Features
3-Way Driver Design: The MoFi SourcePoint 888 incorporates a 3-way design that features two newly developed 8" woofers alongside a concentric high-frequency/midrange driver configuration. This 3-way concentric driver configuration creates a seamless, powerful soundstage, with exceptional bass extension and dynamic range. The design philosophy ensures a cohesive sound profile, where bass, midrange, and treble frequencies are in perfect harmony - delivering a sound that is both pure and impactful.
Concentric Tweeter/Midrange Driver Configuration: The SourcePoint 888's concentric high-frequency/midrange driver configuration consists of an 8" cone midrange driver with a centrally located 1.25" tweeter that is mounted on the center axis of the midrange and is positioned at the apex of the cone. The common axis removes the spatial disparity and eliminates the distance and timing differences between the midrange and tweeter. The 8" midrange driver delivers exceptional detail and clarity, while also acting as a consistent waveguide around the tweeter for the most coherent sound possible, with the least amount of distortion. Fitted centrally within the 8" midrange driver is a 1.25" soft-dome tweeter with a wide-roll surround and large diameter voice coil. The tweeter has great power handling and minimal thermal compression, allowing it to come in at 1.6kHz and deliver smooth response beyond 30kHz.
8" Paper Cone Bass Woofers: The dual 8" paper cone bass woofers employ dual opposing neodymium magnets in a configuration that employs a short coil in a long magnetic gap. The magnetic field is entirely uniform throughout the gap, resulting in a very linear and precisely controlled force for driving the cone to deliver deep, accurate bass.
High-Quality Cabinet Construction: Each 8" bass woofer and the concentric driver configuration operates in its own optimally sized individual isolated chamber of the floorstanding speaker enclosure. The SourcePoint 888's cabinet uses thick MDF panels and extensive internal bracing, adding considerable stiffness to the cabinet to help reduce cabinet resonances. The top, bottom, and sides are 1" thick MDF wrapped in beautiful real wood veneer. The multi-faceted front baffle is 2" thick MDF finished in a smooth satin black coating. Two internal braces connect the top, sides, and bottom to further strengthen the cabinet.
- Multi-Facted Baffle: The front baffle is the launch point for the three 8" drivers. It needs to be strong and free of sound reflection. The SourcePoint 888 uses a sculpted baffle with multiple facets to eliminate diffraction. All you hear is the smooth and even response of the driver, not the sound of the cabinet.
- Real Wood Veneers: The SourcePoint 888 uses furniture-grade real wood veneer that is book matched for mirror-imaged grain patterns on both of the speakers. The SourcePoint 888 has a unique combination of modern and classic style which suits a wide variety of interiors. You can choose between Black, White, or Walnut.
Bass Reflex Design: The MoFi SourcePoint 888's speaker cabinet employs a bass reflex design with triple rear firing ports for greater efficiency and bigger bass response. The three bass ports have been carefully fine tuned to prevent unwanted port noise ("chuffing") that can lead to distortion of sound.
Magnetic Grille: The SourcePoint 888 speaker includes a fabric-wrapped grille that attaches magnetically and is perfectly form-fitting to retain the profile of the speaker cabinet's distinguished multi-faceted baffle.
Dual Binding Posts: The SourcePoint 888 speaker is outfitted with two sets of high-quality, sturdy binding posts allowing to bi-amp or bi-wire the floorstanding loudspeaker. These binding posts ensure a secure connection to many types of cable and connectors. The binding post terminals will accept banana plugs (single only), pin-connectors, spade-lugs and bare wire (up to 10AWG). The speaker has a nominal impedance of 6-ohm with a minimum impedance of 4.5-ohm.
- Bi-Wiring: Bi-wiring can provide noticeable improvements in the overall transparency of your loudspeakers. Run separate speaker wires to the low & high frequency drivers from a single amplifier (the upper set of binding posts are for the high frequency drivers; the lower set of binding posts are for the low frequency drivers).
- Bi-Amping: Bi-amping allows you to use separate amplifiers for the high & low frequency sections of your loudspeaker for greater dynamic range & lower distortion. We recommend that your separate amplifiers have identical gain to preserve the speaker's voicing balance.
Isolation & Spike Feet: The MoFi SourcePoint 888 comes packaged with two sets of feet options to allow optimal placement on a variety of floor types. The included flat isolation feet should be used on hardwood, tile, laminate, and vinyl flooring. The included cone spike feet are perfect for carpeted flooring. The feet will need to be installed on the bottom of the floorstanding speaker cabinet. The feet are adjustable for uneven flooring.
- A pair of speakers should be positioned so they form an equilateral triangle with the main listening position. Each speaker should then be angled ("toed-in") toward the listener. With the concentric-driver utilized in this speaker, you may get best results by rotating the speakers so that their axes points slightly in front of or behind the listener.
- The speaker should be positioned approximately 1' to 3' away from boundaries such as walls and corners. Close proximity to a side or rear wall will enhance bass responsiveness, but if the speakers are positioned too close to a boundary, the bass may sound excessive or "boomy".
Note: Always use the MoFi SourcePoint 888 speaker with the isolation feet or spike feet installed for maximum stability and optimum sound performance.

Love these at all volumes. Chose to not include sub in this system and has plenty base.
