Features

1" Horn-Loaded Tweeter: The Klipsch RP-504C center-channel loudspeaker features a 1" Titanium LTS Vented Tweeter with a Hybrid Tractrix Horn for exceptional high frequency response, detail, and dispersion. Klipsch proprietary Tractrix horn-loaded technology ensures high-frequency energy of the RP-504C center-channel speakers are aimed directly at the listener and reduces unwanted, artificial reverb caused by indirect sound bouncing off walls - meaning you experience the most clear, detailed, lifelike sound possible.

  • Titanium LTS Vented Tweeter: The titanium tweeter diaphragm's light weight yet rigid composition exceeds the performance of aluminum, polymer or silk tweeters. A vented tweeter design reduces standing waves behind the tweeter diaphragm for a smoother high frequency reproduction. Klipsch award-winning Linear Travel Suspension technology leverages a piston motion of the titanium diaphragm that lowers distortion and delivers real-to-life sound. A ceramic magnet housing provides premium performance,
  • Hybrid Tractrix Horn Technology: This redesigned 90°x90° Hybrid Tractrix Horn utilizes a circular horn throat paired to a square horn mouth to further improve high-frequency response and extension, while enhancing imaging and dynamics. The Hybrid Tractrix Horn's compressed molded silicon face adds high frequency damping to reduce harshness and horn resonance for a smoother frequency response with improved detail - creating a clean and natural sound. Klipsch also utilizes computer modeled phase plugs that act as a mechanical filter to further ensure a smooth, flat frequency response while protecting the tweeter from damage.

Quad 5.25" Cerametallic Woofers: The RP-504C center-channel loudspeaker utilizes four 5.25" Klipsch Proprietary Cerametallic woofers. Cerametallic consists of extremely light, rigid materials that can hold shape while being able to deliver lower frequencies with maximum efficiency. The Klipsch Cerametallic cone is matted to a dual-layer, copper-wound voice coil for exceptional conductivity. The 5.25" woofers are housed in a non-resonating, stamped-steel basket that's secured to a large magnet motor for exceptional efficiency and low distortion.

Rear Tractrix Port: The rear Tractrix port of the RP-504C center-channel loudspeaker is perfectly matched to the cabinet and woofer, creating ideal airflow with minimal distortion and turbulence even at the lowest frequencies. Klipsch Tractrix ports have custom designed inner flares that help reduce air turbulence entering the port. Less turbulent air helps reduce port noise for cleaner, more powerful bass.

MDF Cabinet: The Klipsch RP-504C center-channel speaker features a MDF cabinet with a scratch-resistant, textured wood grain vinyl that seamlessly integrates into almost any room or decor. The enclosure's reinforced MDF construction reduces cabinet vibration for less audible coloration and improved sonic accuracy. The MDF enclosure also features a satin painted baffle with a scratch resistant design for an elegant look without the grille.

Acoustically Transparent Grille: The Klipsch RP-504C center-channel loudspeaker comes with a removable, black cloth grille that is magnetic and acoustically transparent. This strong magnetic grille provides protection and a sleek aesthetic look to compliment your home's decor.

Binding Posts: The Klipsch Reference Premiere series center-channel speaker is fitted with sturdy binding posts to ensure a secure connection to many types of cable and connectors. The binding post terminals will accept banana plugs (single only), pin-connectors, spade-lugs and bare wire (up to 10AWG). Two plastic caps will need to be removed to use banana plugs.

Placement & Mounting Options: The center channel speaker is designed to place dialog and primary sounds so that they appear to come from the TV or projector screen. The speaker should therefore be centered and placed as close to the screen as possible, preferably directly on top of or below the screen. The center channel speaker comes with four self-adhesive rubber feet to secure the speaker in place and prevent any damage to your stand's or shelf's surface. The rubber feet add approximately 0.125" to the height of each speaker.

Note: There is no included bracket, keyhole slot, or threaded insert to wall-mount the speaker.

Reference Premiere Series: The Klipsch Reference Premiere series utilizes a redesigned hybrid 90°x90° Tractrix Horn, a vented LTS titanium tweeter, Cerametallic woofer construction, and Tractrix geometry port technology for sound that will envelope you and blow you away. The Reference Premiere series by Klipsch consists of a variety of floorstanding, bookshelf, center, and surround speakers (all sold separately). Click on the Accessories Tab to find more Reference Premiere series speakers for your home system.

Optional Powered Sub: For bigger & deeper bass response, pair the Klipsch Reference Premiere series loudspeaker with one of Klipsch's powered subwoofers (sold separately - click on Accessories Tab).

Q
THIS UNIT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE A OPTICAL SOUND INPUT TO CONNECT THE TV. ALSO IF IT HAS AN OPTICAL SOUND INPUT, CAN THE SPEAKER BASE SUPPORT THE 65" LG TV I BOUGHT FROM YOU?
thomas  Jan 23, 2025
1 answer
A
Hey Thomas, thanks for the question. So this speaker is a passive center channel speaker from Klipsch meaning you need an AV Receiver to power this speaker and it would typically be used in conjunction with a stereo pair of speakers for the Left and Right channels. Now it sounds like you might be looking for something closer to that of a powered sound bar and if that is kind of what you are after, we have advisors who can be reached by calling 1-800-324-9695 that can help recommend the best speaker/soundbar for your goals.

Q
Does Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-504C come in cherry or walnut?
rhonda  Oct 22, 2023
1 answer
A
The RP-504C is no longer in production, and we do not have any of the walnut left. It may be possible to find the walnut available from other sellers. At the time of writing, we do have the RP-504C II available in walnut, which I will link below: www.crutchfield.com/p_714504C2W/item.html

Can you wall mount this speaker?
harry l  May 16, 2022

You can wall mount anything if your walls are deep enough I suppose.... This isn't designed to be, however.

