Does The Job For Standalone X-1 MAX Installation
James from PALM COAST, FL on 6/2/2024
It does what it needs for standalone operation of an X-1 MAX: Connects the hot and ground via the OBD II port without needing to cut and splice. It has ample cable length (current model Challenger in my case) for a clean and fairly stealthy install, allowing you to make the X-1 MAX harder to find or reach were someone to notice the cabling. A little pricey for what it is, but other than finding and tying in to an 'ignition on' source, it doesn't get much closer to simple 'plug and play.'
Pros: Well built, factory look dressing, supplied OBD II port end allows for replacing OEM plug through lower dash to keep OEM look. Fairly long cable for routing and placement options.
Cons: A little pricey, where an option for a simple three-wire cable (Power, Ground, Ignition-on') might be a better alternative for the more experienced DIY-er.
