Features
2-Way Driver Design: The Paradigm CI Home Series H55-IW v2 in-wall loudspeaker employs a 2-way driver design, featuring a 0.75" tweeter and 5.5" mineral-filled polypropylene mid/bass woofer for wide, uniform dispersion of well-balanced sound.
- Perforated Phase-Aligning (PPA) Tweeter Lens: A Perforated Phase-Aligning (PPA) Lens protects the delicate tweeter dome. PPA technology acts as the Phase Plug, blocking out-of-phase frequencies for smoother, extended high frequencies with incredible detail and higher output. The tweeter is also Ferro-fluid damped and cooled to ensure smooth high-frequency performance with amazing clarity across a wide listening area.
- Mineral-Filled Polypropylene Mid/Bass Woofer: The mineral-filled polypropylene mid/bass cone woofer uses an oversized computer optimized ferrite magnet and high-power motor structure to deliver detailed midrange performance with clean, extended bass.
Spring Post Terminals: The Paradigm H55-IW v2 in-wall loudspeaker is outfitted with spring post terminals that accept bare wire (up to 12AWG), pin-connectors, and banana-plugs (single only).
Bezel-Free, Micro-Perf Magnetic Grille: The Paradigm CI Home Series H55-IW v2 in-wall speaker comes with a bezel-free micro-perf grille that magnetically attaches to the front of the speaker and protrudes only 0.25" from the wall. The grille is white, but can be painted to match the color of your wall.
Mounting Options: The Paradigm CI Home Series H55-IW v2 requires a rectangular cutout in the wall that measures 6.125" (w) x 9.1875" (h) x 3.125" (d). Rigged ABS clamps secure the speaker in the opening of your wall. The ABS frame and clamps strengthen the area around the mounting hole, while removing unwanted resonance and vibrations. Pocketed screw holes help to hold your drill steady during installation, plus torx-guided clamps protect against stripping.
- Supports 0.25" to 1" thick drywall. Make sure to leave 1.0" of clearance around the interior of the cutout to accommodate the torx-guided clamps.
- When installing the speaker, pick a location between wall studs.Be careful not to damage any wires when you cut the installation hole.
Applications & Placement: Paradigm's CI Home Series can be used in distributed audio, stereo, and home theater applications. For the most accurate timbre and imaging, place speakers approximately equal distance apart and select locations that allow sound to reach the listening area unobstructed. Placing speakers near corners will emphasize bass. However, for a more balanced sound, avoid corners when considering speaker placement.
- Midrange and high frequencies are affected by room furnishings. For best sound, your listening room should contain an average amount of curtains, carpets, sofas, etc.
- Strong, rigid walls and walls are preferred for best bass balance. For even better results, add cross-braces at about 12" above and below (either side) the speaker to further increase rigidity.
NRC Partnership: Paradigm is partnered with Canada’s world-renowned NRC in ongoing research to reveal the true nature of sound and human hearing. Findings influence design and performance specs, resulting in a uniquely realistic listening experience, backed by sound science.
