The NAD DD HDM-1 Modular Design Construction (MDC) module is designed to complement your NAD Masters Series M12 stereo preamp or NAD C 390DD Direct Digital stereo integrated amplifier by giving it the capability of switching between three digital video sources. It handles full 3D signals and video resolutions up to 1080/60p. On the audio side, these ports pass stereo signals of up to 24-bit/192 kHz resolution. Adding this module will help your M12 or C 390DD to handle video as elegantly as it handles audio, increasing its value and utility as the heart of your entertainment system.

Modular Design Construction: The advantages of a pure digital system are many, but one drawback is the constantly changing delivery formats for digital content. Each of these formats typically requires specialized hardware and software, often with licensed IP and content copy protection. For this reason, NAD places all digital interface circuitry on easily upgradable modules. NAD calls this 'Modular Design Construction' or 'MDC'.

DD HDM-1 HDMI Module: The NAD DD HDM-1 is a HDMI upgrade module for select NAD digital integrated amplifiers and Masters series direct digital stereo preamplifiers. The  DD HDM-1 offers three HDMI inputs and one output with video pass through. This opens up the possibility of using your NAD C series digital integrated amp or Masters series direct digital preamplifier as the heart of a "Video 2.0" system using the mandatory two-channel linear PCM soundtrack (up to 24-bit/192kHz) from Blu-ray or DVD to make a compelling two-channel high definition theatre presentation. Many Symphony Orchestras and some specialty music labels are also released in HD recordings on Blu-ray or DVD. The DD HDM-1 is 1080p/60Hz & 3D video compatible, but there is no surround sound decoding or video processing.
