Excellent sound

Very good sound right out of the box! Three days and 12 or so hours of play time, with all sorts of music these speakers sound fantastic. Mostly a jazz listener I thought that these might need a sub to bring out the sound i was looking for. NOPE they have the presence that i was looking for, from vocals to ride cymbal these speakers perform.

Pros: Small footprint, Clarity of sound, excellent bass response, tend to dissapear visually in the room

Cons: Only come in three colors

Grail Speakers

End gamers for me. Excellent tonal balance and extremely neutral. Have VERY smooth highs and mids. Excellent bass response, however due to the fact that they are so neutral you have to create any frequency peaks (or dips for that matter) with your EQ. With it one can really get that professional, high-end, deep, and round ("tucked in") bass with these. These speakers really make one feel like they are in the big-boy game. My 4th set of Paradigms in my 15 years with them and I've been extremely please with every set. ????

Pros: Excellent tonal balance - Smooth and controlled highs/mids - Deep and tight bass that does not flub out of the tonal balance spectrum - Beautiful aesthetics - Excellent construction - Made in Canada

Cons: Drivers would have been nice matte instead of shiny.

I really like these. The sound is true to the Crutchfield speaker compare feature. After a few hours of play they are starting to break in and sweeten up. I have them in my 23×14 living room powered by a NAD c3050, and they sound great

Very pleased with the clarity and depth and richness of sound for music; in stereo they sound as good as my headphones, even in my funky room layout. These are a substantial upgrade from my previous tower speakers and worth every penny. Right now I'm listening to them without a subwoofer and they are more than adequate. After the novelty of great-sounding speakers wears off I plan to plug my subwoofer back in to get those last Hz. Extra kudos to Crutchfield for packing them really well.

Pros: Clarity Rich sound Solid bass Wide listening area Easily powered Beautiful glossy finish Magnetic grille Can be placed relatively close to the back wall One of the narrowest form factors in this price range

Cons: None

Gob-smacked!!!

These speakers are my first foray in the world of hifi. Coming from a home recording studio monitor background I am stunned by their quality (and quantity) of sound! I measured them 1 meter from the tweeter and found them to be within +/- 6 dB from 43 Hz to 9 kHz powered by a Yamaha A-S801. They start to rise gradually at 4 kHz to +7 dB at 20 kHz. I have them set up with minimal toe in because their dispersion pattern is nice and wide. With this set up they're within +/- 6 dB from 28 Hz to 20 kHz at the listening position. All this at only 10 inches from the front wall (minimum of 8 inches is recommended)! Tonally, they are very neutral, which is consistent with all of the reviews I read online. They have sufficient bass for practically all music; the only reason to add a subwoofer is for content will lots of synth sub-bass. I can't think of how their sound could be improved and they're also very pleasant to behold. With all they offer I'd say they're an extremely good value.

Pros: Wide dispersion pattern Very easy to drive to loud volumes Very neutral tone when set up properly Resolving when fed well-recorded material

Cons: They're a bit top-heavy so some-what easy to tip over

Big sound for the money! They were a good buy when they where 1000 dollars more, with the lower price they are a steal! They produce very accurate and clean sound. Great for music and cinema. Paired with paradigm subs the are remarkable. Can't buy a better speaker for the price. Also don't take my word alone audioholics has great review of them on YouTube. Currently running these speakers on a marantz cinema 30 avr.

I'm just starting to break the 800f's in but they sound fantastic paired with my Anthem MRX 1140. I have a 10" PSB sub to fill in the deep base and it sounds like I spent a lot more to get this sound! I'm very happy with my purchase!

Crystal clear, shimmering highs, deep and rich bass. Amazing. And that's straight out of the box. I imagine they will sound even better once they're broken in a bit.

Pros: The sound and the appearance are both top notch.

Cons: They are not incredibly stable, being tall, slim and heavy. I would recommend nice, heavy, solid wood risers to place them on.

Still breaking in, but so far the paradigms are a delight. Image and stage very well, also a flat response +/-3db from 40 to 20k. Can't ask for much more.

Pros: Imaging, staging, frequency response, dynamics.

