I haven't really exercised these completely yet but they definitely add a fullness to the front soundstage. I've paired these with my Monitor Silver RS towers, center & rear ceiling surrounds. I also have an HSU down firing sub. I recently upgraded my amp to a Marantz SR5014 also from Crutchfield. I like what these little guys added to the overall listening/watching experience.

Pros: Fit perfectly on top of existing front towers. Adds fullness to front Soundstage as Dolby left/right assignment. Good match for existing Monitor speakers.

Cons: I wish they came in more finish options to better match existing towers.

Very nice but maybe over-engineered for their typical workload.

I bought these paired with a set of Monitor Audio Bronze 50s, and to replace my budget priced and poorly placed rear surround speakers. I'll start by comparing the positional audio effect to the 7.1 through my Denon amp. Almost all content will be upmixed from a 5.1 or 7.1 signal as Atmos or DTS:X enabled audio remains quite uncommon. In a smaller room that may not have room to effectively place the rear surrounds (true in my case) the effect is more subtle than a 7.1 signal, but also more immersive in that the effect fills the room more effectively than rear surrounds. All in all if your home theater system is capable of performing an upmix through Dolby or Neural:X and you don't have the space for an ideal 7.1 setup, Atmos speakers in general should be considered. The Monitor AMS, may not be the best choice for most. Given the limited amount of audio that up-firing or height speakers handle, the Monitors are probably over-engineered and that's reflected in the price. I would urge listeners who use other brands of speakers to consider slightly less expensive brands of Atmos speakers as you're really not going to pumping a ton of sound through them. If you DO have Monitors and don't mind the cost of the AMSes, you can be sure that these will be a great aesthetic and acoustic match. If you're using something like Tidal with then you can expect the character to blend seamlessly with your other Monitor speakers but if Atmos is niche in general, Atmos music is super-niche...

Pros: Solid build and no-compromise engineering. Same materials and acoustic characteristics as the excellent Monitor Bronze Series speakers.

Cons: Likely over-engineered for the limited audio that Atmos-specific speakers typically handle.
