Vehicle Compatibility: The iDatalink Maestro KIT-R8 consists of a dash kit and vehicle harness designed specifically for select 2008-2015 Audi R8 vehicles (all trim levels). The KIT-R8 lets you replace the factory radio with an iDatalink Serial Port compatible head unit using the Maestro RR or RR2 Car Radio Replacement Interface module (sold separately).

Head Unit Connection: The KIT-R8 supports iDatalink's Direct T-Harnesses (sold separately) for direct connection to select iDatalink Serial Port compatible head units, replacing the wiring harness that comes with your aftermarket stereo (some hardwiring may still be required). If connecting to an aftermarket head unit that does not support an iDatalink Direct T-Harness, you'll need to cut off and remove the 20-pin black connector from the KIT-R8's harness and splice each wire directly to the aftermarket radio's corresponding wire.

Flashing Module via Weblink Desktop: The iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 will need to be loaded with correct firmware before installation. The included USB cable plugs into your computer and allows you to "flash" the Maestro RR or RR2 with the appropriate firmware to prepare it for installation. Simply download Weblink Desktop (for Windows and Mac) onto your computer to access the appropriate firmware.

Factory Fit & Finish Kit: The KIT-R8 Installation Integration Kit features a factory grade fit & finish to match the contour and color of your vehicle's dash. The dash kit is compatible with double-DIN (4" tall) receivers equipped with an iDatalink Serial Port. The dash kit even offers integrated push-button controls for the most often used control functions such as Source Select, Volume Up/Down, Answer/End Phone Call, Voice Recognition, Gauges/Vehicle Info, Previous/Next Track, and Mute.

Retained Features: The following factory features (if applicable) are retained when replacing your aftermarket head unit with a compatible iDatalink Serial Port head unit using the Maestro RR or RR2 Car Radio Replacement Interface module and KIT-R8
R8 integration installation kit.

• Factory Amplifier: Retains factory amplifier with balance and fade control.
• Steering Wheel Controls: Factory steering wheel controls are retained with two function buttons and expandable radio functions.
• Backup Camera: Factory backup camera is retained with parking guidelines, as long as your aftermarket radio features a composite video backup camera input. If you add an aftermarket front camera (sold separately) to your iDatalink compatible head unit that is equipped with multiple camera inputs, the vehicle's factory auto camera switching feature is also retained.
• Secondary Vehicle Display: Song/Artist Info & Caller ID displayed on the factory installed Multi-Function Display (MFD) in the vehicle's instrument panel (if equipped).

Extra Features: The following Extra features are added when replacing your aftermarket head unit with a compatible iDatalink Serial Port head unit using the Maestro RR or RR2 Car Radio Replacement Interface module and KIT-R8 installation kit.

• Vehicle Info: Tire Pressure Display, Battery Voltage Display, Read/Reset Engine Codes, and Door Open Status with Warning.
• Gauges: Selectable Performance Gauges, "Track Pack" Gauges, and Read/Reset Check Engine Codes.

Outputs: The KIT-R8 provides Navigation, Accessory Power, and Illumination Outputs to make installation simpler.
