About the Nuvo NV-SUBTXRX

Wireless flexibility for subwoofers

As an audio enthusiast, I've built many home audio systems over the years. Each time I build one, it never fails that I struggle to find the most discreet cable route from my receiver to my powered subwoofer (I often have it distanced from the rest of my system). One thing's for certain: if cables weren't part of the equation, things would be much simpler. Nuvo's answer to this problem is their NV-SUBTXRX. This kit includes both a receiver and a transmitter and can turn any regular powered subwoofer into a "wireless" one. (Remember, it'll still need AC power.)

The signal path starts at the transmitter, which gets plugged into your receiver's LFE or RCA subwoofer output. You'll connect the wireless receiver to your subwoofer's corresponding input. Once all that's done, and both the transmitter and receiver are hooked up to power, you'll hit the pairing button on each to get them to "talk" to each other. After the short pairing process is complete, you're ready to rock.

The transmitter and receiver can talk to each other from up to 50 feet away, which gives you maximum placement flexibility. If any signal interference is detected, both modules will change their operating frequencies to negate the effects. Probably the coolest part about this system is that one transmitter can work with up to four SUBRX receivers! That's right — it allows you to run the audio signal wirelessly to four subwoofers in your room.

Q
What frequency does this operate on? Will it interfere with my WiFi.

Greetings Jack, and thank you for your question. The Nuvo NV-SUBTXRX transmits at either 5.2 GHz, or 5.8 GHz. most all home wireless routers are dual band 2.4 or 5 GHz, Tri band adds 6 GHz. So the Nuvo transmits a different frequency.

Q
Does this have an on/off button? Don't want the pairing LED you remain lit at all times when my avr and subwoofer are off.

This Nuvo NV-SUBTXRX Wireless adapter does not have a traditional on/off button, Alexander. All of our wireless subwoofer adapters will have an LED indicator while in operation, and I cannot find any that have a traditional on/off button sadly. You could consider using the SVS Soundpath in the link below instead, it is slightly smaller and could be tucked away a little easier in a location where you could not see the LED indicator. I hope this helps! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_946SNDPATH/SVS-SoundPath.html

Q
Can this item paired with Floor standing speakers Polk S60 Elite and Polk subwoofer HTS 12? Please let me know before I order this item.

You got it, Rasheed! No worries here, this Nuvo NV-SUBTXRX wireless subwoofer adapter can work with any powered sub. You have up to a 50-foot range on this unit too! This would work great with a Polk HTS12 and you can even add up to four wireless subwoofers if you need just by grabbing an extra receiver in the link below. No worries here Rasheed, good to go! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_717SUBRX/Nuvo-NV-SUBRX.html
