7000N for several months and I have not been able to play MQA files at their appropriate resolution using the unit's HEOS system. Tidal MQA files can be played, but are streamed at FLAC resolution 44.1khz/16bit. I also checked the unit's manual and it does not mention MQA, so I'm assuming you would need an external DAC that is MQA capable. On the other hand I can tell you that the PM700N plays high resolution files through Amazon Music HD (which costs less than TIDAL) and they sound pretty good. The trade off with Amazon Music HD, is that it's not supported in HEOS, For example, you can't shuffle songs. Hope this answer helped.
jason  Apr 23, 2020
It does support many of the codecs from the "hi def" tier from tidal but as yet I can neither confirm or deny that mqa is one of them..
claus ingo  Apr 22, 2020
Internet/ satellite radio can be streamed directly to this unit via an app called HEOS. I use it for Sirius XM and it works flawlessly. While I do not have other streaming accounts, I see options in the app to stream the following: pandora, Spotify, amazon music, tune in, deezer, Napster, I heart radio, SiriusXM,SoundCloud, tidal, rhapsody. The unit also functions as an independent airplay receiver and can receive signals from other air play devices.
mike  Apr 22, 2020
The HEOS App works with Tidal.
gregory  Apr 22, 2020
Can you use the USB input to connect a PC for streaming, or just for thumb drives?
bruce  Mar 18, 2020
1 answer
Hi Bruce. Thank you for your question. The USB drive on the Marantz PM700N can be used to connect to a PC, or external hard drive for audio playback, as long as the music files are in a supported audio file format. Hope this helps.

How well would this intergrated amp do pushing the new JBL L100 classic 4 ohm speakers?
randal  Feb 16, 2020

Yes, I have a pair of Polk Legend L200s that are also 4ohms with an 85.5DB sensitivity and the PM7000N puches theme very well.
jason  Apr 23, 2020
Very well! I have been impressed at how much power it has only being rated at 60 watts into 8 ohms in my case. I was using a Sony STR-DH190 Receiver before and it is rated at 90 into 8 ohms and the Marantz blows it away.
dale  Mar 11, 2020
Can the volume be displayed on this unit's display screen? Thank you.

Yes the volume does show on the front panel display.
casey  Feb 02, 2020 (Staff)
yes it is on mine.
harriet  Jan 31, 2020
Volume only displays when it is being changed. When you stop turning the knob (or remote buttons, or HEOS app slider) it reverts to the programmed audio after a couple of seconds.

Does this integrated amp have enough power to really push my Martin Logan Vistas electrostatic speakers? How about if I also use it to run a separate subwoofer?
david  Dec 26, 2019

Yes I think the toroidal transformer and separate power supply circuits would do justice to those Vistas. It does have a preamp subwoofer output for connecting a powered subwoofer.

While they do not specify the branding of the DAC. It is capable of 192kHz/24 bit.
