Not what you expect

Well, I hate to break the trend of awesome reviews on these speakers. After 19 years with my loyal Boston Acoustics Voyager Pro's on my pool patio I decided to replace them, only because I was remodeling my pool and patio. I figure after almost 20 years, technology had to be slightly better. So I did quick research and saw some people mentioning these Martin Logan's, I went to Crutchfield and all the reviews were 5.0 out 5.0, price was no cheap. Hey what can go wrong, right? Unfortunately the sound was not good, the worst part was the bass, it sounded very artificial. I was so disappointed. I spend a lot of time prepping my walls for the brackets and I really tried for about 3 days to like them. I did a test side by side (on one side the ML and on the other the Boston Acoustic). I was blown away at how incredibly awesome my 19 year old Boston Acoustic sounded. Also the woofers on the Boston speakers are only 5 ½ vs 7 ½ on the ML, were deep and tight with a lot more natural sound. I ended up returning the ML-75AW. One thing I learned is, it doesn't matter what brand or how expensive the speakers are: I have to listen before I buy. I hope I can help somebody from making the same mistake I did. And last but not least I want to thank Crutchfield for their incredible return policy.

Great HiFi Outdoor Sound
Michael from DUNEDIN, FL on 7/2/2023
I installed these myself. They are very easy to install. NOTE: Follow the directions for speaker placement and resist the urge to put them wherever you want. Distance apart is key. You'll get the best sound that way. I have a pair of floorstanding B&W 603's in my living room and never owned Martin Logan speakers. I'm very happy with how these sound outside. I spend a lot of time out back by the pool and these speakers sing with great highs, good midrange and acceptable bass for it's size. I think a sub would make them perfect and I'm considering adding one at some point in the future. I power them with a Kenwood M2A Amp. I would recommend to buy these.
Pros: Great HiFi sound at loud or lower volumes
Cons: Might need a Sub to be perfect

Very nice outdoor speakers

Excellent sound for outdoor speakers. Very clear but not overwhelming highs, good bass response and the sound projects very well in a completely open space. Installation was a snap and pairs very well with the Sonos system we installed. Well worth the extra money vs similar Polk products.
Pros: Excellent sound Easy installation Clear highs Good bass response
Cons: Large Sound is mainly focused in the area in front of the speakers as opposed to spreading out across a wide area (which is common for these types of speakers)
