Product Research

Features

iDatalink Maestro to Head Unit Adapter: The iDatalink ACC-HU-KEN2 adapter harness allows for direct connection between select Kenwood or JVC aftermarket radios and compatible iDatalink Maestro vehicle specific harnesses used with the iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR or ADS-MRR2 radio replacement interface module. The ACC-HU-KEN2 adapter harness will replace the wiring harness that comes with your Kenwood or JVC radio. There is a 16-pin Kenwood/JVC connector one end that plugs into the back of your Kenwood or JVC radio and a 20-pin iDatalink Maestro connector on the other end that will plug into a compatible iDatalink Maestro vehicle specific harness. The 16-pin Kenwood/JVC connector features the following wiring pinout.

Black 16-Pin Connector
Pin # Wire Color Function
1 Yellow +12V Constant
2 Red +12V Accessory
3 Blue/White Amp Turn-On / Power Antenna
4 Open (None)
5 Green/Black Left Rear Speaker (-)
6 Green Left Rear Speaker (+)
7 White/Black Left Front Speaker (-)
8 White Left Front Speaker (+)
9 Black Ground
10 Orange/White Illumination
11 Open None
12 Blue/Yellow Steering Wheel Remote Input
13 Violet/Black Rear Speaker (-)
14 Violet Rear Speaker (+)
15 Gray/Black Front Speaker (-)
16 Gray Front Speaker (+)

Note: The Steering Wheel Control Wire (Blue/Yellow) does not terminate at the iDatalink Maestro 20-pin connector and is terminated by a 2-pin molex connector.

Parking Brake & Reverse Gear Leads: The ACC-HU-KEN2 adapter harness has a Parking Brake wire lead (Light Green) and a Reverse Gear wire lead (Violet/White) on the 20-pin iDatalink Maestro side of the harness that does not terminate at the 16-pin Kenwood/JVC connector. This is because your compatible Kenwood or JVC head unit will have these same leads attached to the back of the chassis of the radio and not within the radio's wiring harness. The Parking Brake wire lead (Light Green) and a Reverse Gear wire lead (Violet/White) of the ACC-HU-KEN2 will hardwire to the identical leads on the back of your compatible Kenwood or JVC radio.

What is the difference between the ACC-HU-KEN1 and the ACC-HU-KEN2?
nsacco69  Jan 30, 2024
1 answer
A
These are two different harnesses with different pin-outs, Nicholas. The KEN1 and KEN2 harnesses are used when installing compatible Kenwood and JVC radios to specific compatible iDatalink Maestro installation harnesses using a Maestro or Maestro RR2 interface.

Q
Does this fit ( JVC KWM-180BT) Radio head unit it says it connects to select Kenwood and JVC head units?
david  Jan 12, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings DJ. Thank you for your question. This harness is specific to Kenwood/JVC stereos that have the Idatalink port, then to an interface by called the Maestro. It does not have any vehicle specific plug on the other end. Your JVC KWM-180BT also does not have the Idatalink port. So you would have to go the more traditional route and get a vehicle specific harness and wire it to the JVC.

Will this work with Kenwood dmx7709s installing into a Silverado?
leaston  Dec 26, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Leaston. Thank you for your question. This is not all one would need to install a new stereo in any vehicle. Its not specific to any one vehicle, but it is specific to certain model Kenwood, and JVC stereos to connect up to the Idatalink Maestro programmable stereo interface. Please contact one of our advisors at 800-324-9695 to check on other installation gear you will be needing.

blake  Nov 11, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Blake. Thank you for your question. I get this question a lot on these Idatalink harness'. What this is is an easy way to connect certain Idatalink ready Kenwood stereos to the Idatalink Maestro programmable module via the Idatalink T harness. The vehicle and the stereo both need to be Idatalink capable. Unfortunately the 2003 mustang is a tad too old for the Idatalink Maestro.

Q
Will this fit a 99 toyota sienna w/ factory amplifier to a Kenwood KDC-MP3 4 5U?
nicholas  Nov 09, 2023
1 answer
A
This iDatalink ACC-HU-KEN2 harness is used when installing new Kenwood radios with iDatalink Maestro installation interfaces and supported vehicle specific install harnesses, Nicholas. This would not work with your KDC-MP345U. You will need the harness originally supplied with your KDC-mp345U radio and the Metra 70-1761 in the link below. The Metra harness bypasses the Factory amplifier (if equipped) located behind console, under radio. The Metra 70-1761 wiring adaptor will plug into two connectors at the amp location to bypass the amp. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120701761/Metra-70-1761-Receiver-Wiring-Harness.html

Q
Will this work for a JVC KDSR73 going in a 2015 Caravan? The factory radio is a single disc am fm.
abeef  Sep 10, 2023
1 answer
A
It will not, Anthony. the iDatalink ACC-HU-KEN2 is used for newer Kenwood radios when also installing a compatible iDatalink Maestro interface and adapter harness and is not guaranteed to fit older models like the JVC KDSR73. If you are installing a single DIN non touchscreen radio and you do not have the factory Subwoofer in your Grand Caravan the link below is a great install kit if you already have the radio. Since you are installing a non-touchscreen with your JVC KDSR73 you cannot retain backup camera, UConnect, or park assist features. You must have the original harness from the KDSR73 as well to splice onto the installation interface in the kit below. We are always here to help, so if you need call us at 1-800-324-9695 and an Advisor can help you get exactly the parts you need! https://www.crutchfield.com/I-rXYEc222/cart/EmailCart.aspx?emKey=3213083

