Great product to invest in if you have a newer car with a factory amp. I made the mistake and bought a generic brand and nothing worked and then I bought this and as soon as I pull the harness out the box I knew I made the right decision. I installed it and everything worked all my speakers worked.
Pros: Easy installation instructions
Cons: Space management

This harness is super easy to use especially when partnered with the pre terminated harness for your radio. I was able to flash the RR module, install the new radio, and test the functionality of it all within an hour or so. I would definitely use this harness again in the future.
Pros: Plug and play install with no additional wiring needed (2014 Malibu)
Cons: Only con is the harness comes with more connections than you need so the initial scare factor for anyone new trying this is overwhelming. Once you flash the module and get the wiring diagrams off the flashing software, it goes over exactly what harness connectors you need

Jonah from PORTLAND, OR on 7/6/2024
2013 Chevrolet Malibu
absolutely love how easy everything was to set up! My first time doing the wiring, and it was not time-consuming at all. Would definitely recommend!
Pros: -Super easy to connect -All wires tucked away behind my aftermarket screen -Retained my Chevy chime -Everything I needed was in one order as opposed to waiting for different parts to arrive.
Cons: -The chime isn't from my car, it's now coming from speaker (not a big deal, just happy i still have the chime! -When playing music, the chime dims the sound of any other audio

I just finished my install with the idatalink and the connectivity between my Kenwood DNR1007XR and my 2013 GMC Sierra Denali 3500 HD was excellent. I actually gained features that I didn't have. I wasn't, however, able to retain my apple USB port in my center console. I was sold a recommended adapter that did not match the connectors of my head unit or vehicle. I just installed a pass-through USB socket, compatible with Apple and Android. I wish there was a way to program and flash the idatalink when all connections are made. As it stands, I would need to do a deep dive into my dash and disconnect the module in order to program and flash. Make sure you do a full functional test before closing everything up. But with my concerns I still think it's a five star. The instructions for my vehicle were not available. I think there is room for improvement in that regard.

Essential for a quality install! Has everything you'll need, and more. For additional install help, contact Crutchfield customer service, they're great help!
Pros: Vehicle specific, easy to follow along
Cons: Some unused plugs are not completely removeable from the harness. Not a big issue, but things do get crammed behind the receiver, naturally. It'd be nice to remove what's not needed.

Terry from Floresville, TX on 1/29/2024
The instructions are not good at all they show pictures that diagrams that are very generic. I am having to send mine back the backup camera will not work after taking it out 4 times and on the phone with tech support over 4 hours at several different times. hopefully the new on will get the job done.
Pros: if you get a good one it is great
Cons: very hard to go by the install guide after you search through over 500 pages to find the proper one

Harness
Chad from Colwich, KS on 1/21/2024

Seems to be close to plug and play. I do however now have static when volume is semi high. Was told by Crutchfield tech to cut new harness black ground wire and "T" off and connet new ground to vehicle chassis. If this is necessary why doesn't an alternate ground come with iDatalink HRN-HRR-GM2? Still haven't completed this option. Tired of taking my new stereo in and out if vehicle.

Works perfectly just had to cut and splice the power connector to my power connector for my screen but other than that worked flawlessly saved me from having to return my radio and getting a new one
Pros: Connected to everything flawlessly and feels high quality
Cons: Needs another part to work which is costly Also doesnt have rear screen connector but shouldnt matter if you dont use it

Overall happy
Matthew from Phoenix, AZ on 11/29/2023
2012 Chevrolet Suburban
I bought it thinking it was more so a gimmick than anything else. It was 100 dollars more than any other integration harness but claimed full function and some extra features. For me it was worth it to find out. The entire install required zero cuts into the factory harness. I didnt use any crimps, everything was plug amd play minus the flashing and programming of the Rr. Super simple and straight foward. What impressed me the most is how well the factory bose amps and speakers sound now with this harness and the pioneer head unit. By far the best sound quality and integration into a factory system of anything I've done before. It's hard to pin point where the quality comes from, whether it's the harness, the head unit, or the factory bose equipment. But I recommend what I did to everyone, every dollar was very well spent and I'm completely happy. 2012 Suburban LTZ with the factory navigation/bose, Maestro Rr with idatalink and every option, pioneer avh-2550nex.
Pros: Great sound quality, so many features you can write a book about it
Cons: Bulky, getting everything back in place was somewhat of a chore.

This harness made installing our new radio very easy. With this harness, and a Maestro unit, all the factory installed features (SWC, amp, back-up camera) function normally.
Pros: Not having to doing any splicing.
Cons: The manual covers many GM vehicles. Make sure you find yours before starting the installation.
