Expensive
James from Sioux Falls, SD on 4/1/2025
Expensive! No difference in quality of sound from single ended cables but did get twice the voltage to my preamp. Both sounded great.
Pros: Looks good. Double voltage over what getting from RCA single ended cable which improved available preamp volume range.
Cons: Didn't sound any better than single ended RCA cable. My DAC is ladder R2R with no buffer output amplifier. The output resistance thus was twice as high. Cables were very short so not enough to degrade sound. Longer cables might have been issue, as if I could afford longer MacKenzie!

I decided to try balanced audio cables between my McIntosh preamp and power amp after attending a seminar of their benefits. I did find that they did reveal a bit more detail in my music that I would estimate at 5-10%. Whether you consider this a good value for $400 is an individual evaluation.

Amazing
Jesse from Xenia, OH on 3/12/2025
There is the sound of a cello, and then there is the cello. That's the difference this cable makes. The woody resonance of the cello body, the vibration of the strings as the bow moves across, the overtones. It is like getting a new better sound system. If you like your system now, you will love it with these cables. Better clarity, more detail, just an overall better, more listenable experience. When you play this for the first time to demo a track, you'll find you went on to three or four without realizing it. You can get lost in the music with these cables. At least, that is how it was for me.
Pros: Warm, quiet, open, full, vibrant sound.
Cons: Pricey

Well, I hate to be the wet blanket here with all of these outstanding reviews but I used these to compare to an inexpensive set of cables that I had played only about 5 albums over (so no break-in on those cables or these cables, if you're into that kind of thing). These sounded terrible in comparison. Thin, muddy, not pleasing. So I ran one of these to one channel and one of the others to the other channel and had my wife switch the balance back and forth. No comparison. To my ears these cables are a waste of money. Can not recommend. But I ALWAYS recommend buying from Crutchfield. They are simply the best!!!

Good cord for Audio
Edward from Norcross, GA on 2/19/2024
Good quality, well built cable that definitely contributes to imaging. The ends don't lock like most XLR cables I have used and they are VERY snug, tough to plug in on one end but I suppose that is a good connection
Pros: Think cable, well built
Cons: Tough to plug in

I went to a lot of parties back in the seventies, and everybody had a sound system, and every body played it loud, and it provided an atmosphere, but the technical performance was generally just bad. I wanted better than that now that it's not the seventies, but I'm in my seventies. I look at each piece of equipment that I own now pretty much every day, and think "I know exactly why I bought you." And, my system sounds FANTASTIC, and the technical performance is amazing. These cables are expensive, but am I glad I bought them? You bet.

Excellent cable ends and overall cable construction
Stephen from Carson City, NV on 4/3/2023
Replaced a pair of 20 year old audio technica PCOCC cables which were pretty high end at the time. The connectors were much better and the cable construction was very good. Cleaned up the upper mids and highs as I expected. Very nice cable.
Pros: Solid and clean cable connectors; excellent cable construction; cleaned up sound as expected
Cons: Wasn't as big of a jump in performance as I would have expected; maybe my old cables were just that good (cost comparison wise, time adjusted, my old cables were a lot more expensive).

Noise free cable!
Tony from GUAM, USA on 12/10/2021
I was skeptical about these cables. The price is very expensive. When doing A/B comparisons of my lesser cables, the difference is very noticeable to me. My lesser cables seemed to amplify noise as I increased the volume of my source. However, now I can turn up the volume to max, with zero noise. Of course your source (amp) will max out at its limit. I am running NAD Masters M33 with my Wharfedale Lintons. They have never sounded this strong and clear!
Pros: Eliminates noise completely! Extremely well built! Top notch Aesthetics too.
Cons: Expensive! Kinda put myself in spot, can never go back to low cost cables!

These cables are excellent. The sound thru them is an improvement over what i originally had and at a very small price increase. They have a very nice appearance, and though not easily seen, i know they are there. Biggest positive, is to my salesperson who helped me out, she was excellent, patient and answered all my questions..kudos to her.
Pros: Look great. Cost. A great mid level csble.
Cons: None.

Impressively well made cable. Also sounds great, at a moderate & acceptable price point. I will buy again, recommended.
Pros: Exceptional build quality, feels great just holding & inspecting it, seeing the attention to detail. Sounds great after 75 hours break in, very clean sound.
Cons: None after 200 hours use so far.

This is an excellent product. The terminations look like something a jeweler fabricated. Sonically there seems to be an increase in clarity and in the bass regions there is more roundness and weight.

Mackenszie interconnects and PSAudio Stellar components
Crutchfield customer from Vail, AZ on 10/24/2020
I found that I liked Mackenzie interconnects with my PSAudio gear long before PSA started recommending it. I have used balanced Mackenzies for preamp to amp, dac to headphone amp and headphone amp to preamp and find the results very satisfying after at least 200 hrs of use.
Pros: Detailed and sweet sound with good bass as well.
Cons: A little pricey.

AudioQuest just brings it!
Eric from GALVESTON, TX on 2/23/2020
I have moved up from the Big Sur line and the difference is awesome. AudioQuest has great build quality and material which comes through on the music. I think think the silver plating is better over the gold plating. I believe in upgrading your cables over stock ones, but not over doing. I needed separates cables to connect a power amp, the connecter were far apart on the power amp and the Big Sur is one cable limiting the distance. Glad I had this problem because I never would have spent the money, was very happy with the Big Sur line. So now even if the RCA or XLR connections are close I'm going with the Mackenzie line. Money well spent.
Pros: Build quality and material used. Separate cables for Left and Right.
Cons: None.

Joe from Wooster, Ohio on 9/19/2017
Excellent cables. The choices of lengths is great, since I purchased the 0.5M and the 0.75M to keep the interconnection as short as possible. The connectors are extremely well made, and connect to the components with a solid precision....no wiggle room.
Pros: precision quality selection of lengths