Q
will this harness fit a Kenwood DDX276BT in a 2005 Chevy 1500 Silverado?
tim  Aug 17, 2023
1 answer
A
It will not, Tim. This iDatalink ACC-HU-KEN2 harness is only used with compatible Kenwood radios when installing an iDatalink Maestro interface and vehicle compatible t-harness. You will most likely want to use the PAC RP5-GM11 wiring interface in the link below to install your Kenwood DDX276BT using your Kenwood radio's included harness to splice onto the PAC RP5-GM11. This harness works for many trim levels of Silverado in 2005, but we need to know your trucks trim specifics to confirm anything. Use our Vehicle Guide in the link below to enter your truck's key details, and we can also pair any other install gear you may need for your specific trim level. If you have any questions or need help getting your order placed, do not hesitate to call us at 1-800-324-9695 and an Advisor would be happy to help. https://www.crutchfield.com/m_266150/Car-Stereos.html

I show that Kenwood model calls for the ACC-HU-KEN1 instead. You will also need to make sure you are using the Maestro interface and appropriate vehicle-specific iDatalink harness in addition to this for installation in your vehicle.

Q
Does this connect to Kenwoods DNX697S?
charles  Jun 07, 2023

A
Greetings Charles, and thank you for your question. The DNX697S uses a 22 pin plug connector, and this Maestro adapter is a 16 pin, so no it will not. They have a 22 pin version that will, but you still need the Idata Maestro interface and their T harness to make it all plug in together. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_794HUKEN1/iDatalink-ACC-HU-KEN1.html

dillon  May 09, 2023

A
This iDatalink ACC-HU-KEN2 harness is used with select new Kenwood radio packages paired with iDatalink Maestro interfaces and Maestro vehicle specific harnesses. The PAC RP5-GM11 interface harness is the best option for installing an aftermarket Kenwood into your 2003 Yukon Denali. You will have to splice the wires from your radio's harness on to this PAC interface. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_541RP5GM11/PAC-RP5-GM11-Wiring-Interface.html

Would this fit a Kenwood DPX794BH?
matthew  Apr 16, 2023

The 16-pin radio plug on this iDatalink ACC-HU-KEN2 will match your discontinued Kenwood DPX794BH Matthew, but the iDatalink ACC-HU-KEN2 harness should only be used when also paired with an iDatalink vehicle specific harness and a Maestro RR or RR2 interface. If a replacement original harness best suits your install needs, you can source one at the Kenwood accessory store in the link below! https://store.kenwoodusa.com/

Will this work with a Kenwood dmx7709s to an 06 chevy hhr?
bricktop  Apr 15, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Dylan, and thank you for your question. This adapter is not specific to any vehicle, its specific to many Kenwood and JVC stereos to adapt them to the Idatalink Maestro interface, and T harness which would be the vehicle specific harness. Unfortunately they are not compatible with an 06 HHR. To find the right wire adapters, have your vehicle listed on our site, add the Kenwood stereo to your cart, at that point you will then get an overlay of the install parts needed.

Would this work to connect the DDX9907XR to the Maestro RR2 in a 2015 Ford Edge Sport?
kevin  Mar 18, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Kevin, and thank you for your question. This Idatalink ACC-HU-KEN2 is compatible with your year Edge depending on which audio system it came with. We have a select few stereos that can actually fit where the factory multifunction display is now. There is less than 4 inches of depth, and the Kenwood DDX9907S is nearly 7 inches deep. You would have to cut out a very large portion of the dash cavity to get it to fit. If you use our vehicle fit guide, you would find stereos that will fit, and all the installation gear needed when you add that stereo to your cart.

This will not, Anthony. The iDatalink ACC-HU-KEN2 is used with new Kenwood radios when paired with an iDatalink Maestro install package. You will want to use an iDatalink Maestro install package with your 2016 Rogue, the link below works for Bose and non-Bose models that year. Check the install bits out in the link below, everything you would need besides your radio! I hope this helps. https://www.crutchfield.com/I-rXYEc222/cart/EmailCart.aspx?emKey=3095541

It is not used as a replacement harness for the Kenwood stereos, or does it have a vehicle specific radio plug end on it.

kelsi  Dec 20, 2022

A
Greetings Kelsi, and thank you for your question. What the Idatalink harness is for is to connect a Kenwood Idatalink compatible stereo to the Idatalink Maestro wire interface. That all it would do. It is not used to connect a standard Kenwood stereo to any specific vehicle. Please contact one of our advisors at 800-324-9695 and have them find the right harness for your application.

dalton  Nov 12, 2022

A
Greetings Dalton, and thank you for your question. The answer is no, it will not. That harness is to be used with a Kenwood stereo and a wiring interface from Idatalink (Maestro). The Maestro interface is not available for the 2004 F150. If you are buying the Kenwood stereo from us, and add all the installation gear, there is an option we can connect most all the wiring for you. we call it the ready harness service. That can only be done if you are buying everything from us.

ACC-HU-PIO1 compatibility with Pioneer W4500NEX?
freeswsrvs  Nov 11, 2022

Not compatible it looks like, Free. The iDatalink ACC-HU-PIO1 should only be used with specific Pioneer radio's and compatible iDatalink install harnesses. These show up in our package builder when they are a good fit, and should really not be used otherwise. You can check the radio and your specific vehicles install packages for the sweet Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX in the below link to our online guide. https://www.crutchfield.com/m_266150/Car-Stereos.html

I would not advise using the iDatalink ACC-HU-KEN2 with a previous radio Shawn. These are really designed to hit the easy button on new radio installs with iDatalink packages. These DO fit some older model radios but we can set you up a little better. We need to know the exact model on your Jeep, so give us a call at 1-888-324-9695 and we can put together just the install bits that you will need to drop your sweet Kenwood in!
