Great for small spaces
Scott from WAUKEGAN, IL on 6/14/2025
I have been listening to these speakers for 6 months. My listening room is only 10'x10'x7'. I have it treated with cheap foam squares from Amazon. My system consists of Cambridge CXA81 MKII & CXN100, Fluance RT85 TT w/Ortofon 2M blue. Speaker are on 24" stands and positioned 8" from the front wall with toe in pointing just over the shoulders from the primary listening position. These speakers have excellent clarity, detail and solid imaging for the small space they are in. Initially, I didn't have a subwoofer connected and really didn't miss it. I got bored one day and pulled the sub out of my other system added it to this one. That made a huge difference. 2 of my reference albums I use to evaluate new gear and changes in my systems are Aja and Love Over Gold. The detail from these speakers was amazing. Much better than other speakers that I own. The marimba on the song Aja came through with great detail and clarity. I was able to make out every note in Chuck Rainey's bass line on Peg. Vocals are clear and distinct and a bit forward. I find these speaker very versatile for the music I listen to. Rock, jazz, classical, acoustic, country, funk, R&B, blues and bluegrass. I think these are outstanding speakers for small spaces and they pair nicely with the rest of my system. In a small listening environment they sound much larger than they are.
Pros: Great detail and clarity. Compact size for small spaces. Big sound from a small package.
Cons: Probably not a good option for lager rooms

Perfection in my home office
Chris from AUSTIN, TX on 12/10/2023
Using these on tall stands at each end of my desk in my home office, powered by a 150-watt power amp, and with music supplied by a DacMagic 200 and MXN10 streamer. There's a really good chance that I sit at the best home desk in the world. The sound is so crisp yet non-fatiguing. Imaging is amazing. I'm running the speakers full range from a Parasound zPre, along with an SVS SB-1000 for frequencies below 70hz. I have a much bigger system in the living room, but I love spending recreational time listening to this one. I got the ash color, which adds a nice air of warmth to the office. I am totally and completely thrilled. Thank you, Crutchfield, for helping me piece this together through steady upgrades over a couple of years.

This little speaker does a lot of things well in a small room, but I find it struggles with certain genres. Jazz, classical, etc you're golden. Rock? Leaves something to be desired.

small speakers, small sound
Jeff from Elyria on 12/21/2022
Nice if you keep in mind what these are, small speakers. Good high range, accurate, mids were ok, bass was non-existent. Honestly my powered desktop speakers sound better and they were $99.
Pros: finish, highs
Cons: overall lacking any presence, mids are bland and lows non-existent

Great sound for a small speaker. Not the same depth of some older larger speakers but pretty strong sound.
Pros: Small Crisp
Cons: Lacks a bit of bass

My primary listening room setup is Hi-Res digital streaming via Qobuz and sometimes vinyl from AT-120 with high end cartridge feeding into a Rotel RA-1572 mkii and out to the speakers with a pair of SVS Micro subs in support of the lows under 62 hz. Originally I had ELAC Uni-Fi Reference speakers but they are down for repair and awaiting RMA from ELAC support. The MA Silver 50 7G were meant to go to my second small listening room, but are taking the role in my primary until the ELACs get fixed. I bought the MA's on a recommendation after thorough discussion with Crutchfield rep Calvin. I have around 100 hours on them at this point so mostly broken in I am sure. The sounds fantastic! the detail from the gold tweeter is superb. The crossover feels spot on and the mids and bass are wonderful. The resolution of my system is at the point now where I can easily hear the difference between different Hi-Res streaming services and their associated formats, MQA, FLAC, etc. These are really nice speakers and worth the price. I look forward to getting my ELAC UBR's back from repair so I can do a direct comparison and seriously consider which should be on my main system.
Pros: Resolution. Looks (piano gloss black).
Cons: No Cons really. They are a bit expensive, but worth it to me.