A
Yes

Q
Will the Denon AVR-S750H (Costco) drive this speaker well enough to sound good? Not interested in super loud but good action movie quality.
david  Apr 08, 2022
3 answers
A
Yes , definitely, its a nice center speaker, the dialog is so clear and crisp in my set up.
peter  Apr 10, 2022
A
Yes should be fine these are very efficient speakers they don't require a lot of power to sound great! You will love the speaker.
james  Apr 09, 2022
A
I'm currently using a Denon AVR-3500x. It is enough to adequately drive the speaker (the 504 is a pretty sensitive speaker!) so it looks like the 750 would be good. To be fair though, I'm heading down the separates route here shortly. I'll keep the speaker though - I love it!
jay  Apr 09, 2022
Q
Is a 50w channel enough for this?
carlo  Mar 16, 2022
2 answers
A
Absolutely. This is a very sensitive speaker.
william  Apr 12, 2022
A
In my opinion this reference speaker may be too much for a small amplifier.

Q
can you place this in a BDI corridor media stand?
phil  Nov 01, 2021
3 answers
A
BDI sells multiple media stands. Would you please provide more information so we may better answer your question. The speaker dimensions are 6.81" x 31.13" x 14.46" and it weighs 34lbs. I hope this item does work for you. I own it and love it- the richness of the sound is incredible.
kimberly  Nov 07, 2021
A
I have the Elements 8779 media console and the Klipsch 504-C. You can definitely put the 504-C in the cabinet center top shelf. I chose to place it on top so it is at ear level and I like the look of the speaker.
william  Nov 01, 2021
A
I personally do not see any reason why you couldn't. Just be sure to double check the dimensions of the speaker vs the interior dimensions of the media stand. This speaker cabinet is quite large.

Q
Can you place a 55" TV over it?
vipin  Jul 06, 2021
4 answers
A
I have mine under a wall mounted 77" LG OLED. The wall mount can extend 24" from the wall so the TV is flush to the front of this speaker. The cabinet underneath is an IKEA Besta. The speaker is big and heavy and I am sure it could support an LED or OLED TV.
jonathan  Jul 06, 2021
A
Yes, you can. If you mean placing a 55" TV on the speaker itself, probably not the best idea because your tv stand could possibly hang over. That and it's probably not the best thing to have something relatively heavy on the speaker. Overall, it's all cosmetics and it's up to you about what you think will look best.
troy  Jul 06, 2021
A
I'm assuming you mean you want to set your 55" tv directly on the speaker right? The tv foot mount locations on my 55" tv are 40 inches apart, which is too wide to sit directly on the speaker. My speaker is on a mantle and the tv is mounted on the wall above.
alan  Jul 06, 2021
A
Yes, you can place any sized TV over it. In my case, I have a 110 inch projector screen over it, but any TV will work the same.
john  Jul 06, 2021
Q
can it be powered/handled by 100 wpc AVR?
gerry  Oct 20, 2020

A
Easily.
william  Apr 12, 2022
A
It sure can be powered by a receiver like you describe!

Q
Will I be able to power the RP-504C enough with my AVR-S750h, 75W/Channel max? I plan to configure as "small" type.
deweypop2104  Aug 25, 2020

A
Very good center speaker. I have set it as small and powerful for my liking. I will recommend it

Q
This has a port behind it. Are there any minimum distances from the wall that need to be observed?
mike  Mar 30, 2020
2 answers
A
Every room is different but in general you will want them probably 18" - 36" away from the wall.
casey  Apr 15, 2020 (Staff)
A
The best you get to play with the distance to get the best sound in your room. The must important thing is to tilt it up to your listening point.
anthony  Apr 14, 2020
Q
will mounting this speaker vertically make any difference? Or does it have to be mounted horizontally
webster  Feb 10, 2020
1 answer
A
Center speakers are designed to be mounted horizontally, preferably at listening level. I would not recommend mounting vertically. Buy a pair of front speakers if that's what your design requires.
jon  Feb 10, 2020
Q
What's the difference between the rp450c vs the rp504c?
jeremy  Jan 02, 2019
5 answers
A
If you look at the Tractrix Horn between the two speaker systems you will see the rp450c has an old horn design where the rp504c has the new horn design. Notice the copper circle inside the rp504c horn, this indicates the new design. Other than that they are the same speaker systems.
gerre s  Jan 02, 2019
A
Size of the driver's and horn. The 450 has 4 inch the 5 has 5 inch speakers and its huge. If you got the room and the cash go bigger. Its taller as well. Make sure it doesn't interfere with TV picture.
philip  Jan 02, 2019
A
I believe the 504c has an improved tweeter. I have had both speaker and doubt you would notice the difference. The biggest difference to me is the finish. The fake wood grain on the 504c looks much better. The 450 wood grain looks very fake. It also matches the finish of the other 2018 models. So if you are looking to match it with a pair of 8000fs for example, go with the 504c
james  Jan 02, 2019
A
From my research it boils down to new tweeter tech integrated into the new center channel. From their website: "ALL-NEW VENTED TWEETER A vented tweeter design reduces standing waves behind the tweeter diaphragm for a smoother high frequency reproduction." The dimensions of the box are similar without a drastic change. I absolutely love it, but I have no first hand knowledge of the 450c's sound to offer any type of comparison. Hope this helps
james  Jan 02, 2019
A
The 504c is essentially the replacement for the 450c. Ignoring cosmetic differences, there are just minor updates such as making the tweeters vented. I haven't been able to find any other significant differences from Klipsch's official documentation or elsewhere. As far as I can tell, the biggest difference between the two is price and cosmetic appearance.
