Gets the job done - professional help recommended
Crutchfield customer from San Francisco, CA on 12/11/2021
Only reason for multiple stars is that it holds the sound bar flush to the wall and is a solid piece of metal. I have the Monitor SB4 sound bar which needs to be mounted to studs. I had a professional install via Geek Squad - they were not impressed with instructions or flexibility it provides to hang on studs. We manually drilled holes in the plate and put it on studs - it is a solid piece of metal and I have 0-fear of it losing its integrity. Once hung they assured me it's not going anywhere. They were able to level fairly easily (they're pros) Would recommend if you have the proper help.
Pros: Solid piece of metal and long enough to hit studs.
Cons: Professional help or experience needed.

Poor instructions and non-intuitive design
Crutchfield customer from Draper, UT on 10/27/2021
I used this to mount the Monitor SB-4 soundbar. It ultimately worked and my speaker is on the wall. However, it was not an easy process. There are virtually no instructions for the mounting kit. The holes and cutouts aren't explained. Two passthrough openings on the sides seem like they are intended for wires to run through them. But on the SB-4 speaker, the binding posts are in the center, directly in front of the larger mouth-shaped opening in the center of the bracket. In fact, because the mount holds the speaker so close to the wall (a positive, aesthetically), it is almost mandatory to place your cutout in the wall for wires directly behind the large center opening. The bracket is not wide enough to reach two studs that are 16" on center. At most, you can hit one stud. My mounting location was between two studs, and the bracket isn't wide enough to reach either of them. I had to use 4 drywall anchors. Not ideal for something so heavy. Also, you need to get the bracket EXACTLY level. Being slightly off level would be very noticeable on such a long speaker. But the bracket edges are curved, so you can't put a bubble level against the edge. And adjustment would be difficult once the speaker is on. So you have to make sure to get your mounting holes perfectly level to each other. It can be done but requires great care. Lastly, for the SB-4 you may want to pair bracket with two L-shaped brackets to support the ends. This bracket only supports the middle
Pros: Perfect fit for the speaker, sits close to the wall.
Cons: Requires perfect precision in planning and mounting, poor instructions, may need to be supplemented with brackets to support the ends of the speaker to prevent bowing.

Awful Instructions--updated
Merv from Carlsbad, CA on 10/14/2021
This is an update to my 10/11/21 review. I contacted tech support for Monitor Audio by email. They were very helpful, particularly the the UK headquarters. The instructions are still awful but I now know how to mount this bracket. Both Crutchfield Tech support and I interpreted the instructions such that we had the bracket on back to front. There are two protruding nubs that you can see if you look closely at graphic #4. Also, looking at the bracket, the name "monitor audio" in the center and on the two holes at the sides. These designate the soundbar side (as opposed to the wall side) of the bracket. I suspect the nubs are to keep pressure on the screw heads so they don't loosen. The various holes in other spots are simply to give you a lot of choices in mounting the bracket to the wall. Hope that helps.

Awful Instructions
Crutchfield customer from Encinitas, CA on 10/11/2021
I have not mounted the Monitor Audio SB-4 yet. I need to beef up the support to which the bracket will be attached. The mount feels very substantial and strong. However, the instructions stink. (see my separate review of SB-4 with equally awful instructions.) The instructions are basically a couple of graphics, no words. View them in the "what's in the box" under the "overview." I called Crutchfield tech support and they were as baffled as I was. We eventually agreed that the bracket mounts to the wall first. There are 4 screws that come in the soundbar box, not the with the mount. They screw into the back of the soundbar. They stop before screwing in all the way. So they protrude a bit from the back of the SB. Those protruding screws fit into the four keyholes around the perimeter of the bracket. Problem is in my test runs, if one tightens the screws, they do not protrude far enough to latch into the bracket. So you have to loosen them a bit. My concern is that with the sound vibration, over time, those screws are going to loosen and eventually give way. The second issue is where the screws into the wall fit through the bracket. It seems to be in the corners of the rectangular cutouts within the keyholes. Tech support called MA but only reached voice mail. Tech support said he would call me if MA called back. He hasn't so I'm guessing MA never did. And that's the third issue. Awful instructions and questionable MA tech support.
Pros: Appears well made and sturdy
Cons: Awful almost non existent instructions

Monitor Audio SB-4 Mount

Excellent mount
Pros: Great mount - easy to mount the soundbar, room for wiring behind mount.
Cons: A little short - must get it EXACTLY level.
