Wet Sounds VS-SMC-65s can go where most in-ceiling speakers can't. They're under 2-1/2" deep, so they can be mounted in-ceiling locations with limited space. And they're weather-resistant, so they can stand up to the elements in an outdoor installation. They deliver solid background music and intelligible announcements, thanks to their 6-1/2" mid-bass drivers and 1" PEI dome tweeters.

These speakers are perfectly matched to the weather-resistant Wet Sounds VS-1200-AMP 4-channel amplifier, which is designed to run multiple pairs of VS Series speakers and/or a subwoofer.

Outdoor In-Ceiling Loudspeaker: The Wet Sounds Venue Series VS-SMC-65 shallow mount ceiling speaker is specifically designed and engineered for practically any shallow mount and or in-ceiling application that needs to withstand the demands of rigorous outdoor environments.

2-Way Driver Design: The VS-SMC-65 utilizes a two-way driver design with a 1" PED dome tweeter and 6.5" composite cone woofer to delivers incredible outdoor sound. An integrated back box protects the drivers, crossover, and other speaker components safe from the outdoor elements.

Low Profile Magnetic Grille: The included low-profile grille only protrudes 0.25" from the ceiling and attaches to the front of the speaker magnetically. The grille can be painted to match and blend in more with your ceiling.

Spring-Post Terminals: The Wet Sound Venue Series VS-SMC-65 is outfitted with spring-post terminals that will accommodate bare wire (up to 12 AWG), pin-connectors, and banana plugs (single only).

Mounting Options: The VS-SMC-65 shallow mount ceiling speaker requires a round cut-out that measures 8.1875" (diameter) x 2.125" (depth). The speaker secures to the ceiling surface using integrated "dog-ear" mounting clamps. The mounting clamps will accommodate 0.25" to 0.75" thick ceilings and require 0.5" of clearance around the inside of the cutout.

What is the actual dimension of the speaker inside diameter, is it 8 in or 8.1875 in? I know the cutout is the latter.

I will try to help as best as possible, AL. The cutout diameter is 8.1875", and the magnet structure on the rear is nearly that same size with 2 1/8" of depth needed. You do want to make sure the hole cutout size is very close to the size of the speaker for a good fit when installing. The woofer inside is actually a 6.5" speaker and 1" tweeter.

Are there two speaker covers in the box, one white one black? If not, can the speaker cover be painted?

Hi Richard, thanks for your question. This is for a pair of speakers, 2 grilles included, they are both white. The grilles can be painted to match and blend in more with your ceiling. Hope this helps.
