Pros: Able to program with phone
Cons: Flashing the module online, your exact radio may not show up and you have to choose the next closest one

Unit makes keeping OEM steering wheel control easy.
Pros: Keeps steering wheel controls
Cons: Does not give you a very long data cable to flash the unit (6"). If the cable was longer, you could position it somewhere easy to get to. You'll have to remove the stereo if you need to flash it again.

DO IT, so worth it
Jordan from KAILUA, HI on 4/10/2025
2017 Ford Transit Connect Cargo
The website said this module wouldn't fit my van; perhaps because my van doesn't have steering wheel controls? Duh. Well I really only wanted it for the integration of the factory reverse camera to my aftermarket (Boss) stereo. I paired the module with the boss easy radio harness and my specific van's wiring harness. DO NOT BUY AMAZON's wiring harnesses; that was a total nightmare, a waste of 3+ hours, and I will never make that mistake again. I Just installed the new Crutchfield wiring about 30 minutes ago, and I was so excited that it worked that I came straight to the computer to write this! Yes, I don't have steering wheel controls, but for $120, it saved me the headache and probably several hours of rewiring an aftermarket reverse camera. I've done those in the past, and they are tedious. I'll pay this again and again if and when I have the opportunity. Never buying stereo equipment from Amazon ever again. Crutchfield has been my go-to for 20+ years, and I'll be a lifer. Not to mention free shipping to Hawaii. Thank you Crutchfield!
Pros: Ease, convenience, saves a ton of time and headache. It's worth pairing it with the easy wiring harnesses
Cons: Maestro's desktop user interface seems outdated, and cumbersome. I feel like it could be done better (took me less than 10 minutes to set up), but this day in age, you would think it'd be instant

Jeff from Stratford, CA on 3/2/2025

Perfect package per website. Bought it for wife's jeep commander, happy wife, happy life! Standard wiring splicing, Quick programming, easy to install. Remember the steering wheel controls won't work unless you plug them in, Cable included but I missed it..
Pros: Easy installation straight forward instructions. Had to do a quick splice job to radio harness, other than that everything is plug and play. Step by step programming. No complaints.
Cons: You have to read the instructions to know to use the steering wheel controls won't patch cable.. one real complaint, is that the bezel for the install kit is glossy and the dash is not. Could paint it to match.

May be good if your radio model is supported.
Raymond from Franklin, OH on 1/29/2025

I admit I'm not exactly sure if I could have installed without this or not but I'm assuming it did something. I did not retain my ability to fade which is what I thought this was for. When I flashed it the program had a lot of radios like mine but NOT my model Kenwood DPX305MBT so I had to use the generic flash which may have resulted in my fader not working even though I was told it would work. But the radio plugged right up and works so I'm willing to overlook the fader and steering wheel controls not working. Thinking I may have been able to not waste money on this piece all together but who knows.

Worth it
Nolan from Atascadero, CA on 1/12/2025
2005 Audi A4
Super easy to program and install. I was a little worried before I knew how the process would go but it's impossible to mess up. Only thing I would complain about is I have a rolling dial to change volume and the maestro processes the dial output quite a bit slower than I can roll the dial. So the dial works but it behaves more like a button rather than a fluid motion wheel like one would expect from a spinning volume knob. Solution is I just roll the dial one click at a time. Slight in inconvenience. Does its job none the less. Would recommend.
Pros: Easy install. Easy programming. Decent price point. Must have features for volume buttons.
Cons: Wheels behave more like buttons than wheels when hooked up to maestro. That's said with nothing to compare it to but the stock stereo.

Perfect for retaining steering wheel controls
Sean from Knoxville, TN on 10/27/2024
2012 Jeep Wrangler
This is a must to keep your factory steering wheel controls with an aftermarket radio install. On the jeep Jk it also allows you to reassign your buttons on the steering wheel to work however you desire. Keep in mind you will need to update on a computer and flash this unit how you want it to work. Very simple to do. Simple plug and play no hard wiring required when using their harness adaptor to plug into factory harness.
Pros: Easy to install, comes with instruction on the website after flashing, plug and play at least for jeep jk.
Cons: None really, have to flash it.

PHENOMINAL
Jared from Southington, CT on 10/2/2024
2005 Volkswagen Jetta
Crutchfield has amazing shipping and a better recognition of vehicle fitment and descriptions/literature than the manufacturers. For this it was easier to know which products I needed to retain all functions for my vehicle with the factory amp, steering wheel controls, and accessories all without splicing wires but simply connected harnesses made for my vehicle. They are the best priced, shipping, informed customer service and overall, THE BEST hands down. This product is the remedy for audio headaches. Thanks to Crutchfield my 2005.5 Jetta with a mkvi steering wheel retrofit is working and sounds better than ever and I haven't even done the amp and subwoofer yet. My factory amp and 10 speaker setup are phenomenal again. I will only be doing business through Crutchfield and iDataLink Maestro devices in the future for this reason. Not to mention the maestro technology leaves doors open for a huge variety of upgrade opportunities. Plug and Play keeps the stress away!
Pros: PLUG AND PLAY easy to flash and navigate correctly cake work install and just a tight and neat small setup preventing too much space being taken up.
Cons: I have zero cons but would recommend paying attention to older radios with different power connections making sure if you need a harness between the back of the radio to the maestro/factory wiring harness they probably have it.

Luke from Hesston, KS on 7/7/2024

Too bad cars need these adapters to work with steering wheel controls and factory amplifiers. This was fairly easy to set up, but gave us a scare at first power on. This device powered right up, but the stereo didn't have power. It had to be flashed with the right configuration before the radio would even turn on. Works correctly with a 2006 Jeep Commander with factory navigation radio and steering wheel controls.
Pros: Steering wheel controls and factory amplifier work great with this device.
