Definitive Technology DT6.5R

I bought Def Tech speakers to match my other speakers. I replaced the rear speakers that were a different brand left over from when I changed out the surround sound system. These speakers are incredible giving sound I never had before. Crutchfield is a good place to get good information and price. I had no problems getting my speakers.

Great Atmos Speakers

Finally took the plunge for Dolby Atmos, these speakers sound great and blend perfectly with my other Definitive speakers. I was about to go with another brand as I didn't pay attention that these actually do have adjustable tweeters (which I needed as they were going into a vaulted ceiling), which a Crutchfield advisor pointed out. Very happy as always with their good service and fast shipping.

The speakers sound great..There was no switch on the speaker to change to surround nor an arrow to point the tweeter (I just moved it)as per the manual.

Great speakers

These are great. I put them in ceiling for atmos. They sit in the hollow space of my basement ceiling between the joists. I did not box them in but I did put rockwool around them. I listened with and without the rockwool and it sounded better to me. So you don't need a back box but something to reflect sound will help.

excellent value/upgrade.

I used these to replace a pair of Polk RC60i ceiling speakers in my 5.2.2 surround system. The greater frequency response makes them more effective for this application and they offer a richer sound quality. They have greatly improved any Dolby/DTS Neural X viewings. It also helps that my setup is with all Def Tech speakers. Crutchfield is the go to place for home theater or any HiFi ventures. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to slide these into the cutouts for the Polks. A little extra room, but they fit.

Excellent Speakers and Customer Service

I bought these speakers on the recommendation from Diane, a Crutchfield customer service rep. These speakers replaced a pair of Polk RC60i which I was very unhappy with. I put up with the Polk's for more than 5 years after being installed during a full house renovation. They were recommended by the installer who wired the house. When speaking with Diane and explaining the reasons I was dissatisfied with the Polk RC60i's she suggested the Definitive Technology DT6.5R's. The DT6.5R's were almost $300.00 more for the pair but well worth the extra money. The Polk's sounded tinny and cheap. The DT6.5R's hav a rich, full sound with significantly more bass. The installation was a snap since they fit perfectly in the same space as the Polk speakers. I was very pleased with the knowledge, and expertise of Diane. I highly recommended these speakers and the Crutchfield shopping experience, which is very unusual in this day and age. I'm a very happy and satisfied customer. Thank you Diane and Crutchfield. You have earned a new customer!
