Features
Overview: The JBL COL600 Slim Column Speaker is a slim, compact column speaker that provides a combination of stylish design and outstanding performance. The JBL slim column speaker provides wide horizontal and narrow vertical coverage and features a 10° down-tilt mounting option for optimum coverage of most listening areas. The COL600 also features a built-in 70/100V transformer with an 8Ω bypass option.
IP54 Rated: The COL600 is IP54 rated against dust and water ingress. The drivers are water-treated, the grille has a water-backing, and the input terminal includes a screw-down cover for added protection.
Drivers: The JBL COL600 slim column speaker includes two 5" x 2.25" "racetrack" woofers, providing maximum radiating area in a column form factor, and a 1" tweeter. The tweeter is located on top of the column for less obstructed coverage of the listening space. The tweeter is mounted in a down-angle fashion, allowing down-tilted coverage, even with the column speaker mounted flat against a wall.
70/100V: The COL600 column speaker features a built-in 20W transformer for 70 or 100V operation, and includes an 8Ω bypass setting. In the 8Ω mode, the column speaker can handle up to 80W RMS (320W peak). The tap setting dial is located on the rear panel and provides the following tap settings:
- 70V: 2.5W, 5W, 10W, and 20W
- 100V: 5W, 10W, and 20W
- 8Ω: Bypass
Connections: Wiring to the column speaker is made through a 4-pin Euroblock connector that's mounted inside a recessed opening on the rear panel and protected by a screw-down cover. The 4-pin connector can accommodate wire up to 14-gauge, with two pins acting as the input and two pins providing a pass-thru connection for additional optional speakers.
Mounting: The JBL column speaker includes brackets for two types of mounting options. Two L-brackets are provided that can be installed either on the top and bottom, for 95° of horizontal pan aiming, or on the left and right sides. Both L-bracket mounting options allow for close-to-the-wall installation. A low-profile swivel (pan)/tilt wall bracket is also included, letting you mount the speaker either at 0° or with a 10° down-tilt.
