EMI issues
William from Columbus, OH on 4/15/2025
I have big problems with EMI at my house so that has a lot of impact on my review. Might not be that much of an issue for most people. I plugged the mini into my MOTO M2 computer interface and the meters started jumping up about half-way. Oddly enough I could not hear the static. I went through my drawer of old wall warts and tried several. I found a 12V with a ferrite bead on it and the level went down a good bit. Eventually I found an old laptop power supply and the level went down even more. I plan to use this mostly with Vinyl Studio to digitize my records and with the other power supply it seems to be working OK. I did some tests and now I don't hear much difference between this device and the phono preamp in my Yamaha receiver, which is very good. If you don't have EMI issues this is probably a good little unit but it was a hassle to get it going.

Research if your looking for a bargain
John from Clinton, CT on 11/7/2022
Does the job works well . The 3 stars is for product only. Crutchfield in my mind one of the best online audio stores. Can I have gotten a better deal . Maybe! If it wasn't for Crutchfield I wouldn't have found it, This was a purchase for a friend. The plus at this price point is that it will accept HIGH OUTPUT MC.

Great solution for vintage turntables
Marshall from Fair Lawn, NJ on 2/8/2022
The Music Hall Mini solved my problem of connecting my vintage turntable to powered speakers. Records sound clean and rich through the preamp.
Pros: simple and easy to connect and use
Cons: Wish it had an on-off power switch and more inputs (for, say, a CD player, in addition to the turntable) but the pre-amp does exactly what it promises.

Flat and uninspiring. Exactly the same product as another brand but at twice the price. Wish I knew sooner so that I could return for a refund.

Disappointing
Paul from Landers, California on 9/16/2016
Regardless of how I ground this device I still get a steady 60hrz hum through my amp.
Pros: Small footprint, easy to hook-up.
Cons: I get a steady 60hrz hum through my amp with this device, regardless of how it's grounded.

Works like a charm.
Gary from Hays KS on 4/27/2016
Replaced an older Yamaha receiver with a newer one that required a pre-amp so I could use my turntable. Plugged in cables and had sound. Works well.
Pros: Price and works fine.
Cons: None