Love my new 800f's! I first bought the Paradigm 200 bookshelves, nice but I wanted more depth and a bigger soundstage. Thanks to Crutchfields generous 60 day trial, I returned the 200's for the 800's. No comparison. Paradigms are the best value speakers on the market!

Pros: Narrow fit, great looking, killer sound.

Cons: could be more stable

Pleasant Hill

First off, despite the deservedly glowing reviews these towers get, they are no where near Paradigm's 'flagship' series. Above this product line arises Paradigm's 'Founders' and then the ethereal 'Persona' series. The Persona series top end includes Paradigm's Anthem electronics integrated for an active sub-bass experience which is so far beyond anyone's expectations... just like the extant customizations that can be applied to them. Over the top. That being said, I bought a pair of MiniMonitor 7's years ago and they mesmerized me into this purchase because I wanted to see what Paradigm could offer me in a standalone (tower) experience. I can't afford $20K/speaker like the Persona series but I am enjoying the Premier 'F' series and switching my subwoofer off because I appreciate how these units represent the soundstage. I have these units bi-amped with a Sony-ES reciever and they afford pleasure to the auditory senses. It is true, afford these speakers 4-ohms to explore their power-reaponse nirvana and they will reward you. Whatever your setup, Paradigm made these. They have never made a speaker that doesn't dazzle your auditory senses.

Just got them hooked up today. Had to pair them with an older Pioneer reliever. They sounded good right out of the box then after about an hour the soundstage really started opening up. Was surprised at how good they sounded with a 10 year old receiver. Can't wait to see what they sound like once I get them hooked up to my tube amps

Excellent Performance & Build Quality

Christopher A from Anderson, SC on 5/5/2022

Verified employee review (What's this?)

This speaker truly performs wonderfully and is competes well against speakers costly significantly more - very pleased with my purchase! My focus is 2 channel listening, but I also wanted speakers that would work well in a home theater setup and these definitely deliver! Their sound is neutral but not overly analytical, and there is just a touch of warmth to vocals which I love. I'm coming from a pair of Klipsch RP-8000F's which are great in their own right, but the 800F is a more refined sound. I know there's much debate in the world of audio about break-in period for speakers, but I definitely noticed after about 40-50 hours of continuous playback that the highs smoothed out and the sound across the entire frequency range was tighter and quicker than right out of box. While rated as 'compatible with 8 ohms' you will be wise to give these speakers some quality power with an amp stable down to 4 ohms to let them really show you what they are capable of. Crutchfield was amazing to purchase from and customer service is simply outstanding! I ordered these late in the day on a Monday, with a delivery time projected of the coming Wednesday - but they processed my order and I had them the NEXT DAY... wow!

Pros: - Solid Construction - Attractive Design - Neutral Sound with Very Good Soundstage & Imaging

Cons: - They perform their best with good amplifiers that can handle 4 ohm loads without an issue - Give them some break-in time to really let them show you what they can do

Superb

Purchased a pair of these to replace my Definitive Technology Mythos ST (beware when buying any speaker with a built-in sub as they will fail). Having a pair of older Paradigm Studio 20 bookshelf speakers in another room, I was confident that these would sound good. Good is an understatement. These are wonderful speakers. Music is natural without boosted treble or bass. Cymbal hits sizzle, shimmer and decay naturally without fatigue and there is "air" around the sound. Bass is strong without being boomy or muddy and extends deep without a subwoofer. If you're using these solely for music, you probably don't one. Mids are smooth and natural, vocals sound like the performer is in the room. Upper mid register instruments like saxophones are immediate and real sounding. Use these speakers on a good recording and they will reveal things you've never heard. Whole-heartedly recommended.

Pros: Neutral sound. Treble open and airy, no fatigue. Bass clean and tight. Midrange is silky and smooth. Musical and revealing.

Cons:

Got a pair to replace an older set of Definitive towers. Much better sound stage and I love the dome tweeters. Excellent for vocals and soft Jazz. Cabinets are top notch and the gloss back are amazing. Running with Rotel 1572 integrated amp and and CD player.

Pros: Great Value Magnetic fronts Good sound at even loud levels

Cons: none that I can detect
