Features

Powered Subwoofer: Equipped with an 8" polyfiber woofer and a 75W (RMS)/150W (Peak) class D amplifier, the Jamo Studio 10 Series S 810 SUB delivers dynamic, powerful bass in any listening environment, from full cinema surround systems to critical two-channel listening.

Bottom Mounted Amplifier: The high powered class D amplifier and input panel is mounted on the bottom of the subwoofer cabinet, making for a clean, unobtrusive look in any orientation. A 90-degree AC power cord and 90-degree mono-RCA cable are included for exceptional space management.

Note: The included rubber feet are required to provide enough space to route the AC power and mono-RCA cable to the bottom-mounted AC input and Line-Level/LFE Input.

Ultra-Slim Enclosure with Down-Firing Slot Port: The S 810 SUB is specifically designed and engineered with a down-firing slot port to provide exceptional output and deep, accurate bass in almost any application despite it's ultra-slim cabinet.

Wood Accents & Woven Cloth Grille: Wood accents give the subwoofer cabinet a handcrafted, natural look. The Jamo S 810 SUB comes with a large woven linen cloth grille with heavy texture which finishes off the powered subwoofer's modern look.

Bottom Mounted Controls: The level control, low pass crossover, and phase control allow you to blend the powered subwoofer's low-frequency tones with your system's other speakers, as well as establish the ideal level of bass. These controls are found on the bottom of the powered sub.

  • Level Control: The level control adjusts the subwoofer's volume relative to the rest of your home audio system. After the sub's level control has been set, the volume control of your AV receiver will be the volume control for both the Jamo powered subwoofer and your connected loudspeakers.
  • Low Pass Crossover: The variable low pass crossover is adjustable from 40-120Hz. The crossover point chosen determines where low bass frequencies are "handed-off" from your AV system's loudspeakers to the Jamo powered subwoofer. Set the crossover point based on the size of your systems' main left/right speakers. If your AV receiver has an LFE output and built-in bass management, then set the S 810 SUB's built-in crossover to "LFE", which bypasses the powered sub's crossover.
  • Phase Control: This control is used to acoustically match the powered subwoofer's output to your main speakers. Select the position either 0˚ or 180˚ in which the powered sub has more output at the main listening position.

Bottom Mounted Mono-RCA/LFE Input: There is a bottom mounted mono-RCA input that can be used for a line-level or LFE signal. If you are using an AV Receiver with an LFE output, along with built-in bass management and subwoofer control, then set the S 810 SUB's built-in low pass crossover to "LFE", which bypasses the subwoofer's low pass crossover. If your AV receiver only has a line-level output, then you will need to adjust the S 810 SUB's built-in low pass crossover from 40-120Hz, based on the size of your front loudspeakers (a mono-to-stereo RCA adapter maybe required in this scenario).

Auto Power On/Off: The Jamo powered subwoofer will automatically turn On when it senses an audio signal. It will automatically go into "Standby mode" after 15-20 minutes with no audio signal. You can also choose to turn the powered sub On or Off manually from the rear-switch on the back.

Mounting Options: The Jamo Studio 8 Series S 810 SUB utilizes an ultra-slim cabinet for exceptional placement flexibility and orientation flexibility - front firing against a wall or side firing next to a media console or cabinet. It can even be placed on its back and hidden underneath a sofa or chair, so the woofer is top firing. Four self-adhesive rubber feet are included to provide a non-slip surface and to isolate the powered subwoofer from the floor, as well as provide space for the AC power cord and subwoofer cable to plug into the bottom of the enclosure.

  • Side Firing Dimensions: 8.9375" (w) x 20.0" (h) x 15.9375" (d)
  • Front Firing Dimensions: 15.9375" (w) x 20.0" (h) x 8.9375" (d)
  • Top Firing Dimensions: 19.5625" (w) x 9.5" (h) x 15.9375" (d)
Note: For optimum performance, place your subwoofer in a corner of the room on the same wall as your front channel speakers. Please note that room placement can have a dramatic effect on the performance of your powered subwoofer. Corner placement, as suggested above, will increase the amount of bass output, while placing the subwoofer along the middle of a wall, or out in the room will decrease the amount of bass output.

Jamo Studio 8 Series: The new Jamo Studio 8 series of loudspeakers and powered subwoofers has been engineered and designed to complement and seamlessly blend in today's modern environments and fashionable living spaces. Contemporary material and finish choices accentuate the clean, minimalist lines of this European design, while the compact cabinet architecture is an ideal solution for today's urban living environments.

