Another Great Yamaha Product

This is a solidly built, great sounding loudspeaker. I replaced a few 15 year old Carvin PA speakers and the difference is noticeable. The speaker is also relatively lightweight compared to competitive products, which was important to me. We'll done Yamaha! As has been my experience with all Yamaha musical equipment, this speaker is built to last, and does what it should extremely well.

Pros: Sound. Price. Low weight. Quality build.

Cons: None.

Excellent for home use

Bought a pair for the screen porch of my rural place. I am a professional orchestral musician, expect quite a bit out of my audio gear, and have some truly world class gear at home. These speakers are a sonic gem! Clear and relaxed sound with excellent detail. Yes, the cabinets are plastic, but that's fine with me since a little moisture goes with the location and the carrying handles and speakon connectors make them easy to haul inside when not home or in very bad weather. They do need a good sub since they don't put out a lot of bass below 80-100 HZ. They also like power and will sing all the better if you feed them a quality signal (using a Cambridge Audio CX-A81). I have heard lots of expensive nice looking home speaker that can't lay a finger on these sound wise.

Pros: Clean clear relaxed sound and super low price

Cons: They look like what they are, gig speakers

Upgraded audio experience

Solid, potent PA speakers with far better sound than my Behringers and other options. They pair well with my Yamaha amp. Crutchfield's service is five-star; attentive, responsive and resourceful. Shipping was fast. Hat's off to friendly Crutchfield advisor Ziggy for making my purchase easy, while providing worthy and insightful recommendations.

Pros: Loud, able to handle 500-watt Yamaha amp power. Decent sound.

Cons: Not really a con, since I'd expect this with any PA, but you need to tweak mixer settings in order to obtain the best sound.

Great Speakers

I pretty much knew what I was looking for, so I did not speak with a sales consultant. I was upgrading from a pair of MTX Audio speakers, that one of which had a blown tweeter. The Yamaha speakers far exceed the quality of the MTXs, and are perfect for d.j. work, or live sound. They are also easy to carry, with the handles on the side. These speakers are my first experience with Speakon connectors, and they are a joy; easy to connect, and a secure connection. They are loud, and sound great. They are also versatile, and have holes in the bottoms that allow them to be placed on stands. They can also just sit upright on the floor, or be placed on their wedged sides to be used as stage monitors. Crutchfield's shipping is free and fast. I would highly recommend these speakers, and Crutchfield.

Pros: They sound great, loud, versatile, easy to carry, two easy ways to connect them (speakon, or 1/4" phone cable), high frequency driver protection for overloads

Cons: None so far.

Speakers showed up on time. Good low and high ends. Had help from an agent which walked me through the process of picking out the best speaker for my use. I will definitely be using Crutchfield for all my pro audio needs in the future.
