High quality, excellent video
Claude from Palmyra, VA on 2/15/2025
These cameras work well. They are well built and reliable. Very easy to place if you are just using the built in battery, but less to think about if you buy the cords. In my opinion you should be able to buy the plug in cords at a discount with the cameras if you want to go in that direction. Recommended.
Pros: Well built, great picture
Cons: Cords should be an option at a discount

Technology is great
Francis from Delanco, NJ on 6/3/2024
All you have to say is Alexa show me the Front Door camera. Also nice to see the camera activity on my Apple Watch.
Pros: Keeps you informed on what's going around your home.
Cons: None

Easy install, but departs from older platform
Allan from Peachtree Cor, GA on 4/15/2024
Easy installation and setup, but would have liked an option that bundled the outdoor power cable for a wired installation. As it stands, I had to purchase this separately. I also wish the camera could appear in the Nest app in addition to Google Home (or that my older Nest Cams could be fully configured in Google Home). I have to maintain both apps to manage a collection of old and new Nest Cams.
Pros: High quality build, easy installation and setup, good picture quality.
Cons: Indoor stand and outdoor power cables are sold separately, uses Google Home, which doesn't fully support older Nest Cams

NEST fan.
Neil from Salem, MA on 12/3/2023
Works awesome. Get a solar panel for it and extend its time. EASY to install. The only frustrating part was linking it to the APP. You just need to be patient.
Pros: Easy install. Clear recording especially during the day.
Cons: Takes time to connect to APP.

Google Nest Indoor/Outdoor Cam

preformed as advertised. In a busy area they are requiring recharging more often than I anticipated and they take up to 4 hours to recharge fully.

Buyers Beware google home Setup Software doesnt always work
Guest from Snohomish, WA on 1/19/2023
Purchased Google Nest Cam (battery) in Sept. 2022. Setup software couldn't connect the camera to my network, although I have over 40 smart devices that connect flawlessly (including a couple of Google devices). Google support was terrible; after working with them for about 4 months I gave up. They won't take the device back and issue a refund and they haven't been able to resolve their software issues. I wasted my money on this device and I still don't have a camera now.
Pros: None
Cons: Poor technical support, poor customer service from Google, terrible installation software, stuck with an expensive paper weight

Google Nest Indoor/Outdoor Cam
Charles from San Antonio, TX on 7/4/2022
these things are awesome -- I did not want to run wires everywhere ; so I decided to try these cameras -- all it takes is 2 little screws -- setup was super easy and the picture quality is superb -- I am getting more than a week between recharge ; but I am also playing with the cameras a lot -- I have not subscribed to the NEST AWARE service but I get alerts on my phone whenever the camera is triggered and I can easily download the video to my phone if I want to keep it permanently -- these are so fun -- I will probably get another pair for the back , just to watch the wild life
Pros: no wires !
Cons: have to recharge but it's really easy and totally worth not having to run cables all over the house

Must use "Google Home" APP
AndyB from St Louis, MO on 1/31/2022
I use a Nest Thermostat and the Nest Wired Doorbell and like how they both are integrated into the Nest App, which i found very easy to set up and use. The Nest Cam will only use the Google Home app and i am disappointed that now i have 2 goto places on my phone to view security and home temp issues. I realize the other Nest devices are recognized on the Google Home app, but to me the Nest app with the Nest Thermo and doorbell is more informative.
Pros: Easy to mount and aim Easy to dismount and charge Picture resolution High quality device build
Cons: Does NOT integrate with Nest app

Very Good but not perfect due to battery life
Ryan from Henrico, VA on 1/15/2022
Extremely easy set up and works well with the Google Home App. Needed to adjust camera settings to be less sensitive because the one overlooking my driveway was getting too much activity and causing the battery to die in just a few days on the "normal" setting. Since adjusting, the battery life is much better but I also don't capture as much footage. Other than that the cameras are perfect. Crutchfield was also far better to work with than the other Big Box retailer that I was originally going to purchase from. Two thumbs up!
Pros: Ease of setup and use Quality product Works well with other Nest Products Crutchfield customer service
Cons: Battery life

MEH
Crutchfield customer from Kapolei, HI on 12/26/2021
Can't link to google assistant. When mounted at recommended height of >6" speaker is difficult to hear. I had recharge it within 1 month with average use. Overpriced.
Pros: 100% wireless
Cons: Can't link to assistant. Speaker volume too low.

Google Nest Indoor/Outdoor Cam
Crutchfield customer from Westchester, IL on 12/15/2021
Nice upgrade from the previous model. Not a fan of this camera in battery mode. With the power cord, this camera is amazing. For those who don't read instructions, you can only use the newer cameras in Google Home. Nest app is not supported. New and old Nest cams will be visible in Google Home. Google home app is actually better after you become accustomed to the user interface. More items are supported all in one app and the cameras load much faster.
Pros:
Cons: Power cord is extra.

Good product but do the research before you install software
Crutchfield customer from Houston, TX on 10/12/2021
Physical installation is well thought out and simple. However software installation is not straight forward. It's a NEST product so you install NEST software to set up and operate it. WRONG. You set up the NEST product in GOOGLE HOME. Google assumes the user is familiar with Google Home. Not all users are. This is the first time I set any device up in either NEST or HOME. Could have saved a lot of frustrating hours if a simple WRITTEN menu had been laid out. The cameras have magnetic bases and attach firmly. However, they can be removed. Google suggests they be set up 2 meters high. A lot of people can reach that high, so mine are closer to 3 meters (~9.5 ft). At 6ft 4in, even I need a ladder for that. Video is excellent despite what some on-line amateur's reviewers have to say. There are some really good online reviews of the product AND a clear and concise description of installation. Wish I'd seen it earlier. Coulda saved a lot of labor.
Pros: Easy physical installation Excellent video

Do not work with NEST APP
Crutchfield customer from Mount Laurel To, NJ on 10/9/2021
Video quality is good. The fact that there is no Power Cord required is a plus as Corded Nest cameras may be hard to place due to the power requirements. The biggest negative is the fact that these cameras do NOT connect directly to the NEST APP but are only visible through the Google HOME APP. This means they do not "announce" activity as previous Corded NEST cameras do. If I had known this before purchase, I may have chosen a different camera... There are always trade-offs with any purchase.
