Features

All Weather Durability: With an IP45 rating, the Jamo JR-6 rock loudspeaker is lab tested and certified to offer great outdoor audio year in and year out. The rock speaker's UV-resistant, fiberglass cabinet and rust-proof aluminum grille provides the utmost in all-weather capability. Its granite or standstone finish and compact design allows the JR-6 to blend seamlessly into almost any outdoor living spaces.

2-Way Driver Design: The Jamo JR-6 rock loudspeaker features a 2-way driver design with two 0.75" aluminum dome tweeters and one 6.5" dual-voice coil IMG (Injected Molded Graphite) cone woofer for detailed, dynamic, and balanced outdoor sound.

Stereo Reproduction: The Jamo JR-6 rock speaker is equipped with dual 18" bare-wire inputs, a dual-voice coil woofer, and dual tweeters for true stereo reproduction from a single speaker. The rock speaker's dual bare-wire inputs can also be summed to mono for maximum system flexibility in any listening environment, from small residential systems to large commercial installs. Each channel on the JR-6 has an 8-ohm impedance when connecting both channels of the speaker. When joining the inputs for a 1 channel connection, the JR-6 becomes a 4-ohm speaker.

  • Red Wire: Right Positive Speaker Lead
  • Black Wire: Right Negative Speaker Lead
  • Green Wire: Left Positive Speaker Lead
  • Yellow Wire: Left Negative Speaker Lead

Notes: When connected in a stereo configuration, the JR-6 rock speaker presents an 8-ohm load to each channel of your amplifier. When connected in a summed mono configuration, the rock speaker presents a 4-ohm load to your amplifier. See Owner's Manual for wiring diagram.

Included Accessories: The Jamo JR-6 comes with a mounting stake and 3' security cable to help secure the rock speaker on top of the ground. Four waterproof wire-nuts are included to make connection from your amplifier's speaker wires to the JR-6 rock speaker.

Customer Q&A

Q
what kind of outdoor speaker wire is best for this? 2 conductor? 4 conductor?

A
Four

A
This speaker is wired for stereo. I used four conductor.
michael  Mar 08, 2022
A
4 as it has 2 speakers inside. However you can pair them up over a 2 conductor line which is what I did.
chad  Mar 08, 2022
A
I have 2 and have them wired 1 as a left channel and 1 as the right. I ran 2 conductor to each speaker individually.

Q
How is the bass? Do I need to add an outdoor subwoofer?
raynor  Sep 24, 2021

A
I would recommend it if you neighbors are OK with that
michael  Mar 08, 2022
A
Speakers are great but the bass isn't super deep, if you're looking for more robust bass I'd look to add a subwoofer.
tom  Sep 27, 2021
A
Speaker is pretty decent in full range. Bass is subjective. I don't use or need subs with these speakers. If you are used to subs and you really want that punch, you can simulate that with an inline EQ or amplifier with an EQ on it. Get one and try it out, you can always add a sub later. If you're new to outdoor / in ground speakers. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
william  Sep 24, 2021
A
It does well for what it is but it will never reproduce the low frequencies you will get from a sub. So to answer your question.. it depends on your expectations. If you are satisfied with good sound with a full sound then you can probably skip the sub. But if you will miss hearing the low frequencies and appreciate hearing the entire spectrum of frequencies then the sub is a must.

I was unhappy with the bass, as it replaced a Niles rock speaker that had very good bass (sadly, Niles rock speakers are no longer being made). I would think that an outdoor subwoofer would be able to add back most of the missing lower frequencies, but I dont have any experience with them.
eric  Sep 24, 2021
A
I would recommend it.
michael  Sep 24, 2021
A
I installed 3 of these around my pool and I feel that the sound produced has enough bass , highs and mids. Definitely a full complete sound. Connected them through a Sonos amp.
george  Sep 24, 2021
A
I use these speakers for background music and they sound great at that. If I was playing rock and roll I would want a sub woofer to go along with them.

Q
Does this speaker need to be set up in a single speaker stereo format or can it be set up as a Left / right pair?
eric  Jul 22, 2021
2 answers
A
Can be set up as a mono channel or stereo. I have them connected through a Sonos amp and have three installed. 2 are Lefts 1 Right so that when you walk up to the pool you are walking into the music. Side note you can have 4 on one Sonos amp, I originally thought you needed 2 amps...
george  Sep 24, 2021
A
Its design allows it to work in either setup: as a stereo speaker or as just one channel (either the left or right speaker). I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to discuss your goals and gear to check if this speaker will work

You will need an amplifier/stereo. They are not powered. No Bluetooth connection. Just wires.
