S8-GM1 APX Installation Kit: The iDatalink Maestro APX Series S8-GM1 kit allows the installation of an APX-compatible Kenwood or JVC aftermarket radio with 8" screen in select GM vehicles when used in combination with the iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 Car Radio Replacement Interface module (sold separately).
- Vehicle Compatibility: Select 2014-2019 GM vehicles with factory 8" screen. Click here for list of compatible vehicles.
- Radio Compatibility: APX-compatible Kenwood & JVC aftermarket radios with 8" screen - including the DAX8000S, DAX800XR, and KW-Z800AW.
Notes:
- The S8-GM1 installation kit requires the purchase of the iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 (sold separately) and the download of a vehicle specific firmware from iDatalink Weblink Desktop (for Windows and Mac).
- In some installations, the Kenwood KCA-A150EX or JVC KS-UA50 extension cable will also be required and sold separately.
Direct T-Harness Compatible: The S8-GM1 supports iDatalink Direct T-Harness (sold separately) for direct connection to a compatible APX-compatible Kenwood or JVC aftermarket head unit (some hardwiring may still be required).
Factory Fit: The S8-GM1 installation kit includes mounting hardware and harnesses to retain your vehicle's factory radio bezel and controls for a factory appearance with aftermarket performance, and without the need of a plastic dash kit.
Retained Factory Features: The S8-GM1 installation kit, along with the iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 interface module, allows you to retain the following GM factory features (if applicable).
- OnStar & Bluetooth Hands-Free: The vehicle's factory OnStar emergency services system, along with factory Bluetooth hands-free can be retained.
- Steering Wheel Controls: Factory steering wheel controls are retained with two function buttons and expandable radio functions.
- Backup Camera & Park Assist: Factory backup camera is retained with dynamic parking guidelines and park assist chimes (chime speaker included). If you add an aftermarket front and/or side cameras (sold separately) to your iDatalink compatible head unit that is equipped with multiple camera inputs, the vehicle's factory auto camera switching feature is also retained.
- USB Retention: Your vehicle's factory USB ports are retained for compatibility with your new radio's Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wired connection.
- Climate Display & Control: The factory climate display and control can be accessed from the touchscreen of your APX-compatible aftermarket head unit.
- Vehicle Settings & Secondary Vehicle Display: Access and modify factory vehicle settings through the compatible aftermarket head unit's touchscreen. Secondary vehicle display is also retained (if factory equipped) with audio information, hands-free information, and internal navigation.
- RAP & Warning Chimes: The vehicle's RAP (Retained Accessory Power) & Warning Chimes (external chime module included) are both retained.
Note: If your GM vehicle features a factory amplifier, the factory amp cannot be retained and must be bypassed or replaced with an aftermarket amplifier.
Extra Features: The following Extra features are added when using the Maestro RR or RR2 Car Radio Replacement Interface module and the S8-GM1 installation kit.
- Vehicle Info: Tire Pressure Display, Battery Voltage Display, Read/Reset Engine Codes, and Door Open Status with Warning.
- Gauges: Selectable Performance Gauges, "Track Pack" Gauges, and Read/Reset Check Engine Codes.
Outputs: The S8-GM1 installation kit provides Navigation, Accessory Power, and Illumination Outputs to make installation simpler.
