Features

Klipsch Heritage Design: Incorporating luxury materials such as real wood veneer and tactile spun copper switches and knobs, the Klipsch Sixes blend the acoustics and classic design legacy of Paul W. Klipsch with the latest technologies available today.

Custom Engineered Amplifiers: The Sixes powered monitors deliver room-filling sound without taking up much space thanks to built-in amplifiers that are custom-engineered for these high performance speakers, maximizing output and sound quality. The Sixes incorporate individual ultra-low noise amplifiers that are custom designed to maximize system performance and eliminate the need for external amplification.

Two-Way Driver Design: The Klipsch Sixes utilize a two-way driver design with a 1" titanium tweeter mated to Tractrix Horn and a 6.5" long-throw polypropylene woofer with a rubber surround. The Tractrix horn-loaded 1" titanium dome tweeter provides a natural, lifelike sound, while the square Tractrix horn offers up a 90° x 90° dispersion pattern for a broader sound-stage. The 6.5" long-throw polypropylene woofer delivers accurate, detailed midrange/midbass performance.

Bass Reflex Cabinet: The Klipsch Sixes employ a bass reflex cabinet with a rear-firing port for greater efficiency and bigger bass response. The cabinet is slightly angled upward for better sound dispersion into the room. The cabinets are constructed of MDF and finished with a walnut veneer. Magnetic grilles finish off the speakers' look and feel.

  • Overall Cabinet Dimensions: 8.6875" (w) x 16.75" (h) x 12.875" (d)
  • Outer Footprint Dimensions: 7.75" (w) x 9.625" (d)
  • Inner Footprint Dimensions: 6.625" (w) x 8.3125" (d)

Bluetooth Audio Streaming: The Klipsch Sixes tabletop stereo system features Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology so you can enjoy streaming online music services, internet radio, or music content stored on your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer. Pairing your Bluetooth source device with the Sixes is extremely easy; just press and hold the source button on the speaker and select "Klipsch The Sixes" on your Bluetooth device. The speakers will only pair with one device at a time. Once paired, the Sixes will automatically re-connect with your device when in wireless range (up to 33').

Note: You will still control your music from your Bluetooth source device (not the speaker).

USB-B Input: The Klipsch Sixes speaker system features USB (type-B) input on the back of the "Right" speaker for connecting your Windows PC or Mac computer/laptop. Through the Sixes' USB connection, you are able to play music files (up to 24-bit/96kHz) stored on your Windows PC or Mac computer/laptop through the powered speaker system. Basic playback control (Play/Pause & Previous/Next Track) can be done from the included remote control. Advanced music browsing and song/artist info are still handled from your computer. You will need to install a dedicated USB driver from the Klipsch website onto your Windows PC before connecting your computer (Mac computers will not need this dedicated driver).

Note: There is also a rear-panel USB-A port which is used for service, software, and firmware updates only.

Optical Digital Input: The Klipsch Sixes are fitted with an optical (toslink) digital input on the back of the "Right" speaker for connection to a digital audio device like your TV, Blu-ray, or CD player. The speaker's optical digital input will accept 2ch stereo PCM only (up to 24-bit/96kHz).

Aux Input: The Klipsch Sixes also features a 3.5mm analog input, so you can connect practically any audio source via either a 3.5mm-to-3.5mm audio cable or an RCA-to-3.5mm audio cable (sold separately). Connect your portable music player, TV, or any audio source with an analog audio output or headphone jack. The Aux input is located on the back of the "Right" speaker.

Line or Phono Analog Input: In addition, the Klipsch Sixes is equipped with a stereo RCA input that can used as a Line or Phono (MM) input. There is a switch on the back-panel that lets you select between  line-level or the built-in phono (MM) preamp. Connect your CD player, Blu-ray player, Turntable, and other audio sources with an analog audio output. The Line/Phono input and switch is located on the back of the "Right" speaker.

Subwoofer Output: The Sixes also include a subwoofer output so you can easily add a powered sub to the system. The subwoofer output consists of a mono-RCA jack and is located on the back of the "Right" speaker.

Controls: The Klipsch Sixes come with an IR remote control for wireless operation of the speaker system. The remote provides the following control functions - Power on/off, Source selection, Volume up/down, Sub level, and LED illumination. There is also Power, Source, and Volume controls on the front-panel of the "Right" speaker.

Detachable AC Power Cord: The included 59" detachable AC power cord plugs into the back of the "Right" speaker and then into an AC wall outlet, surge protector, or power conditioner.

Proprietary Speaker Cable: The included 20' proprietary speaker cable connects the Klipsch Sixes' powered speaker (Right) and slave speaker (Left) together for power and audio signal.

Q
Has anyone gotten a wall mount compatible with the sixes?
nate  Sep 18, 2022
1 answer
A
Greetings Nate, and thank you for your question. Those are some big boys. Technically we are not showing anything, however. The Metra AS-SPKR-26 wall mounts are close if you want to try them. They support the weight, they clamp to the bottom of the speaker, they are adjustable width wise. Why we are not recommending them is their maximum supported depth for the speakers are 10 inches, and the Sixes are 11 inches deep. Thats as close to a wall mount for the Sixes as we would have.

