LOVE these GB-40s

2021 Ford Bronco
Took the plunge and ordered these speakers hoping they would be as great as they should be for the price...couldnt wait to install them in the dash of my Bronco, as part of a 3 way system with highend JL tweeters in the a-pillars, and highend 6 inch JLs in the kick panels and rear pods plus a JL 12 for the lows - powered by an Audio Control D-6.1200 for cabin speakers and a JL 500 watt amp for the sub. Worth every penny - the clarity and fullness of these 4 inch mids is just insane.
Pros: Organismic sound
Cons: I'm tempted to go full Audiofrog

Installed these in the 94 rx7 Bose vented OEM boxes and OMG they sound just as deep as my JBL 6 inch OEM woofers on my 07 Prius. I was blown away
Pros: Unbelievable sound 4 inch are almost as deep as 6 inch speakers. Incredible
Cons: A lot of OEM boxes have a 3 point holding screw setup and I wish there was a way to utilize that.

Simply unbelievable sound. These handle any acoustic demand with ease. Close your eyes and the artist is right there. I had a set of GS40's 1st and upgraded to these, I am using in my 3 way home system. Vocals and guitar especially are spot on.
Pros: Phenomenal sound. Covers the mid range frequencies as accurately as you are ever going to hear.
Cons: Credit card melter.

Incredible Speakers

2007 Toyota Camry
These are amazing speakers. I listened to an identical model with a set of Focal ES 100K K2 Power speakers and prior to purchasing these and was underwhelmed. These paired with the GB10 tweeters blow them out of the water. Such a clean, rich sound. Unbelievable what they're able to do for being 4" speakers.

best bang for buck

done Audiofrog in 2 of my cars now and some of the best speakers I've used to date. Anytime I go to RTA them the frequency response is the best I've ever seen especially for speakers in that price range!

Poor baby with the 1 star review... Oddly enough, he's putting some outatanding quality speakers he bought cheaper than everywhere else he tried to find because, you know, wning a supercar requires you skimp on everything but the price of the car. I've heard this set in a 3way Audiofrog setup on display and I will say they're outstanding. Don't pay mind to that 1 star crybaby because he's too rich to find them elsewhere for his supercar. I'm saving up so I can put a 3way set in my '92 Suzuki Swift, mostly because I love me some Crutchfield, but I also love great sound systems.
Pros: Build quality, performance, the list goes on...
Cons: Price... if you're not rich and buying them for your supercar.

These are excellent high quality midwoofer speakers and it's rare for a 4 inch speaker to handle this much power comfortably. This speaker excells in the frequency range it is meant to fill in. Pair with a tweeter and a lower bass woofer. Anyway one star is for Crutchfield selling this to me as a new very expensive set of 4 inch speakers and I get a box that looks like it's been around the block, scuffed up bezels and pushed in dust cover. So I don't like being sold damaged product being passed off and priced as brand new. I had a fixed appointment to install so now the only imperfection in my pristine system in my supercar is the item I bought from Crutchfield. All the other items I ordered from other online vendors for my system arrived brand new and unblemished as promised and ordered without any deceptive business practices included with my orders. So yeah sorry I'm a demanding customer for $500+ speakers and I was disappointed with this purchase even though I like this product I wish I had bought from a higher quality audiofrog dealer that I can depend on and not feel so cheated and disappointed every time I look at this speaker in my car now that I paid full price for. So bummed out.
