Rugged Enclosure: The Dymension Outdoor Series AW-550 loudspeaker features a rigid, acoustically inert mineral-filled enclosure for protection against the elements. With an IP66 rating, the AW-550 is built for practically any weather condition.

Silicone-Sealed Binding Posts: The Definitive Technology AW-550 s outfitted with a set of silicone-sealed, 5-way binding-post terminals that will accept bare wire (up to 12AWG), pin-connectors, spade-lugs, and banana plugs (single or dual).

Mounting & Placement Options: One pair of AW-550 speakers will cover approximately 200-400 square feet of listening area at moderately loud levels. The AW speakers should be positioned as close as possible to the listening area and pointed directly at the listening area to maximize the output level (the driver/tweeter/logo side should point toward the listening area). Also, remember to point the speaker in such a way as to allow water to roll off the driver cone and/ bass radiator. The side of the speaker with the nass radiator can be placed facing an adjacent surface, such as a wall, the underside of an eave, the ceiling, or the ground, as long as there are at least a couple of inches of clearance. Positioning the passive radiator near a large surface will provide louder bass. For less bass, move the speaker farther away from the wall, ceiling, eave or ground.

• Surface-Mount Installation: The Dymension Outdoor Series AW-550 includes a mounting bracket to install the speaker to an outside wall or under an outside eve. The included surface-mount bracket allows you to adjust the outdoor speaker up to 60-degrees to place it in the most optimal position for outdoor listening. When surface-mounting the AW-550, the speaker may be oriented either vertically or horizontally.

• Table-Top Installation: The AW-550 speaker can also simply be positioned on a flat table-top surface, either vertically or horizontally. When positioned vertically, the bracket must be removed. When positioned horizontally, the bracket remains installed and acts as a table-top stand that can be secured to the flat mounting surface, as well as tilted up and down..

Speaker Pre-Conditioning (Break-In): The Definitive Technology Dymension Outdoor Series speaker should sound good right out of the box. However, a pre-conditioning (break-in) period of 20-40 hours of normal playing at moderate volume is required to reach full performance capability. Pre-conditioning allows the driver suspensions to loosen and results in fuller bass, clearer, more open midrange, and smoother high-frequency reproduction.
