Pleasantly Surprised HTM72 S3 speaker

This speaker was what it was needed on my set up. Sound is crystal clear & the same for voice & dialogue. Is amazing what a good center channel can do for your system. Vintage Carver power amp, Anthem AVM 70 processor,Bowers & Wilkins center channel Definitive BP 2004 ( vintage ) front & JBL sub & yes I recommend this Bower & Wilson HTM72 S3 center channel speakers & almost forgot, you will be pleasantly surprised when u open the box, it's a Beautiful piano finish.

Clear highs and tight bass

Another high quality speaker to match the 704 s3 speakers. The speakers are paired with a Marantz Cinema 50 Avr, emotiva basx3+, a 10" emotiva sub, and lg c3 oled. The cinema 50 was fine by itself with these speakers but I wanted to control the bass more with a higher damping factor. I can say the amp improved the sound at lower levels and increased detail. Jazz and vocals sound great as well as classical. Bob James around the town horns are at levels and clarity I have never heard before. Pink floyd and yes rock too. Lastly, I had to blast smoke on the water. Ran me out of the room.
Pros: Fits in av console. Very understandable dialog.
Cons: Price is high. Had to block the rear port. Wish all the speakers had front firing ports.

A genuine upgrade on the HTM 72 S2

I have B and W 804 D3 speakers as my main tower speakers and had to have an HTM72 S2 as my centre speaker. ( Not enough room in my set up to have a700/ 800 series centre with the tweeter on top) . I was never happy . The S2 speaker did not match the towers visually but more importantly the sound did not integrate well . It seemed thin and a compromise - which it was . I preferred to listen to music in Stereo( just using the 804s) and not use an Atmos or Spatial Audio input because it would engage the S2 centre channel - which was noticeably a weak link in my set up. The new HTM 72 S3 is touted as having a trickle down of technologies from my old 804 D3 so I thought it might integrate well with my 804's and decided to give it a try. An expensive gamble given I was changing out an old series HTM 72 for a new series HTM 72. It turned out to be an amazing upgrade . The S3 is a substantial upgrade on the S2 , the range ,depth and clarity are excellent . My wife is hearing impaired and she appreciates the improvement . ( Ironically my hearing recently tested as perfect- but to be honest her evaluation of a speakers clarity is more demanding) . I have the Marantz Cinema 50 ( an excellent Crutchfield recommendation ) and we are now able to watch TV with the highly effective Marantz Dialogue Enhancer turned off most of the time. Finally and most importantly - it integrates seamlessly with the 804 D3 .

great sound, good music and dialog capabilities. just the correct size to and does not have the cyclops tweeter on top
