Fantastic Sound!

This is an awesome product. First set up was easy. The first time I opened the case they immediately paired to my iPhone which had the B&W app installed on it. Then they requested a firmware update. I also pair them to a work iPhone and a MacBook pro. My first use was for work where I used them working from home for phone calls and zoom or Microsoft teams meetings. The sound quality for calls is outstanding. They seamlessly switch between my three apple devices while working depending on what I'm doing. The real test came later that first day with music. Through bluetooth with music on my iPhone they were awesome. They have a very neutral sound with a hint of warmth. Music separation and soundstage are awesome. Next I tried them in case transmission mode with my phone and Quboz for streaming in lossless. The sound quality easily bests some very good wired earbuds that I have. The product is also very comfortable. It took a bit of trial and error to find the right fit in ear tips. Turned out the default medium ones installed when they came turned out to be the right ones. I can't speak to ANC use as that is something I typically don't use.

Pros: Very neutral sound signature with a hint of warmth. Lossless music playback with the case transmission mode. Comfortable.

Cons: None that I've noticed.

These earbuds are excellent! They are easy to install and very comfortable for extended listening. The sound is clear, detailed, and balanced. I love these. I want to give a shoutout to Crutchfield's service. After I bought these for full price, they went on sale. I called to ask if I could get the price break. They were happy to do it. Thank you, Crutchfield.

Pros: Comfortable, high quality

any Audiophile will enjoy these, as will small ear canals

Craig Steven from CARLSBAD, CA on 3/1/2025

I was in the market for wireless earbuds and picked up a pair of these based upon reviews and demand. I compared these to Technics AZ100 and Sony XM5. B&W are small but a bit bigger (though not imbalanced). They are a bit heavier (7g/0.58oz), and oval. They paired easily with my iPhone after downloading the app, and the case accepts a charge and will charge the earbuds Out of the box, I had to change the earplugs to the smaller version, but it comes with several sizes. Before EQ adjustments in the app, I found the sound bright but not to excess. The music notes were fuller with a deep base and clear vocals. The soundstage was very clear and broad. I only made minimal EQ tweaks in the app These were a keeper for me, I had to weigh the sound against the comfort/fit, and had to choose the B&W for my small ear canals over the Technics I think any Audiophile will enjoy these immensely

Pros: everything, highly recommended

Cons: little heavier and bigger than others

Great Sound but Glitchy Two Stars

Michael from Fredericksburg, VA on 12/27/2024

The B&W Pi8 replaced my Sony WF-1000XM4 that I'd purchased about 2.5 years ago. Disappointingly, the Sony's left ear bud started dying just as the 2 year warranty expired, so I've been on the lookout for an audiophile level replacement. I found it with the B&W Pi8. While the Sony WF-1000XM4 were top rated at the time and sound very good, the B&W are in another class altogether. Bass response, resolution, and imaging (for ear buds) are top notch. But don't take my word for it, The Absolute Sound's Tom Martin favorably reviewed these ear buds and was very impressed. I also considered the Devialet Gemini II in my research, but for another $100, I wasn't sure I could justify the price. I've had no issues with the B&W unlike a small few customers have reported. I cannot be happier with my purchase from Crutchfield. UPDATED 1/6/25: I purchased the B&W Pi8 to replace my Sony WF-1000XM4 ear buds because the left ear bud died at 2.5 years. So, I've been researching for an audiophile level replacement, and I thought I had found it with the B&W Pi8. The Pi8 sound quality is outstanding and was favorably reviewed by The Absolute Sound's Tom Martin (high-end audio publication). Unfortunately, my Pi8's suffered from glitches unacceptable for a product at this price. The Pi8 worked as designed for about 2 days, then glitches started appearing. Notably, the noise cancellation would not toggle on or off, ear bud touch control would sometimes not work, and the streaming signal would just drop even though my iPhone was in my hand. I even performed a factory reset and reinstalled the app to see if the issues would resolve.no. Thankfully, Crutchfield's generous return policy allowed me to exchange my Pi8 for the Devialet Gemini II after paying the price difference.

