2-Way Driver Design: The Monitor Audio Creator Series C1M in-ceiling speaker employs a 2-way driver design featuring a 1" C-CAM dome tweeter and a 7" C-CAM cone woofer for high-quality sound with wide dispersion and clarity.

C-CAM Driver Technology: C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminum/Magnesium) is ideal for speaker drivers since it is extremely rigid, yet light enough to yield high overall efficiency. In manufacture, aluminum/magnesium alloy undergoes a three-stage stress-relieving process to remove surface deformation and molecular weakness. Once formed, the alloy driver is subjected to a high temperature anodic coating process in which a layer of pure ceramic alumina is depleted onto its surfaces to a depth of 50 microns, producing a completely rigid sandwich of alloy and heat-dissipating ceramic material. Conventional drivers are liable to flex or twist in operation, producing a significant level of audible distortion. C-CAM drivers have a much higher resistance to bending stress and therefore exhibit much greater fidelity over their entire operating range.

Quik-Link Speaker Cable Connector: The C1M uses Monitor Audio's new innovative Quik-Link terminal that makes connecting your speaker wire easier and less time consuming. The Quik-Link terminal is a set of spring-post terminals on a detachable connector block that allows you to attach your speaker wire to the terminals prior to mounting the speaker. Once you've attached your speaker wire to the Quik-Link terminal block, it magnetically snaps and locks back into place on the rear of the speaker. The Quik-Link terminal accepts bare wire (up to 12AWG) and is not compatible with banana plugs, spade-lugs, or pin-connectors.

Tri-Grip II Fixing System: Tri-Grip II is Monitor Audio's new dog-leg mechanism that is considerably stronger and more reliable than the previous generation, meaning. Monitor Audio's innovative Tri-Grip II fixing system is easier to install than conventional clamping schemes and provides greater surface area and a better surface seal, maximizing bass response and midrange clarity. The Tri-Grip II fixings are made from a tough re-enforced polymer, giving a secure installation. The C1M requires a round circular cutout in the ceiling that measures 8.375" (diameter) x 3.9375" (depth). The Tri-Grip II mounting system can accommodate a ceiling thickness of 0.25" to 1.75". Make sure to leave at least 1.0" of clearance around the interior of the cutout to accommodate the dog-leg mechanisms.

Trimless Grille: The Creator Series C1M in-ceiling speaker comes with a "Trimless" steel-mesh grille that is held in place by high strength Neodymium magnets around the entire speaker flange for a true trimless, stealth look. The grille is paintable to blend with the living space. The low-profile grille only protrudes 0.125" from the ceiling.
