Easiest way to wire a car
Christopher from Doylestown, PA on 7/2/2025
2017 Toyota Prius
I remember the bad old days when we'd crimp and solder harnesses together. Thank goodness we don't have to do this anymore. This harness even accounted for production variations. It included a 16 and 24 pin adapter depending on which way the car was built.

Complete range of connections and easy to install
Russell from Broomfield, CO on 6/19/2025
2017 Toyota Highlander Hybrid
This harness includes everything needed to easily install the radio and integrate with the Maestro unit. Unfortunately the connection with the review camera harness doesn't securely fasten so I needed to reinforce the connection with tape. I believe the problem is with the harness on the head unit so I'm giving this item a 5 star rating.
Pros: Complete range of connections for my application and easily installs
Cons: Not a secure connection to rear view camera harness

Backup camera connector doesn't mate properly
Watson from WEST HARTFORD, CT on 2/8/2025
2017 Toyota Camry
The harness for the Toyota Camry kit has two variations for connecting to the vehicles harness. The black iDatalink internal connection doesn't mate properly. It's surprising since both sides of the connection are from iDatalink. I had to cut the connector and mate the wires together manually. 6 of the 8 wire colors were the same on both sides of the connector. It was less clear how to connect the last two because the cut the connectors off without checking the matches. It took me a couple of tries to get it working since there were two black wires on one side and a black plus brown on the other. The connector in question is the black one on the two harness parts in the bottom right corner of the product picture. Neither connects to their main harness (in the top right of the picture) properly. Trouble shooting that added about 2-3 hours to the install time.
Pros: Most, but not all, of the connectors worked
Cons: Instructions are complex Backup camera connector doesn't mate

Plug and Play, except...
Maramanee from WI on 11/22/2024
This was definitely easier than splicing wires (though I had to do that anyway with my backup camera), but I had no real clear instruction on what plugs into what. Or even what everything is; I had to figure out the OBD port thing, then guess which one hooked into the rest of the harness, and I had the same problem many others had with the A plug. I'll need to get electric tape on it to make sure it stays, but the A plug definitely does not attach properly, and I can't believe iDatalink hasn't fixed that. Other than that, still pretty much plug and play.
Pros: Easy to plug in, once you figure it out.
Cons: No real clear instructions past "plug in harness."

Works awesome: two minor complaints - the backup camera connectors don't clasp like the other ones, I had to use a channel lock to clamp down and get it to clasp - the antenna wire connector came with a female type connector but the accompanying antenna had bare copper. This was easily solved by using one of the recommended inclusions of harness connectors but would have been nice if this were mentioned in instructions.

Manufacturer Defect
Deidre from SAN FRANCISCO, CA on 9/12/2024
Bought this to connect the BOSS stereo I bought to my 2018 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and the Maestro iDatalink. Goal being to upgrade factory JBL stereo to one with Apple CarPlay, but without losing access to my backup (multi?) cam views. I don't blame Crutchfield for this, but it seems to be a factory defect with the manufacturer because Crutchfield Support sent out two of these to me next-day air and both had the same problem, which is... the harness comes with two connector (options A and B, depending on car) for cameras. Both would NOT fully connect. One of the Crutchfield reps I spoke with mentioned that this had come up with a couple of other people, and that the recommendation was to plug it in as far as it would go, and then tape it together with electrical tape. Not my preferred option, but I did try it and it is not working. Photos attached. This has definitely been a bigger pain that I thought it would be. Even with all the wire connecting (on the first round), I took it as a challenge or a puzzle to solve (even though it was confusing and took several hours). But now, on my third shipment, the fact that it still doesn't work and my car has been in my garage for the past few weeks... I am about to give up! Moral to this story... I wouldn't recommend this particular harness. Can't comment on anything else, as I have not been able to get even the baseline to function. #sad

Cons: connectors do not fit

2014 Toyota 4Runner
99% pleased. I expected, based on the info both here on Crutchfield and on Maestro's website, to retain maintenance menus, etc. But I didn't. Also, if using with a Sony stereo, make sure you read the directions carefully. There is a blue harness connection that mates the RR2 to the head unit via 3.5mm jack. This retains the steering wheel controls. It's not specifically stated anywhere. And make sure you get the head unit specific adapter so you don't have to cut and splice wires to the head unit's pigtail.

Just buy it! Not only do you keep your controls in the steering wheel and retain the cars computer functions, but it saves hours of labor with splicing and crimping. Seriously it's just plug and play if you are not using aftermarket amps! They even wrap the wires so it's not a mess in a box! Like who does this for you anymore!

