Best Value
John from Valdosta, GA on 4/7/2025
Hands down the best sounding and looking speakers on the market. All the reviews for the 12.3's are outstanding and it's easy to see why they are so difficult to get. Thanks to Crutchfield for a great shopping experience and all their help.

Great sound and aesthetics!
Crutchfield customer from Heidelberg, MS on 7/24/2024
I love the balance and tonality of these floor speakers! They really are a good blend of sounds and beauty in the listening room. I use my sub but only from 44hz down to fill the full audio spectrum, but these do kick bass and get down to 40hz with no problem. I highly recommend these for audio and theater needs.
Pros: Great soundstage and harmonics, Small but packs a growl!, Dual wire Binding posts, and good speaker floor mounts.
Cons: Dont go full audio spectrum on low end! (40hz and below)

Beautiful sound, but keep in mind that they need to be quite separated from the back wall. If you don't give enough separation bass will sound very muddy.

Really wanted to love this speaker, the bass is awesome, strong midrange. But the treble! There is something extra going on that is distracting. I am sensitive to treble issues. Beautiful speakers provide for simple set up. But the treble issue for me. Love Crutchfield , been a customer for 40 plus years and I have never had a bad experience. Love that I can try a product for up to 60 days in my living room.

Warm sounding high quality British Audio
Gary from Overland Park, KS on 12/21/2023
Love these speakers, solid build quality, sound amazing. They're not huge speakers for floor standing units, but don't let that put you off.
Pros: Beautiful warm sound, detailed even at very low volume. Solid build.

Wharfedale Diamond 12.3
Crutchfield customer from Reno, NV on 2/9/2022
I couldn't be happier! I was looking to upgrade from a pair of vintage Wharfedale 60's and did lots of research, finally narrowing it down to these and the Klipsch RP5000F. Ronald was great help. I decided on these based on my experience with Klipsch bookshelf speakers in the past. They just seemed overly bright. Seems like the British sound that I enjoyed with my old Wharfedales is baked into these 12.3's. To my ears these offer great detail, a perfect amount of bass (without a subwoofer),excellent mids and clear highs without being harsh at all. It does seem like they needed a couple hours of listening to really "settle in" but that may be related to the cross country shipping through frigid temps and me connecting them as soon as UPS dropped them off. I have them connected to a restored Pioneer SX-980 and I listen to all kinds of music from vinyl and streaming sources.

The long search is over! These speakers are great! I am running them with a Cambridge CXA81 and a Audiolab 6000CDT transport. What a sound! the room is 12x18. I have the speakers 12 " off the wall. Very balanced. Plenty of deep bass. Crisp&punchy. Loads of detail. Super pleased these speakers!!!!!!
Pros: Great price, don't take up much space.
Cons: None

Two thumbs way up
Ricardo from LITITZ, PA on 12/29/2021
Matching stereo components is part black magic, dedicated research, and risk-taking. I minimized the risk by dealing with a great company like Crutchfield and their exchange or return policy. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly these speakers reviled themselves as a step above what I had been listening to. The drums on a number of recordings came right to the front as did mid-range frequencies I had not heard before. I intended to match my new speakers with a sub-woofer because I love the bass they provide. I stretched my budget to buy these and they did not disappoint, I also used Crutchfield's three payment plan which was a bonus.
Pros: reasonably sized floor speaker, remarkable high and mid-range frequency response
Cons: speaker floor spike setup doesn't match the overall high-end cabinet

Wharfedale has done it again!!!!!!
Tony from Guam on 2/18/2021
I purchased the 12.3 towers to upgrade from the Denton 85 bookshelf. The Dentons are smooth and I like them. My goal with the 12.3 was to eliminate my subwoofer, due to limited space. My room size is 10ft x 10ft (a small Man Cave). Also the 12.3 towers actually have a smaller footprint when considering stands the Dentons set on. The 12.3 towers are smoother, and a bit faster than the Dentons. They sound fuller (a bit more natural) and the low-end extension is superb! I was able to take out my subwoofer without noticing one bit. The specs on these towers say the go down to 45hz, actually sounds more like 30-35hz just like my Klipsch sub. NOTE: when my speakers arrived one foot stand was cracked during shipping. I was disappointed?. Not an issue due to Crutchfield having the absolute "best customer service" in the world! The Crutchfield team somehow managed to get me a replacement shipped within 24 hours (thanks for the follow up Susan K.). I must also mention Colt who took all the extra time needed. He made absolutely sure I got the right speakers for my needs. Job well done!
Pros: Smooth sound, small footprint, Elegant looking, Superb low-freq extension, Cost vs Value is excellent!
Cons: Larger size rooms may need the 12.4 and a subwoofer
