2-Way Driver Design: The Monitor Audio Creator Series C2S in-ceiling speaker employs a 2-way driver design featuring a 1" C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter and a 5" C-CAM RST II woofer for high-fidelity sound with exceptional clarity, wider dispersion, and full bass.

• 1" C-CAM Gold Dome Tweeter: Monitor Audio's signature 1" C-CAM Gold Dome Tweeter features a new Uniform Dispersion (UD) Waveguide to deliver even sound dispersion, improved time alignment, and wider directivity for lifelike sound. The Gold Dome tweeter is formed from a ceramic-coated aluminum/magnesium alloy, gold anodized to a specific thickness for ideal stiffness and damping characteristics. Its new profile and surround geometry have been developed using advanced modeling tools, to provide the optimum qualities for accurate sound reproduction. It is also thinner, lighter, more rigid and therefore more efficient than many domes made from other materials.
• 5" C-CAM RST II Woofer: Monitor Audio's new Rigid Surface Technology (RST) II pattern has been evolved to give the C-CAM woofer cone a more rigid profile with a new hexagonal dimpled structure. RST II is more than just a pattern on the cone; it represents a collection of technologies that improves the overall performance of the driver. RST significantly increases cone rigidity, allowing the radiating surfaces to resist mechanical bending forces, which can twist the shape of conventional driver cones to produce distorted sound. The unique shape and dimpled pattern of RST II also helps to displace standing waves that can generate on the cone's surface for a cleaner midrange/midbass sound with low distortion.

Boundary Correction & Tweeter Level Controls: The Monitor Audio C2S in-ceiling speaker performs exceptionally well in a variety of locations, including when close to secondary walls. However, in order to perform optimally in tricker locations (such as corners) the C2S offers Boundary Compensation and Tweeter Level controls. The Boundary Compensation switch can be set to On or Off, while the the Tweeter Level control can be set to +3, 0, or -3 dB.

Quik-Link Speaker Cable Connector: The C2S uses Monitor Audio's new innovative Quik-Link terminal that makes connecting your speaker wire easier and less time consuming. The Quik-Link terminal is a set of spring-post terminals on a detachable connector block that allows you to attach your speaker wire to the terminals prior to mounting the speaker. Once you've attached your speaker wire to the Quik-Link terminal block, it magnetically snaps and locks back into place on the rear of the speaker. The Quik-Link terminal accepts bare wire (up to 12AWG) and is not compatible with banana plugs, spade-lugs, or pin-connectors.

Tri-Grip II Fixing System: Tri-Grip II is Monitor Audio's new dog-leg mechanism that is considerably stronger and more reliable than the previous generation, meaning. Monitor Audio's innovative Tri-Grip II fixing system is easier to install than conventional clamping schemes and provides greater surface area and a better surface seal, maximizing bass response and midrange clarity. The Tri-Grip II fixings are made from a tough re-enforced polymer, giving a secure installation. The C2S requires a round circular cutout in the ceiling that measures 6.75" (diameter) x 3.9375" (depth). The Tri-Grip II mounting system can accommodate a ceiling thickness of 0.25" to 1.75". Make sure to leave at least 1.0" of clearance around the interior of the cutout to accommodate the dog-leg mechanisms.

Trimless Grille: The Creator Series C2S in-ceiling speaker comes with a "Trimless" steel-mesh grille that is held in place by high strength Neodymium magnets around the entire speaker flange for a true trimless, stealth look. The grille is paintable to blend with the living space. The low-profile grille only protrudes 0.125" from the ceiling.
