Paradigm's Rock Monitor 80-SM speaker sports a rock-like appearance to blend in with the surroundings of your landscaped outdoor listening area. This single stereo-input speaker can connect to both the left and right channels of your system's amplifier, ideal for spaces where installing a pair of speakers is impractical. Its sealed (acoustic suspension) enclosure resists UV rays and is self-draining, for continuous full exposure to the weather.

We love Paradigm's scientific approach to creating natural-sounding speakers. This one's kind of natural-looking, too. Inside, a pair of 1" pure titanium dome tweeters, offset at 30° angles, help project both halves of the stereo signal in a wide sound pattern. A dual-voice-coil 7-1/2" woofer handles the midrange and bass.

Features

Overview: The Paradigm Rock Monitor 80-SM lets you add high-quality sound to your patio, lawn, pool, flower bed, or other outdoor area while discreetly blending into the surroundings. The Rock Monitor 80-SM is available in Fieldstone and Northeastern Dark Granite.

Drivers: Designed to provide stereo sound from a single speaker, the 80-SM features one 7.5" dual voice-coil woofer and twin coaxially-mounted 1" tweeters that are offset at 30° angles, providing a wide stereo spread. The woofer features an ICP (Injection-Molded Co-Polymer) polypropylene cone and oversized ferrite magnets on the motor structure. The two tweeters feature Paradigm's PTD (Pure-Titanium Domes) for smooth, clear high-frequencies.

Enclosure: The Paradigm Rock Monitor 80-SM sealed enclosure is constructed of durable PolyGlass with a Faux-Stone finish, providing durable weather-, water- and UV-resistance and excellent sound quality. The 3-way driver is protected by a stainless steel grille that's painted to match the enclosure.

Wiring & Power: The Rock Monitor 80-SM is wired as a stereo speaker with two pairs of 40" speaker wire extending from the bottom of the enclosure for a Left/Right stereo connection. Each set of wire feeds one of the woofer voice-coils and one tweeter. The speaker wire is encased in a heavy protective jacket with bare ends for connecting to your amplifier. Each channel presents an 8-ohm load and can handle 15-60 watts RMS.

Mounting: The Paradigm 80-SM outdoor speaker is designed to sit on a flat surface or ground area. It can be installed on a grade of up to 20° while still allowing for adequate drainage. The speaker can provide a 20' (approximately) wide dispersion arc in front of the speaker and can be used in conjunction with multiple Paradigm rock speakers for smooth, even sound throughout your area.

Security: The Rock Monitor 80-SM includes a 12" security stake to reduce the chance of theft or unauthorized movement of the speaker. The security stake can be embedded in the ground and has an attached 40" cable that secures to a built-in eyelet on the bottom of the enclosure, letting you keep the stake and cable out of sight.
