Features
1" Aluminum Magnesium Ceramic (AL-MAC) Tweeter: AL-MAC is Paradigm's unique blend of Aluminum, Magnesium, and Ceramic materials; each of which contribute to the end goal of greater accuracy and realism. Their special properties contribute to the final product which is not only strong and lightweight, but embodies a natural anti-resonance to ensure the tweeter doesn't just sound good "on paper" but truly sounds great in real world applications.
- Perforated Phase-Aligning (PPA) Tweeter Lens: A Perforated Phase-Aligning (PPA) Lens protects the AL-MAC tweeter dome. PPA technology acts as the Phase Plug, blocking out-of-phase frequencies for smoother, extended high frequencies with incredible detail and higher output.
- Reduced Edge Diffraction (RED) Technology: Reduced Edge Diffraction (RED) Technology significantly reduces the adverse effects of high-frequency diffraction while improving frequency response.
6.5" Carbon-X Cone Mid/Bass Woofer: Paradigm's exclusive Carbon-X Cone woofer combines lightweight stiffness with high consistency for a greater degree of accuracy and smooth, uncolored frequency response. The Carbon-X Cone woofer also feature long excursion voice coil motors for greater power handling and reduced power compression. The 6.5" Carbon-X Cone mid/bass woofer is housed in an FEA-Optimized ultra rigged cast-aluminum basket with advanced shock-mount system, plus utilizes a patented Active Ridge Technology) surround for high output sound with no audible distortion.
- Active Ridge Technology (ART) Surround: Made in-house and over-molded directly onto each cone, the Active Ridge Technology (ART) Surround, achieve greater excursion for a 3dB gain in distortion-free output (50% greater) compared to drivers with standard surrounds.
- Ultra Rigged Cast-Aluminum Basket: The FEA-Optimized ultra rigid cast-aluminum basket features integrated heat sinks for higher power handling, for better bass, better dynamics, and less power compression.
- Advanced Shock-Mount System: An advanced shock-mount system mechanically decouples the die-cast aluminum baskets from the specially formulate CARBON-X ingrained baffles reducing performance-robbing vibrations and resonance between the chassis and the acoustic platform. Without these resonances, the driver is left free to deliver pure, unaltered sound with no audible distortion.
Premium-Grade Components: Premium-grade components include high-power rated resistors, capacitors, and heavy-gauge wire conductors; as well a nickel-plated spring post terminals and a rear component shield.
- Nickel-Plated Spring Post Terminals: The Paradigm P65-IW v2 in-wall loudspeaker is outfitted with nickel-plate spring post terminals that accept bare wire (up to 12AWG), pin-connectors, and banana-plugs (single or dual).
- Rear Component Shielding: A rear component shielding protects internal parts from debris. The polycarbonate material creates an installation that will not warp. This flat cover also makes it easy to lay the speaker down during the installation process without tipping.
Bezel-Free, Micro-Perf Magnetic Grille: The Paradigm CI Pro Series P65-IW v2 in-wall speaker comes with a bezel-free micro-perf grille that magnetically attaches to the front of the speaker and protrudes only 0.25" from the wall. The grille is white, but can be painted to match the color of your wall.
Mounting Options: The Paradigm CI Pro Series P65-IW v2 requires a rectangular cutout in the wall that measures 7.0" (w) x 10.1875" (h) x 3.6875" (d). Rigged metal clamps secure the speaker in the opening of your wall. The nylon reinforcedframe and metal clamps strengthen the area around the mounting hole, while removing unwanted resonance and vibrations. Pocketed screw holes help to hold your drill steady during installation, plus torx-guided clamps protect against stripping.
- Supports 0.25" to 1" thick drywall. Make sure to leave 1.0" of clearance around the interior of the cutout to accommodate the torx-guided clamps.
- When installing the speaker, pick a location between wall studs. Be careful not to damage any wires when you cut the installation hole.
Applications & Placement: Paradigm's CI Pro Series can be used in distributed audio, stereo, and home theater applications. For the most accurate timbre and imaging, place speakers approximately equal distance apart and select locations that allow sound to reach the listening area unobstructed. Placing speakers near corners will emphasize bass. However, for a more balanced sound, avoid corners when considering speaker placement.
- Midrange and high frequencies are affected by room furnishings. For best sound, your listening room should contain an average amount of curtains, carpets, sofas, etc.
- Strong, rigid walls and walls are preferred for best bass balance. For even better results, add cross-braces at about 12" above and below (either side) the speaker to further increase rigidity.
NRC Partnership: Paradigm is partnered with Canada’s world-renowned NRC in ongoing research to reveal the true nature of sound and human hearing. Findings influence design and performance specs, resulting in a uniquely realistic listening experience, backed by sound science. Paradigm's CI Pro Series is designed and manufactured in Canada.
