Wet Sounds WS-MC-2
Mickey from Mabank, TX on 1/17/2025
The radio was very easy to use install. I now can turn on just the speakers on the tower or just the interior speakers. the sound in incredible. I would recommend this radio to anyone.
Pros: It's worth more than I paid for it. Fix perfect in the space where I had a factory installed radio.
Cons: I do not know of any at the time.

Someone recommended this stereo and I'm glad they did. It was a good choice.
Pros: Lots of tunability and great sound.
Cons: Rubber cover seems like it would fly away in heavy wind. Quality material but seems a little flimsy.

Better than expected! Quality construction and sounded easily twice as good then the stock unit it replaced
Pros: Input gain works. Bluetooth sounds almost as good as USB ... no background noise & clean bass compared to OEM Jensen I replaced

Wet Sounds WS-MC-2
Rob from Englewood, FL on 11/17/2023
Very pleased, great sound in a small package and easy to install. Planned to install in center console next to 12" sonar/maps display but it is just a little larger than square Yamaha gauges so I installed next to them and it looks factory install perfect. Simple controls, easy to learn and use. If I could change anything it would be the rubber cover. Great idea and looks good but it does not attach firmly, I do not think it would stay on at speed, like towing on a trailer.

Bought this to replace the raggedy Polk PA4A system that came from the factory. You'd be amazed what a simple swap of the head unit will do for sound quality. Highly recommend.

Installed in my '22 Yamaha AR195, replacing the factory unit. This HU is a significant improvement over stock - not just in functionality, but it also makes the sound from the stock Polk speakers much, much, better.

Wet Sounds WS-MC-2
Ryan from Kent, OH on 3/3/2023
I upgraded the Jensen stock radio that came in our AR195 to the new wet sounds radio for a few reasons. I wanted a rotary dial for volume and controls for secondary zone. I use some 2 for secondary he subwoofer. I also added tower speakers but installed a separate RCA control knob for the volume on those using a couple splitter RCAs. I wanted to use zone 2 on the radio for the towers but that's the only RCA input that allows low pass filter. So I didn't add my sub to either front or rear input. I have my tower speakers bridged on the amp and use the front and rear input for those. This radio provided additional power to my stock speakers and sounds really good. I also like that you can control the gain for using Bluetooth or connecting to the USB for iPhone. Their is a drop in sound volume when using the Bluetooth compared to USB, so I add+3 gain for Bluetooth. Bluetooth volume will be around 20 and using USB is around 10 to get the same "volume". I use -3 gain for the USB connection. Install was easy and overall very happy with the radio. It allows for so much more customization and ease of use compared to the stock Jensen. I would like to get the transom remote but don't want to drill any holes to mount. I prefer Crutchfield due to the great customer support and product info listed. It's nice to have the option to call and walk through any issues. I've used them for probably 10 years on various products, plus get reward points. I used some from years ago toward this.
Pros: Zone control Rotary knob controls Many types of Adjustments for music
Cons: Price

Great sounding and easy to navigate. Bluetooth hooks up effortlessly. Pushing 4 speakers on my pontoon and sounds better with no other upgrades at this time but this thing has everything needed to upgrade with amp ,sub, etc. if you want. Also like the screen that tells you what's playing.

Alan from Deltona, FL on 9/4/2022
Easy install, good performance out of the box, but will need amp(s) to go above 1/2 volume without distortion (as with just about any head unit). Has all the features needed to expand the system.

Wet Sounds WS-MC-2
I chose the Wet Sounds WS-MC-2 over the Kicker 46KMC4 for 2 reasons - the Wet Sounds has the USB music Shuffle feature and is Sirius XM ready. Although the Wet Sounds receiver is rated at only 25W RMS x 4, it is quite a bit more powerful than the brand new factory installed Jensen that came with my new pontoon boat. Volume is significantly louder, and sound is significantly better. We are able to hear music at a cruising speed of 20mph (haven't yet tried listening at 35-40 mph, though my guess is I'd need to add an amp for that kind of volume). This receiver pumps more than enough volume to listen to the music as loud as we desire while anchored out in a cove swimming, floating, etc. (there is still actually quite a bit more volume at our disposal). No, we cannot crank the type of volume that I could with my previous surf boat with all the speakers & amps it had, but we use our pontoon much differently. My plan is to replace the factory Jensen 25W RMS speakers with the Kicker 45KM654 in hopes of improving the sound quality just a bit. If I ever decide to run with a super loud stereo setup, this receiver will be a good base for adding amps, more powerful speakers, and sub(s), but I think we (our ears) are getting a bit too old for that.
Pros:
Cons: USB only plays MP3 format - other brands play multiple formats.

Lives up to the hype!! Crutchfield and Wet Sounds!
Christopher from Cypress, TX on 6/8/2022
First and foremost Crutchfield customer service is second to none. Sales reps helped me purchase the right product and helped me get the right financing. The product was shipped two day air! NOBODY has customer service even close! Just off of this alone I will continue to buy from Crutchfield as long as they stock the items I am looking for they have a customer for life. After receiving my Wet Sounds I called them with questions about installation. After about two minutes of talking to a Crutchfield tech I was squared away. I don't write reviews very often but I give credit where credit is due. The Wet Sounds MC 2 two is great and the recon 6 speakers are plenty for my 17ft tunnel vee center console. Very crisp and plenty loud over my 115 HP Suzuki at WOT. Installation is easy if you know how to crimp wires together and use heat shrink. If you get tripped up just call Crutchfield and their techs are very knowledgeable.
Pros: Loud Crisp Easy installation Looks amazing
Cons: I would say price but you get what you pay for

Great reciever
Anthony from Burnet, TX on 4/10/2022
Super easy install and very clear audio. A bright display makes for easy/clear changes on rough water. Added a SiriusXM receiver so there's no doubt about having tunes on board. Planning on adding an amp with additional speakers.
Pros: Pretty much place this unit anywhere. Everything is labeled. Excellent ordering and delivery process
Cons: I could come up with something if I thought long enough, but this is a well thought out product.

upgrade to Yamaha installed radio unit
Crutchfield customer from Potomac River, VA on 10/23/2021
Quick Install with only redoing the wiring harness behind the console. Replaced factory radio head on my Yamaha FSH210 which had water intrusion and loss of front right channel after two years. Upgraded the speakers to Kenwood's earlier this year and with this Wetsounds head unit, the sound is night and day difference. Easy to see in the sunlight and love the fact is has a volume knob to adjust the volume quickly vs the old radio that was a one button push for each volume adjustment...(took forever). Comes with rubber cover to protect from elements. We will put this to good use in our Boat. Works all of the Pandora functions right from the head unit so my phone never comes out once it is stored. It also has a channel that can be used as a subwoofer channel or for a tower speaker bar if we decide to add later.
Pros: -Volume knob -better sound than factory radio -Larger display -2 year warranty
Cons: -none observed yet

Best head unit for the price out there
Crutchfield customer from Savage, MN on 7/22/2020
Probably the best head unit for the price right now for a boat or outdoor vehicle. I highly recommend for the ease of use and installation. Also a very important piece is the volume knob and warranty.
Pros: Price, size, ease of use, ease of installation, volume knob, warranty, 3 preouts
Cons: Wish there was an additional prep it for a total of 4+ versus 3. Added accessories are expensive. For example the transom remote.
