Features
Overview: The Mackie Thrash212 Go is a portable powered PA loudspeaker designed for live use in small venues, rehersal spaces, busking, schools, and more. The Thrash212 Go features two input channels that can accept mic- or line-level signals, all being driven by 300 watts of power (peak). A rechargeable battery pack can provide up to 10 hours of use without the need for AC power.
Drivers: The Mackie Thrash212 Go features a 2-way driver design with a 12" woofer and a 1" titanium tweeter housed in a bass-reflex enclosure.
Chassis: Designed for portability and durability, the Thrash212 Go features a rugged polypropylene chassis with a textured finish and a perforated metal grille. It includes three built-in carry-handles and a standard 35mm socket for pole-mounting.
300W Class-D Amplification: The Thrash212 Go features two built-in Class-D amplifiers; a low-frequency power amp providing 250W (peak) to the woofer and a high-frequency power amp providing 50W (peak) to the 1" titanium compression tweeter. Class-D amps are more efficient and lightweight, with far less heat produced versus competing designs.
Battery Power: The Thump Go includes a removable, rechargeable Lithium-ion battery for portable use in areas where AC power isn't available or convenient. The 8800mAh battery can provide up to 10 hours of use with a charge time of approximately 5 hours when not in use, or 7 hours if charging while in use. An AC power cord is provided for operation and battery charging. The rechargeable battery features a built-in DC port for charging the battery from an optional charger (sold separately).
- Battery Indicator: A tri-colored LED displays the remaining battery life of the included rechargeable battery:
- Green: 20% - 100% charge
- Yellow: 5% - 20% charge
- Red: Less than 5% charge
- Flashing: Battery Charging
- No LED: No battery is detected
Inputs: The Thrash212 Go features two main input channels (Ch.1 & Ch.2) that can accept balanced or unbalanced mic- or line-level signals. Both inputs consist of XLR/1/4" TRS combo jacks for flexibility, and include a rotary Gain control for adjusting the input signals. Labelling for each control shows Off, Line, U (Unity), Mic, and Max. The Unity setting includes a detent in the dial.
- Bluetooth (Ch3/4): The Thrash212 Go can be paired to up to two Bluetooth-enabled devices for audio streaming (only one device at a time can play back). Bluetooth audio streaming uses "non-physical" stereo Channels 3&4, with the volume of the incoming audio adjusted on the playback device. A rear-panel Pair button is used for pairing a device and will flash Blue during pairing and will light solid Blue when connected to a device.
- Link: The Thrash212 Go can be linked to another Thrash212 Go powered speaker, allowing them to operate in stereo, with a mixed output signal from one sent to both speakers. The Link button will light when active.
- Note: If the Thrash212 Go is linked to another Thrash212 Go, only one Bluetooth playback device can be paired to it. If two phones are paired to the Thrash212 Go, then linking to another Thrash212 Go is not possible.
Output: A balanced XLR Thru jack is provided that can pass the main mixed output signal to additional powered speakers (sold separately).
Monitor Mode: The Thrash212 Go can be used as a stage monitor. Beveled rear panels allow it to lay on either side at a 45° upward angle. The Mackie RunningMan logo on the speaker grille can be rotated to match the PA placement.
Power: The Mackie Thrash212 Go requires 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz for operation (when not using the battery pack) and battery charging. A 58" AC power cord is included.
Protection: The Thrash212 Go incorporates various safety features:
- Limiting: A compression circuit which helps protect it from damaging transient peaks. The compressor is designed to be transparent and isn't noticeable under normal conditions.
- Thermal: If the amplifier overheats, a built-in thermal switch will activate, muting the signal. After it has cooled down sufficiently, the switch will reset itself and resumes normal operation.
- Overexcursion Protection: A subsonic filter circuit just prior to the internal amplifier prevents ultra-low frequencies from being amplified and causing over-excursion damage to the woofer.
