Heavy-duty camera and monitor

When a smaller screen won't cut it in your truck or RV when you're trying to back up, Boyo's VTC207AHD backup cam bundle is the solution. They've paired a 7" dash monitor with a heavy-duty backup camera for a convenient solution for any larger vehicle. The monitor and camera are equipped with AHD technology, allowing for a sharper image than traditional cameras.

7" monitor

Once wired for power and video with the included wiring harness, Boyo's 7" monitor attaches conveniently to your windshield or dash with the included brackets, providing a crisp view that will be a big help when you're in reverse. An included reverse trigger wire ensures you'll only have to see a backup view when your vehicle is in reverse, and the monitor features an extra video input so you can add a front-view camera if needed.

Perfect for low light

You can expect a detailed picture that stays clear in dark environments, while selectable parking lines and reverse image allow you to use this Boyo as a front camera as well. The package includes a 65-1/2 foot cable that connects from your camera to the monitor.

Product Research

Overview: The Boyo VTC207AHD backup camera system features a dash or windshield mounted 7" LCD monitor and a heavy-duty backup camera, designed for installation in trucks, vans, SUVs, and larger vehicles.

Note: The Boyo VTC207AHD is meant as a back-up aid only; never solely rely on the rear-view camera system when backing-up. In addition to using the rear-view camera, always look behind you to make sure everything is clear when backing up your vehicle.

Camera: The VTC207AHD rear-view camera includes a pre-installed, adjustable mounting bracket that allows it to be installed on top of a flat surface at the rear of the vehicle. The camera features a 1/4" AHD color CMOS image sensor with a 170° diagonal viewing angle. Built-in Infrared LEDs can provide night vision up to 26' behind the vehicle. The camera carries an IP68 waterproof rating, making it impervious to weather.

  • Parking Guide Lines: The default image displays parking guide lines that can be removed by connecting the 2 bare-ended white wires on the camera's connected video cable.
  • Image: The default image displayed is a mirror (reverse) image. This can be changed to a "normal" view in the monitor menu.

Monitor: The 7" LED AHD monitor features a 16:9 display with a resolution of 1024(h) x 600(v). The monitor includes a flush-mount bracket that allows it to be installed in a dash opening with just under an inch of mounting depth required. The camera kit also includes a swiveling suction-mount bracket, for attaching to a windshield, and a bracket with an adhesive base for mounting on top of a dash. The monitor's front-panel controls access the menu options for adjusting Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Image (reverse/normal), and aspect ratio. This also lets you cycle between the included camera's input and an additional optional camera (not included).

Wiring: The VTC207AHD includes a 65.5' extension cable that attaches to the camera's harnesses via a proprietary 4-pin connector. The other end of the extension is terminated in a composite video jack that connects to the monitor's input cable via an intermediate 4-pin to RCA adapter. This connection also provides power and ground for both the camera and the monitor. It also contains a blue reverse trigger wire for connecting to the vehicle's reverse signal in the dash area of the vehicle. A composite video plug (Video In) is provided on the monitor's harness for running an additional camera or video source (sold separately) into the monitor.

Customer Q&A

Does it operate on 24 volts DC?
ed  Sep 07, 2023
1 answer
Input for the camera is only designed for 12-15VDC. It would not work on a 24VDC system without a 24-to-12VDC converter.

Can you purchase a sunshade cover for this Boyo 7" monitor from Crutchfield?
willam  Apr 10, 2022
1 answer
At the time of this reply, we do not offer a sunshade for it. However, that might change and I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to check

Yes. I installed it on my rear facia so I can keep an eye on my boat trailer / hitch / trailer tires / boat tie-downs... It runs for hours continuously without issue.
david  Sep 03, 2021
Yes. I had mine wired to a toggle switch and when we were driving it was on. I've had it installed for 1 yr and the camera all of the sudden stopped working. The monitor works fine but moisture somehow has gotten in the camera and it only displays a white foggy image. I've since purchased a different brand from RVS.
jeffery  Sep 03, 2021
Yes it can be on all the time with no issues. I have it wired this way on our skid steer and it works great.

Where can I find instructions for installation of the BTC207AHD I purchased from you?

If you purchased the product from Crutchfield, feel free to contact our Tech Support team. Our toll-free Tech Support number is printed on your invoice, and is also available under the "My Orders" tab in the "My Account" section of our website. If you did not purchase the unit from Crutchfield, then you may want to contact the manufacturer.

Can this unit be set up to stay completely dark until reverse is selected and then come on instantly? The last unit I tried either had to be on with a bright message of "NO SIGNAL" or took about 15 seconds to come on before showing the picture. This all depended on how it was wired to power and input.

I'm only guessing that it can by wiring according to the instructions (which were somewhat vague). I wired mine as a switched unit so that I could turn it on at anytime whether in reverse or driving.
gary  Dec 27, 2020
Yes, it can be on all the time or off until reverse engages

Q my question . Has anyone received this product and had wrong cabling right out of the box? I received this product today and all yellow lead ends are female. Crutchfield support is great ..... they are scratching their heads a bit on this as well. .

Wiring was ok. One of the dash mounts was broken but Crutchfield replaced it right away. The instructions are terrible. Crutchfield support was great. So far it woks fine. Use it in my truck for lining up the hitch of a boat trailer.

Deuce... I purchased this same unit a couple of weeks ago and discovered the same thing. At issue is the fact that the monitor cable and the camera cable combined only reach about 5 feet. This is obviously way to short to use as intended. I called Crutchffield support to discover that they do not have any additional cables available for this package. So, I called Vision Tech America [Boyo] engineering support and got an answer. In their instruction sheet they show two 20 meter cables with this unit because the monitor has two composite video inputs. Their solution was to use the included 20 Meter cable and the short jumper cable and connect to the camera and the monitor respectively. This allows you to mount the camera to the rear of the car and use the excessively long cable attached to the camera 4 - pin plug and eventually connect to power and the monitor. I tried to purchase the 20 meter double-ended 4 - pin cable only to discover that Boyo doesn't stock these. In short --- I'm connected and it works and the quality of both the monitor and camera images are as good as the OEM rear camera package on my 2019 Ram. If you do a little engineering --- you can get good results. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure my system came with one yellow, one red and one multi pin for the camera cord. Not sure what your talking about. I installed 2 mos ago...
jeffery  Sep 04, 2020
Can this be used as a constant on viewer?
jeffery  Apr 30, 2020

Yes. Wire to unswitched (vehicle key) power source and add your own in-line switch. You can turn it on or off as you wish.
gary  Oct 13, 2020
It sure can be installed so the camera feed is always on when you are using the vehicle!
