Each speaker has customized connectors on the bottom that plug directly into the matching speaker below. (The matching "base" speaker has an extra set of input terminals for your receiver's Atmos channel.) Sound effects bounce off the ceiling and down to your ears, putting you right in the thick of the action. Pretty cool, right?

Dolby Atmos Elevation Speakers: Recreate the incredible cinematic experience of Dolby Atmos with the S 8 ATM Dolby Atmos Elevation speaker, which reflects Dolby Atmos height effects off the ceiling down to the listener, to create a truly stunning, 3-dimensional surround sound experience.

4" Polyfiber Woofer: The Jamo S 8 ATM Dolby Atmos Elevation speaker is outfitted with a top-firing 4" Polyfiber woofer with rubber surround.

Compatibility: The S 8 ATM Dolby Atmos Elevation speaker is only compatible with Jamo's S807/S809 floorstanding speakers and S803 bookshelf speakers. It does not offer any standard type of speaker terminal connector to be used with other loudspeaker systems.

Discrete Connections: Elegant metal fasteners atop the cabinet of Jamo's S807/S809 floorstanding speakers and S803 bookshelf speakers provide a chic, modern industrial look, but also serve as a connection point for the Jamo S 8 ATM Dolby Atmos elevation speakers (sold separately). This patent-pending design allows for all of the wire connections on the back of the loudspeaker, avoiding unsightly and messy speaker wire going all the way up to the Atmos module - for cinematic, completely immersive Dolby Atmos sound while preserving the beautiful aesthetic of the Jamo Studio 8 Series.

Dolby Atmos Certified: Dolby Atmos takes surround sound to a completely new level, by adding the third dimension of height to the two dimensional front/back left/right 5.1 or 7.1 sound mix. Can I use these as rear wall hanging speakers?

These speakers are only designed to be used with Jamo's S807/S809 floorstanding speakers and S803 bookshelf speakers. They do not have regular speaker wire terminals and cannot be used independently.

Will these S 8 ATM's paired with the S 807 or S 809 towers be ok in a medium sized room with vaulted ceilings?

That should be fine, mine are in a medium sized room and they sound terrific. The key is to use your receiver's set up tool to perfectly dial in the sound.

They are small drivers. To be honest I'm not quite sure how vaulted ceilings will work in reflecting the sound. They are cosmetically nice looking speakers but may not have the power your looking for. Very light weight cabinets. I have them set up in a small room connected to an Arcam avr390 and the 4 Atmos tops are connected to an Arcam p1000 and i am happy with the sound but I don't necessarily push them too much.

Will the atmos be effective if I have it facing upwards the lowest point of my ceiling which is about 7. 3 feet, from floor to ceiling. I would sit about 9.5 feet away from where the speakers would be and the ceiling above is now measured about 9.1 feet, floor to ceiling. Would it atmos work or does my ceiling need to be completely flat and level?

Up-firing Atmos speakers like these should only be used in rooms with flat ceilings. Some Atmos speakers can be mounted high on the wall instead of using these toppers. I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to discuss your setup and get a personal recommendation on speakers that will work

I wouldn't. I went all white. The wood trim at the very bottom is not visible enough to match tops of a different Color. My opinion only

I have the Onkyo 595 receiver with Atmos, Can I connect this to my 5.1 speakers just by adding it to the front two speakers and still receive the Atmos experience?

Nope. These speaker have terminals. They must be mounted on top of Jamo speakers. The 4 feet act as contacts for the signal and the terminals are on the main upright speaker.

If you have the TX-NR595 then you do have capability for doing atmos with that receiver. Are you currently running the jamo front speakers? If yes then these are an easy pair as they clip into the top of them. If not there are better options for atmos speakers as these are specifically built for the jamo speakers (not easy to hook up to other towers or bookshelf)

Do you typically need a 5.1 surround sound receiver/amplifier to hook these up to? Assuming your right and front main are taken up by your Jamo towers, then is it assumed that these Dolby speakers a hooked up to the back right and left channels? Obv there is no ceiling speaker hook ups on receivers, and there is no such thing as a 4.0 or 4.1 receiver/amp. So only a 5.1 set up can support these? Thanks

Yes you would need at least a 5.1 receiver to hook those Jamo speakers up to. They would need their own direct connection to a receiver, typically being used for atmos but can also be used for the rear surround channels as well.

Do you have to have the plug in module tower to use these or can you wire them separately and use with older Jamos?

You can use wires to connect them but you would be better off getting a different atmos module as you would just be winding the wires around The foot pegs of these modules.

Technically you could crimp some speaker wire to the two terminal posts that protrude from the bottom.
