Features
Overview: The JBL Control 60PS/T pendant subwoofer can provide wide bass extension and high-fidelity sound in a variety of indoor foreground and background music applications including restaurants, retail stores, cafes, health clubs, convention and exhibit spaces, atriums, and more. Designed for 70/100 volt applications, the subwoofer includes a built-in crossover and four satellite speaker outputs, allowing it to be used as part of an integrated full-range system.
Driver: The Control 60PS/T features an 8" long-excursion low frequency driver consisting of a polypropylene-coated cone, for humidity protection, and a butyl rubber surround, for tight well-damped bass. The driver also features a high-temperature 2" voice-coil and a low-mass fiberglass former, ensuring good bass transient response and excellent stability under high power working conditions.
Enclosure: The high-impact polystyrene sealed enclosure offers an aesthetically pleasing design while providing tight controlled bass output utilizing JBL's proprietary conical RBI (Radiation Boundary Integrator). This unique innovation combines a large diameter wavequide with low-frequency projection apertures that work in tandem to provide seamless sound coverage and a consistently flat frequency response. The subwoofer includes a zinc-plated steel grille, with a powder-coat finish and foam backing, both of which can be removed for painting.
70/100 Volt: The Control 60PS/T includes a built-in transformer, for 70 or 100 volt systems, providing up to 110 watt operation along with an 8 ohm bypass option. A rotary tap-selector on top of the enclosure offers the following wattage settings:
- 70 Volt: 15W, 30W, 55W, or 110W
- 100 Volt: 30W, 55W, or 110W
- 8 Ohm bypass
Sub/Sat Connections: Signal input to the Control 60PS/T is done through a 2-pin Euroblock connector that can accept up to 14 AWG wire. Four additional 2-pin "pass-thru" connectors are provided for connecting up to four satellite speakers such as the Control 65 pendant speakers or the Control 29 AV surface-mount speakers (sold separately). The Control 60PS/T subwoofer includes a built-in 125Hz crossover, allowing it to play frequencies below the crossover point while the satellite speakers play frequencies above the crossover point. Each of the four 2-pin Euroblock Satellite speaker outputs can accept up to 14 AWG speaker wire.
Suspension: As a pendant speaker, the Control 60PS/T subwoofer is designed to be suspended over a listening area. Each speaker includes two 15' high-tensile galvanized-steel cables with snap-hooks for suspending it, one main cable and one safety cable. Each cable includes a Gripple cable fastener, allowing it to quickly and easily be adjusted for the proper height.
Environmental Specs: The Control 60PS/T exceeds Mil Spec 810 for humidity, salt spray, temperature, and UV. It also carries an IP44 splash-proof rating, per IEC529.