Note: The Jamo Studio 8 series consists of Floorstanding loudspeakers (S805/S807/S809), bookshelf loudspeakers (S801/S803), center channel speakers (S81C/S83C), Dolby Atmos elevation speaker (S8ATM), and powered subwoofer (S808SW/S810SW).

Q
Does this sub work with the Klipsch wireless adapter. If so, will it find under the sub with the sub in standing position?
kelly  Jul 27, 2021
1 answer
A
If you mean the WA-2, no, it won't. That uses a special connector used only by Klipsch.

A
Yes this sub has auto and on
ed de  Jun 11, 2021
A
Yes, there is an auto option that puts the sub into standby when not receiving a signal. That feature was a requirement for us and has worked great.
noah  Jun 10, 2021
A
Yes, It goes into a "sleep/standby" mode when no signal is detected.

Q
I'm getting a random thumping noise from this subwoofer, even when it isn't connected to a source for sound. Any ideas?

I purchased an S810 along with the whole speaker system from JAMO directly as Crutchfield was out of stock on some of the components at the time. I was hearing the thumping heartbeat noise from that unit I got Jamo. I thought it was something that was part of it's normal function. Then I got an Marantz Atmos HTR and decided to get the additional four Jamo Atmos speakers and then another S810 subwoofer from Crutchfield. I hooked everything up and noticed on the new SUB there was no Thumping/Heartbeat sounds. I then knew there was something wrong with the original sub I got from Jamo. I called Jamo and they had me do some testing which required some disassembly and testing of the Subwoofer with a battery. It was determined I had a bad AMP. Jamo had decided to send me an new AMP and I was able to install it myself and everything works as it should now. They probably would of sent a tech or sent me to a place if I could not do it myself..

Check the switch on the bottom which says "on, auto, off". If it is "on" try putting it to "auto" which is in the middle. When it doesn't detect a signal it will shut off after some time and you wouldn't hear the noise

Funny you should ask, I've just experienced the same thing with my Jamo S 808 Sub. I was told that this is due to a defect in the subs Amplifier. I was told it's pretty common for these defects to happen, manufacturers use cheap amps in subs these days.
steve  Jan 29, 2019

I had the same issue, sounded like a heartbeat, and returned the subwoofer to Crutchfield. My replacement subwoofer should be in tomorrow. Now I wonder how widespread this problem is?
weston  Jan 28, 2019

purchased this same sub and have not had this issue. sounds like you may have a defective unit.
james r.  Jan 28, 2019
A
Have not experienced that, but I'll sure be mindful of your question if I should here something in the future.

Q
How long is the factory supplied RCA cable. Also, if I have to purchase my own, will it need it to be a 90 degree on the sub end?
jason  Mar 17, 2022

A
56 inches. Yes, you need a right angle connector for clearance. The supplied cord "should" be long enough.
carl  Mar 18, 2022
A
the supplied cable is about 6 and 1/2 ft in length and it does have a 90 at the end to interface with the sub. The cable is of low quality. Honestly, I would look elsewhere for another brand of sub woofer before buying this unit. One design feature that is particularly poor is that the controls are located on the bottom surface.
steve  Mar 18, 2022
A
The included cable is longer than most, maybe 5-6 feet. I did replace mine with a longer one, since my sub is pretty far from my receiver. And yes, I'd recommend a right angle one. It's definitely a better fit for this sub.
jason  Mar 17, 2022
A
Sorry, I do not remember how long it was. I used my own much higher quality cable. Mine did not need to be at a 90 degree angle.

Q
I have the Jamo S 809 towers and they sound great, but I'm looking for a bit more on the low end. Will this sub be overpowered by the tower speakers?
lee  Jan 10, 2022

A
I use Denons app. Whatever "room correction" app you like, lets you adjust each speakers output so in YOUR space, YOU get the kind of music effect YOU want. I have the S 809 5.1.2 set and for me, it sounds really nice. My last 2 AVR were from Denon. There is an "Auto" room correction set up and a manual one if you want a bit more or less xyz from a speaker or speakers. The short and not entirely correct answer is no. Whomever may share your living space, or neighbors, may HATE base. why all the volume controls for each speaker and the system as a whole. The Jamo sub is-was not designed for a pub, etc., but our living room and to complement the other speakers.

I use this sub with my surround sound setup along with JBL tower speakers and JBL center speaker and it does a decent job considering the price. The only knock is the output Jack is underneath instead of the back.
john  Jan 11, 2022
A
I may not be the best one to ask. I play my music very low as background music. They give me a tiny bit more base at very low levels. That is the best I can tell you. Sorry.