Made installing my Alpine head unit in my 2017 Tundra easy. The harness itself is well made, secured and clearly labelled. The wiring diagram pdf that Crutchfield provided was essential, as there were no paper instructions included, although it took me a few minutes to fully comprehend. This was my first major electronic upgrade I've tackled on my own. I ended up not needing a couple of the shorter connectors for my particular vehicle. If you take your time and plan out the orientation before taking it out to your vehicle, the install should go smoothly. I would definitely recommend this harness to anyone looking to upgrade their head unit and maintain all controls with a Maestro module.
Pros: Well made, labelled, easy to use, maintains all vehicle functions
Cons: No paper instructions included, wiring diagram can be a little confusing, not a lot of slack in the wiring.

A must for making the wiring connections if you are a complete novice like me. These were a lifesaver for connecting the JBL radio with the 2015 Toyota RAV4 XLE w/o JBL factory wiring. The wiring is still a little complicated, but with patience can be figured out. Crutchfield tech support was great helping me figure out the connection I was missing for the backup camera. Also, pay close attention to the wiring guide as it will help eliminate the wires not needed for your specific car.

can't imagine splicing all the wires without this
Gary from North Alabama on 4/16/2023
2015 Toyota Camry
Given the number of wires in a modern car head unit install, especially when incorporating the Maestro unit to keep steering wheel controls, back-up camera, etc., this is a must. With this and the radio-specific adapter, I was able to connect up between a Pioneer and a 2015 Toyota Camry with only one barrel splice (the blue antenna wire). Gave 4 instead of 5 stars because of a QC problem with one of the connectors. One of two adapters for a particular stage of the wiring harness must be selected depending on your vehicle model. Making this connection was not possible with the first one I got, so had to wait for a replacement. 2nd copy of this worked perfectly.
Pros: worked perfectly when I got the 2nd copy
Cons: QC problem with the 1st one I got.

It's a good kit overall. Fails to retain the factory microphone and reverse camera functionality though. The factory system sends the radio a signal telling it it's in reverse. It's pin 2 by the way. The kit completely fails to utilize this pin so you'll have to splice into the factory harness which defeats the purpose of this kit. I'm not a microphone expert so we can hide that under the rug. The reverse camera thing is just poor design. At this price just throw an extra pin/wire into harness.
Pros: Easy plug and play for the most part
Cons: Reverse camera functionality

Pretty annoyed, I had a rep put together a system for me so I could keep the guess work out of things. After being assured I have all I need, I began installing the replacement head unit. I found that the t-02 harness does not fit my factory harness and I was sent the incorrect parts. Now I am concerned that I will not be able to source the right parts. The 28 pin connector connects, but the 6 pin and 10 pin connector are nothing close to what plugs into my factory harness. I have a 2013 Prius with the factory jbl system with an amplifier and gps. I was very clear about this when discussing it with my advisor.

2019 Corolla Good, Required slight modification
Diego from Richardson, TX on 10/25/2022
2019 Toyota Corolla
Bought this for my corolla w/ Pioneer radio and Maestro module. The harness it self is pretty good and all the connectors matched with no issues. Instructions (Had to find them online) were pretty good and are vehicle specific. The color-coded EWD was good but some wire colors did not exactly match up but was not difficult to figure out. Instructions were detailed but I felt that some information was left out about installation and how the harness works, again not difficult to figure out if you know what you're doing. After everything was wired up and installed, I had no back-up camera. I had video signal from my factory camera but would not show when going into reverse. There was a wire for the R signal input to the radio but it went straight to the module. The harness did not tap into the vehicle's R signal wire from one of the connectors used, that pin was simply not used. I had to un-pin a wire from a connector from the harness that was not used and pin it to the R signal and run that wire to the radio. After that my R signal input worked fine. Overall pretty pleased with the harness
Pros: Well made harness Neat and clean No connector fitment issues Good instructions
Cons: Modification required for full function depending on vehicle

Plug and Play. Easy install. It works. Keep in mind AUX-in connection on the 3rd Gen Tacoma will be lost.
Pros: Plug and Play
Cons: No more AUX-in connection. (Never use it anyway).

Made the install much easier. However was not exactly a plug and play. The power source had a 17 wire adapter and my receiver had only 15, so I did have to do some soldering to connect the harness to the receiver. Not hard just an issue I was not expecting.
