Overview: The Audeze MM-100 (211-MM-1100-00) is the second model in the MM-series of studio headphones designed in collaboration with award-winning recording engineer Manny Marroquin. Like the MM-500, the MM-100 is equipped with Audeze's renowned planar magnetic drivers. These open-back headphones are hand-assembled in Southern California, and come with a long braided cable, and a cloth storage pouch.
Manny Marroquin: Manny Marroquin is a Grammy Award-winning recording engineer/producer, and Audeze's Head of Professional Products. He has applied his years of expertise into helping Audeze create the MM series of headphones for the professional recording studio. Mixing recordings using headphones require durable materials and construction that can withstand daily use, as well as all-day comfort. The MM Series brings studio-quality sound and consistent performance to every listening experience.
Construction: The MM-100 is built for durability, accuracy, and comfort. It has a lightweight chassis made with premium magnesium yokes and a spring-steel headband. The soft, gel-filled earpads gently surround your ears while the wide, adjustable suspension strap relieves pressure on your head. This allows you to wear the headphones during long studio sessions without fatigue.
Drivers: The 90mm (3.54") planar magnetic drivers on the MM-100 feature strong Fluxor™ magnet arrays and low-profile Fazor™ waveguides for a wide frequency response out to 25,000 Hz. The ultra-thin Uniforce™ diaphagms move between the magnet arrays to create ample air movement for the powerful bass response Audeze headphones are known for. The uniform magnetic force provides better controls the movement of the diaphragm, which results in lower distortion and higher resolution.
Cable: The MM-100 comes with a flexible 93" braided cable that remains tangle-free and resistant to transfer noise. The headphones have 3.5mm input connectors on both earcups, allowing you to plug the single-sided cable into either the left or right side. The cable terminates into a straight 1/4" (6.3mm) plug that is compatible with virtually all audio consoles and interfaces, as well as many home audio components and headphone amplifiers.