Pros: UPDATED 1/6/25: Bass response, resolution, imaging, and flat response.

Cons: UPDATED 1/6/25: Software or hardware glitches, connection issues.

Better earbud tips, please

Michael from Santa Cruz, CA on 12/9/2024

The sound can be exceptional IF the stock, wobbly, silicon earbud tips work for you. I ended up reusing the tips from my older Sony XM4s and this change made the difference resulting in ultra wide stereo imaging, articulated center stage, and a balanced tone presentation. I was going to send them back until I swapped the silicon tips out.

Pros: Potentially amazing sound Decent iOS app for setting EQ Third party tips fit

Cons: The stock earbud tips won't be for everyone because they are soft and wobble. This creates a sonic impact while walking

Great sound; Not so great noise cancellation

Huy from Charlottesville, VA on 10/3/2024

Verified employee review (What's this?)

The sound is great when you are playing music. Wish they had more eartips sizes. The three that are provided do not fit my ears perfectly which gives me the feeling that they may fall out. While I read that the noise cancellation was good but not great like that found on Bose earbuds, I feel like they are ok not good. If you are in a quiet environment, the sound of these earbuds are spectacular. But I'm getting bleed through noise while walking through the airport or on the street, sitting on a bus, etc. I'm so disappointed in the noise cancellation that I'm probably going to purchase the Bose Quietcomfort Ultra earbuds. I really wanted to like these earbuds.

Good sound, lots of connection issues.

Javier from Juncos, PR on 9/29/2024

Verified employee review (What's this?)

For true wireless earbuds they do sound amazing, even better than my previous Bose over-ear headphones. But they do have a lot of connection issues and latency issues. I don't know if updates might fix them overtime, but they are the first headphones I've ever had with massive connection issues. I don't know if the product is faulty, in the way they connect and disconnect sometimes feels that way. Most of the time they reconnect by tapping the earbuds like if they were faulty or failing. But if not, for the price that's unacceptable.

Pros: 1. Really Good Sound. 2. Comfortable. 3. Fairly Good Transparency and Noice Cancellation. 4. Case Transmission Feature is Amazing.

Cons: 1. Lot of Connection Issues. 2. App Could be Slightly Better and Less Buggy. 3. The Touch Controls and Sensors on the Earbuds are not the Best.

Love the quality of the sound and comfortable fit. Only issue I had out of the box was that only the right side worked. A quick factory reset and it was all better. Sound was well worth that little snafu.

Pros: Sound quality Fit

Cons: Price

Nautilus vs. p.o.s. tws-pi8 ????

Atrociously harsh metallic : cold sound . Kept for 2 purposes: re-broadcasting & those annoying late night full volume dolby atmos commercials ! EQ is perfect ! , but if you're looking for natural sound ? ! , you can start with other brands that are a lot less , Upgrade to Denon Perl Pro.

Pros: Late nite earbuds ,transmission t.v. great fit !

Cons: G-d awful unrealistic sound profile ! ,even when using app eq .,no higher volume than you'd actually want . HAVE any of your new engineers been to a live CONCERT ! Ok so What the heck !

Absolutely Stunning!!

These earbuds are EXACTLY what you would expect from Bowers & Wilkins! Incredible sound that carries through the desires of the artist to your ears. The amount of depth and control that these have is unbelievable, unless you hear it yourself, from something this size. The ANC is set at a point to block out sound in the lower frequency ranges, but does not over cancel to distort the sound of the source material that you are enjoying. These are very comfortable for all-day use, if needed. The case fits great in a pocket without being too bulky, and it allows for wireless charging. I also like the feature that allows you to plug the case into a 3.5mm jack and still use the earbuds. I plan to use this on plane rides and with my Xbox for those times when I want to play quietly and still hear the action. If I have one minor critique of these, it would be the voice pick up while on a phone call. As is the case with earbuds of this form factor, speaking through them on the phone makes the person sound a bit distant, but the person can hear you and the conversation can be had with them.

Pros: Sound Quality Active Noise Cancellation Customizable EQ Comfortable Case Size Battery Life

Cons: Voice Pick Up Could Be Better
