Beautiful Sound and Finish
Jack from Burnsville, NC on 5/17/2025
These are very nice speakers. They sound excellent. I will have to burn them in a bit but they will only get better. These were the real walnut veneer and they are absolutely stunning. They have different finishes so give them a look.
Pros: Great sound. Beautiful finish.
Cons: None

Monitor Audio 300 7G's -
Tom from LAGUNA BEACH, CA on 1/23/2025
After much research on speakers with my limited space and positioning options I decided on the 300 7G's. They replaced my venerable B&W 580's which served me well and sonically were great for many years. The first thing I noticed on the 300 7G's was the build quality. Frankly much better than the 580. I compared them sonically side by side and while the dual 8" drivers on the 580's had deeper base, the mid ranges were far better on the 300 7g's. The base on the 300 7G is still great, but not as room filling, although I have a Subwoofer that takes care of that. The high end was far clearer and detailed on the 300 7g's and overall there was a far better clarity and richness with the 300 7G's - especially in the mid-ranges (which I prefer). Which is saying something about the Monitor Audio dual 6" drivers. I've had chance to listen to a wide variety of music and the Monitor Audio 300's never disappoint. They are paired with an NAD C388 Integrated Amp, NAD 568 CD Player, and Brennan B3+, and a legacy Carver TDR1550 Cassette Player.
Pros: Build Quality, aesthetics, overall sound quality is great , mid-ranges are exceptional, and the high-end is clean and detailed without sounding harsh. Bass is plenty adequate consider these are only 6" drivers. If youre tight on space, these are excellent options.
Cons: not a thing.....

Not bad
Duck from WINNECONNE, WI on 1/13/2024
I tried these Silver 300 7G's for over 80 hours of play time. I agree with others that bass response and sound stage are good with decent imaging but the high end sounds like a transistor radio from 1967. The tweeter doesn't mate well with the rest.
Pros: Bass and stereo separation are good
Cons: High end not the best especially while standing or walking around the speakers

Monitor Audio Silver 300 7G- Very Pleased
Bill from Anderson, SC on 1/11/2024
Over the years I have had a number of speakers and have probably tended toward the B&W "sound." I used the Crutchfield speaker compare program along with my Sony studio headphones to audition a number of highly reviewed floor standing units including Bowers and Wilkins 700 series, KEF 5/7 Meta, Sonus Farber, Focal, Wharfdale, Monitor Audio, etc. Every time I kept coming back to the Monitor Audio Silver series. The 500's have more bass, but were a little large for my listening room. The 300's are exactly what I thought they would be, detailed, revealing with well integrated mid and highs, and very surprising tight bass for the size of the speakers. Extremely pleased and grateful for the speaker compare function on the Crutchfield website to help audition a number of high quality speakers.
Pros: Detailed and revealing mid's and high's but not too bright Attractive and well made slim cabinets Excellent bass for size of drivers
Cons: Some might want sub,, but not needed on most material

Excellent, great value at $2600

I've been enjoying the break-in period for the past month. I'd say they are now settled in. The Silver 300 7Gs replaced A pair of Wharfedale Linton Heritage speakers with stands which I enjoyed quite a bit. They replaced an earlier version of the Monitor Audio Silver 6s which were also quite good. I've listened with a couple different set ups. One of which was the Schiit Audio Freya+ preamp (tubed) with 2 Schiit Vidar Amps (bi-amped). I was very impressed, better than the Wharfedales which are very nice sounding. The Monitors are more detailed throughout without any etchiness, in fact they have a more extended top end but manage to keep it silky and smooth without loss of detail and an easy listen. The mids are exceptional tonally and again very nuanced and full without sounding too warm or cool. The details and pace are outstanding. The lows are as deep as the Wharfedales but definitely more controlled and tighter, not at all lean or flabby. I can say they're the best I've owned, including the Linn Ninkas's and the B&W 804s. Also currently listening with a smaller rig w/ the Rogue Sphinx ver3 integrated amp. The 100 watts per channel are definitely enough to get great sound out of the monitors. It's a superb match but I would say the Schiit Freya and biamped Vidars have the slightest of edges in terms of micro detail, the Vidars are putting out 400 WPC though I'm perfectly content with the Rogue and perfectly satisfied. The 300 7g's will disappear with well recor

Nice Upgrade
Josh from Spokane, WA on 10/13/2022
So far so good. I am powering these with an NAD T778. Upgrading from Polk monitor 60s, which in my opinion were no slouch for the $$$, these are a night and day difference. In addition to their excellent sound, they look incredible. I am still in the break in phase, out the box they were a skosh underwhelming (I say this while still acknowledging that they sounded great on day one), but they are sounding better literally every day.
Pros: Excellent sound. Excellent appearance.
Cons: Kind of a large footprint for smaller spaces. Takes some time to break them in.

Great all-purpose speaker, no speciality
Paul from Hanover, NH on 3/29/2022
Like a great all-mountain ski, like a good cross country mountain bike, a sweet and savory snack, a dog that will hike for miles but will be chill just hanging on the couch, a speaker of many talents. This speaker has excellent bass and articulate highs. Most importantly it delivers on vocals, with its dedicated midrange driver (which the Bronze series was unable to accomplish for me). This is a fun speaker that does it all. Sounds great with music but is articulate enough for dialogue in movies. So, what's the downside? I found the sound of both the Monitor Audio Bronze and Silver series to give a metallic resonance to human voices. Obviously we can't make speaker cones out of whatever vocal chords are made of, that would be too heavy, not to mention expensive and, well, strange. So aluminum is a popular option. It is lightweight, rigid, cost effective and punchy. Woven fibers may sound a little softer and "warmer", maybe a little more "natural" but may lack that engaging punch. Polymers might have some snap but lack warmth. Paper may be very articulate, detailed and warm but may become distorted at high volumes. Does aluminum work for most applications? Yes! Does Monitor Audio implement it better than many others? Yes! In the end this speaker didn't connect with me. I am going to dip my ears into the market of soft dome tweeters and non-metal mid-drivers and see if that gives me the sound I'm searching for.
Pros: The sound is great, bass is weighty and punchy, mids are articulate, highs are snappy. Would be a good dual purpose music/movie speaker.
Cons: This speaker needs a lot of space from the wall, the rear port needs a lot of room to breath (once set right though, they sound great!). The aluminum midrange driver, while articulate and detailed, gave a metallic resonance to vocals and dialogue (in my opinion). I'm going to try for another speaker with softer materials in the tweeter and mid driver.

New Silver 300
Joel from Pensacola, FL on 1/8/2022
Bought these 7th generation monitor audio silver 300s after having one of the first generation models! Sound is definitely better! Bigger sound stage more definition but not as harsh as my previous model! Midrange is different and better! Female voices are smoother. The walnut veneer in these are more natural looking but im not sure id say the finish is as good as the old model. I think the finish on the old ones is smoother just better quality. The old ones are also heavier so not sure if that is positive or negative! Like i said overall sound is just better in the new ones! I really enjoy listening to them more!
