I have a pair of the older Definitive AW6500 outdoor speakers out in my gazebo, driven by a WiiM Amp streamer. The sound is quite phenomenal. So, when I was looking to upgrade my surround speakers in my 50 year-old log home, I didn't forget that these gems should be a top consideration. I looked for dedicated surround and bookshelf speakers that either had built-in adjustable mounts, or could be used with a reasonably clean looking mounting system. I quickly learned that most surround speakers are designed to be mounted on the side walls with limited horizontal adjustability. For structural reasons, mine have to be mounted just behind my La-Z-Boy recliners high on the corners of the back wall. I chose the DT AW-550 because of its smaller size and similar specs to the 6500's. Their sound is perfect for this purpose! They blend in seamlessly with my much higher end front speakers and subwoofer. 5.1 surround music from Super Audio or Blu Ray discs sounds excellent. The highly dynamic sound from a Marvel Universe movie is phenomenal. The 550's keep right up with the towering sound from my floor standing fronts. Great full spectrum sound with respectable bass. (I dialed my A/V receiver's high pass filter in to 80 Hz to limit the lows to these smaller speakers.) All in all, I'm extremely pleased with these speakers. Consider them highly for both interior and exterior home needs.

Pros: Great sound and power handling. Very nice mounting system.
