Got these HS7 monitors for use with a new iMac computer. Their near field performance makes them ideal for the job. Love the look and very happy with them overall.

Pros: Great sound and performance, internal amps, legendary appearance.

Cons: Ported cabinet, power switches located on the back.

Yamaha HS7

I have been mixing and now mastering for twenty or more years. I have the BX8s and the BX5s and several other non amplified speakers. The BXs sound great but color the sound. They sound great in your studio but lie to you in the outside world of car radios, etc... Finally after reading about the Yamaha HS7s I went out and bought a pair. They do not lie! Every little detail is there and you can EQ and add and subtract audio to get your perfect mix. The holy Grail of speakers is now in my wheelhouse. Thank the good Lord...

Pros: True sound. Flat response. Do not color the sound at all!!

Cons: Absolutely none!!

Computer speakers to a new level

I bought the HS7 speakers to use as desktop near field computer speakers. I am familiar with many of the popular offerings in the computer speaker arena however, after discussing my needs with my advisor, Rusty, We came up with the Yamaha. I know for me these opened a whole new experience. I am hearing sounds that new to me on well known music. I do not need a subwoofer. For me, these are nicely made high quality monitors that give me a whole different signature. I highly recommend the Yamaha HS7.