Q
Which subwoofer would be best with Klipsch The sixes ?
becca  Aug 23, 2022
1 answer
A
These Klipsch The Sixes really crush, Becca! They can however be improved with the addition of a subwoofer. If you are doing music listening mostly and want something accurate and tight, check out this SVS SB-1000 Pro in the first link below. This sub provides massive musical bass, and would be a solid top choice if you want to crank it up! If you are just looking to round out the low end without shaking the art off the walls, this Kanto SUB8 in the second link is a solid call! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_946SB1KPBA/SVS-SB-1000-Pro-Black-Ash.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_310SUB8VMB/Kanto-SUB8-Black.html

Q
How many watts are the sixes tweeters?
donald  Jun 22, 2022
1 answer
A
That's a good question Donald. Klipsch rates each channel at a true 100 watts RMS. They do not mention anything about Bi-Amping, so most likely that means an even split between the woofer and tweeter. This would put the tweeter wattage at around 50 watts RMS. I hope this helps!

Q
How far apart should these speakers be from a turntable?
rfnkknfr  Apr 08, 2018
8 answers
A
The cable provided allows about 4 feet from the turn table and the power speaker. There is about 8 feet on the slave speaker. My room is 11feet so it worked out nicely. Great speakers. They break in and sound better every time i listen
mark a.  Apr 12, 2018
A
Not sure using with a Bluetooth connection.
david t.  Apr 10, 2018
A
I don't think they need to be far away from the turntable, but it is not ideal to have them placed on the same surface as the turntable. The vibrations from the speakers will vibrate the TT and you get a bad sound/weird feedback loop. The speakers should be as far apart from each other as you are from them, so the two speakers and your head form an equilateral triangle -- of course the speakers sound good no matter where you are in the room, that just the ideal set up.
parker  Apr 09, 2018
A
Depends on the room. Let your ears be the guide.
kenneth  Apr 09, 2018
A
Since the speakers are powered, the turntable ground and input connect directly to the one speaker. You're going to fight the turntable ground length. It's really not very long. I use $100 Project turntable preamp. You are then able to use the turntable ground and use whatever length RCA cable to connect to the Sixes. There is a switch on the back of the powered speaker to disable the built-in preamp. You can then place the speakers anywhere you want. No worries, it's easier than it sounds.
anthony  Apr 09, 2018
A
My speakers are about 2' away in each direction. What's more important is how well the turn table is insulated from the speaker wave lengths. Ideally the speakers aren't on the same shelf or supported by the same wall unit. This will be problematic, the louder you turn up the volume, the more feedback you will get through the record tip.
nikolaos  Apr 09, 2018
A
Mine are about 3 ft away on both sides and sound great with no hum or noise. I would suggest not putting them on the same surface as the turntable
marvin  Apr 09, 2018
A
AS far as you have cable to reach the speaker inputs for!
maurice  Apr 09, 2018
Q
Two questions: 1. If anyone has coupled these w/a sub, which one/which recommended? 2. Are these compatible w/Klipsch's Heritage Headphone Amp & daisy-chaining all thru a PC soundcard such as the Creative SB ZxR? Looking at the HHA, I'd think so?
lonnie  Jan 03, 2018
1 answer
A
We do not have a way to see which, if any, subwoofers customers ordered with these speakers. But we do have advisors that you can call using 1-800-324-9695 to get a personal recommendation on a subwoofer for it. As for the HHA headphone amp, it has USB, coaxial digital, optical, and stereo RCA audio inputs. This will allow it to work with any sound card I have ever seen including what I found on your sound card. And you can connect the HHA to these speakers so it can all be chained together. However, you might want to bypass your sound card and connect the speakers to a USB port on your computer as that would allow you to use DAC in the HHA which should give you even better sound. HTH! The specs say they are play-fi compatible as well as bluetooth, but some people are saying they are just bluetooth. Can anyone clarify?

This speaker set is not DTS Play-Fi compatible. However, Klipsch does make some speakers that will work with that platform. No problem. They have a sub, phono, and auxiliary input for your gear. Also, an optical for the TV and a USB and mini Jack for your computer.

Yes. You can connect the turntable to the "Line/Phono" input, the CD player to the Aux or Optical input and the powered subwoofer to the "LFE/Sub output". I hope that helps My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Ryan

Q
What kind of stand would you recommend for these speakers? Thanks
huiminf631154109  Apr 05, 2017
1 answer
A
I have Pangea stands that are 24" tall. I use a loctite version of Blue tack. This keeps them in place nicely and helps with killing some of the bass. No way you need a sub with these speakers.

Q
Can I hook up a stereo fm receiver the the Klipsch Sixes and if so, how/where?
mark  Mar 11, 2017
1 answer
A
The Sixes are powered speakers (built-in amplification) so, you would not connect them to a receiver/amplifier. If you have a component FM tuner, you can connect the analog pre-amp output from it to the auxiliary audio input on the Klipsch. I hope that helps. Q
Do these have the power/presence to fill up a family room where you would be about 12-15 feet away from the TV?
thomas h.  Oct 18, 2017
6 answers
A
This system will fill a large room, IME. I don't use these for TV however, as the range is too wide. The way movies are mixed nowadays, the dialogue is inaudible and everything else is too loud. We prefer a $100 near-field cordless bluetooth speaker for movie dialogue; the range is right in the middle and the dialogue isn't drowned out by the bass. We should probably figure out how to use all the speakers at the same time!
parker  Apr 09, 2018
A
I think 12 - 15 feet away would be the sweet spot for these speakers. I only use mine for music, but they can fill my small home's first floor (700 - 800 sq. Ft) with great sound. While I was very happy with the speakers on their own, adding a subwoofer brought them up to the next level. So you could look at these speakers as being "upgradable" if you want.
brad  Oct 20, 2017
A
From my experience, I feel that when you get that far away from these speakers, you lose some of the bass presence. You might want to add a subwoofer. Mids & highs are fine at this distance.
karl  Oct 19, 2017
A
yes, but I'm not sure how well they'd work as speakers for your TV. I have mine opposite (facing) the TV, on tables on either side of the sofa.
